In celebration of the Aug. 19, 2018, premiere of its latest sequel, "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time," Wonderwall.com is checking up on the original's cast to find out what they're up to today…
Ian Ziering starred as Finley "Fin" Shepard, an ex-surfer who owns a bar, in "Sharknado."

Today, Ian Ziering is still a working actor. The "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum has reprised his role as Fin in every "Sharknado" sequel and also competed on "Celebrity Apprentice," "Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition" and "Celebrity Family Feud." In addition to "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time," Ian also starred in "The Thundermans" in 2018. He shares two daughters, Mia Loren and Penna Mae, with wife Erin Ludwig.
Tara Reid starred as April Wexler, Fin's ex-wife, in "Sharknado."
Tara Reid has continued to act since the first "Sharknado" debuted in 2013. The "American Pie" alum has starred in every "Sharknado" sequel and has a long list of upcoming projects on the horizon including "Attraction," "Baby Bulldog," "Bleach," "Art of the Dead," "Bethlehem Ranch" and "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time." After a few failed engagements, Tara seems to have found love with boyfriend Ted Dhanik.
John Heard starred as George, a drunk man who spends all his time at Fin's bar, in "Sharknado."
John Heard acted in a number of films and TV shows after "Sharknado" debuted. Unlike many of his "Sharknado" co-stars, he didn't reprise his role in the sequels, but he did pop up in "Boiling Pot," "Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero," "So B. It," "Last Rampage," "Modern Family," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Outsiders." The "Home Alone" alum died of a heart attack on July 21, 2017, at age 71. His final films, "The Tale" and "Living Among Us," were released in 2018. John left behind two children and a host of fans.
Aubrey Peeples starred as Claudia, April and Fin's daughter who feels left out, in "Sharknado."
Aubrey Peeples' career has truly blossomed since her "Sharknado" days. The actress has starred in several high-profile shows and films including "Rage," "Jem and the Holograms" and "Nashville." Fans will soon be able to catch her in the short film "Anne Frank Meets God" and the upcoming TV movie "Search and Destroy." When Aubrey isn't acting, you can find her cuddled up with her longtime beau, Daniel Donato.
Cassie Scerbo starred as Nova Clarke, a bartender who works for Fin, in "Sharknado."
Cassie Scerbo has continued to make a name for herself in Hollywood. The actress has appeared in a number of shows and movies since 2013 including "Baby Daddy," "Truth or Dare," "The Perfect Soulmate" and "Agoraphobia." The "Make It or Break It" alum returned to the "Sharknado" series in 2015 and 2017, reprising her role as Nova in "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" and "Sharknado 5: Global Swarming." Next up, she'll star in "The Filth" and "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time." Cassie is currently single, after having previously dated Josh Bowman and Doug Reinhardt.
Jaason Simmons starred as Baz Hogan, Fin's right-hand man, in "Sharknado."
Jaason Simmons has slowed down professionally in the years since "Sharknado" hit TV screens. The "Baywatch" actor has only starred in three projects: "F'd," "3010 the Righteous Path" and "3-Headed Shark Attack." The Aussie may have been devoting more time to his personal life. (Jaason publicly came out as a gay man in 2008 and has been raising son Odin, who was adopted from Uganda, with long-time partner John O'Callaghan). He's been announced as a cast member on two upcoming films, "The B Team" and "My Brother's Rage."
Chuck Hittinger starred as Matt, Fin and April's son who is also in flight school, in "Sharknado."
Chuck Hittinger has continued to expand his resume in Hollywood since 2013. The actor, who first came to fame playing Sean Ackard on "Pretty Little Liars," has appeared in several short films including "Bad Tutor," "Traitor Knight," "Transference," "Bullet Kyle" and "Prom?!" Next up, he'll be reprising his role as Matt in "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time." Chuck is currently in a relationship with girlfriend Mackenzie K.
