Cardi B's team is snapping back at rumors that the rapper filed for divorce from Offset because he had an extramarital affair and got another woman pregnant.
"There is no other child. No baby is on the way. That rumor is super false," a source told Page Six on Sept. 17. "Cardi is thinking of her child and wants everything to be amicable. She's evolved over the years and continues to."
On Sept. 15, the "WAP" rapper filed for divorce from there Migos rapper after nearly three years of marriage.
Initial reports implied that the split was contentious, but on Sept. 16, Cardi amended her filing to indicate she wants a peaceful split, especially for the sake of their 2-year-old daughter, Kulture.
"She went back to have the petition amended because she wasn't aware that it read 'primary custody.' She wants them both to have custody and to co-parent," the source said. "She's not requesting spousal support or child support. She wants everything to be super amicable."
The divorce filing came just days after Cardi shared a cryptic message on her Instagram Story that stated, "Her heart finally told her to stop wasting her time." She added, "It's time." The filing also came just days shy of what would have been the couple's third anniversary.
The couple's relationship has been unconventional. Offset proposed on stage during a concert after he and Cardi were already secretly married. Soon after, Offset was hit with cheating allegations and the duo briefly split in 2018. Then, in December 2018, he surprised Cardi on stage at the Rolling Loud Festival, essentially crashing her performance with flowers in hand and begging for her forgiveness with a cake that read "TAKE ME BACK CARDI."
They would eventually reconcile.
In the divorce paperwork, Cardi revealed that the two are now separated and firmly states that there is no chance of a reconciliation. Offset has yet to respond to Cardi's divorce filing.
