Christina Anstead isn't interested in a popularity contest on social media.
The "Flop of Flop" star posted a selfie on Instagram on Nov. 5 and got personal in her adjoining caption.
"This year has been incredibly isolating. Activities like church, travel, dinner, movies, sports- canceled," she said. "No longer seeing my friends smiling faces on set (all covered by masks) it all feels like s—-. So many changes for so many people. So despite what you see on Instagram most people are struggling."
For Christina, she knows all about those changes. On Nov. 3, she filed divorce papers in Orange County, California. The filing wasn't much of a surprise, as she and Ant Anstead, her husband of less than two years, announced their separation in September. The duo shares 1-year-old son Hudson London, who is often seen on Christina and Ant's Instagram pages.
Still, Christina says Instagram isn't everything, and she urged her followers not to read much into what they see on social media. While making the same point, she also implored them not to read much into what they don't see on social media.
"When I get told 'you must be an absent mother because you are not with your kids' – smh wake up people. I hardly post anymore … and I def do not want to post my kids every freaking day to make it a contest of who's a better parent," she said. "This doesn't mean I'm not with my kids – it means the opposite – I am with them- I'm present. So stop parent shaming people, stop choosing sides when there is no side to choose."
"My point being – when you see stuff on here take it all with a grain of salt," she continued. "There is a whole lot of Filters and fake smiles. I've been guilty of faking it too. We are all struggling – some of us are just better at 'masking' it."
