One month ago, Dina Lohan got engaged to Jesse Nadler, a man she's dated off-and-on for more than half a decade but has never actually met in person. Now, though, the wedding is apparently off.
The relationship has hit the skids, too.
"She doesn't want me to go, but I need her to live a healthy life," Jesse told Page Six on Friday. "It really comes down to that. I want a healthy, solid woman as a wife."
Jesse told Page Six he was "confused" when Dina recently changed her Facebook status from "engaged" to "in a relationship." Of course, she did this after he sent her a ring in the mail. He also said they planned to tie the knot "the first hour" they saw each other.
Now, Jesse is planning for single life.
"I'll set up 'my house' in Westhampton Beach. I wish I was setting up 'home' with Dina, but I don't think it's in the cards," he said, adding that Dina needs to make the next move. "The ball is in Dina's court. If she can get us down the court and slam dunk health and positivity, me and Dina can have a nice life together."
The potential split news come just a few days after Dina dished wedding details on her podcast Listen to me, THE OG MAMA D!.
"I am going to go off the grid. Lindsay and Ali are going to be my maid of honors because they're both angels and both my boys are going to walk me down the aisle together," she said. "They've both been there and are such amazing men and so kind to their women. I can't even make it up."
Dina and Jesse have been off and on for six years but their relationship has been online only. On an early 2019 episode of "Celebrity Big Brother," Dina revealed that she had a boyfriend since the mid-'10s but admitted that their relationship was strictly virtual. She confessed that they'd only ever communicated online and over the phone because he lives in San Francisco, where he cares for his sick mom, while she lives in New York.
The unconventional romance prompted many to warn Dina that Jesse could be catfishing her. However, after offering his relationship-sleuthing services via Twitter, "Catfish" creator and star Nev Schulman connected with Jesse and proved that he was indeed real.
The couple split in April 2019 following a blowout fight a few days after Jesse proposed without a ring. He told TMZ at the time that he didn't see them getting back together. However, he later told "ET" they'd been texting and that if Dina offered a sincere apology, he'd reconsider his decision.
In April 2020, after Dina and Jesse both got sober, the relationship was back on. Then, in the midst of quarantining amid the coronavirus pandemic, Jesse sent a ring.
"We will meet way before [the wedding]. We aren't freaks or weirdos or like blind date whatever those shows are. I know him, he knows me," Dina said just days ago. "We have no secrets. I love him for him. That's it. That's what it is."
