Erin Andrews thinks Tyra Banks will fill her dancing shoes quite nicely.
Last July, "Dancing With the Stars" dismissed both Erin and longtime host Tom Bergeron in favor of Tyra Banks, a move that few saw coming. However, Erin has no hard feelings and told "Extra" that the supermodel is "perfect" for the job.
"She can nail the smizing and the walking in gowns and heels, so good for her," Erin said of Tyra.
The FOX Sports commentator said she was "surprised" to find out that she wouldn't be returning to co-host the popular ABC show after six seasons alongside Tom.
"It was a surprise," Erin said while detailing how she got the dismissal news. "I got a phone call and I answered the phone. I was like, 'This isn't good.'"
Likewise, Tom — whom Erin called the show's "ballroom quarterback" — was also let go.
"I text with Tom, like once a week… and the dancers as well. That's a family… I danced on the show and then worked on the show for so many years," she said. "I always call it a 'Dancing With the Stars Mafia' — once you're in, it's really hard to break away. That's a tight-knit group. Sasha [Farber] and I will DM. I've gotten lovely messages from the dancers and so forth."
After Erin was formally let go, she tweeted her thanks to the reality TV competition.
"Thank you ABC and the entire 'Dancing With the Stars' family for [six] memorable seasons," she wrote. "Those years wouldn't have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers, and witty judges. I will always cherish my days on that set, even if I wasn't the best at walking in heels."
