Kate Beckinsale was left flummoxed and pretty disturbed after a fan dropped off an unsolicited gift at her doorstep this week.
On her Instagram on Tuesday, the actress, who turned 47 on July 26, revealed that someone left a live rabbit and a basket of flowers at her front door. Other than the name of rabbit, Marvel, no information regarding the gift was left behind.
In the since-deleted videos, Kate is genuinely confused over the present, calling it "pretty unsettling."
"Maybe [the flowers] have a note," she says in the video as she leans down to try and solve the mystery. "Why have we got an adult rabbit suddenly?"
In speaking with a man filming her, Kate expresses concern for Marvel.
"I feel a bit bad for Marvel being just suddenly dropped off at my house," she said.
The friend wonders if they should take the bunny out of its cage and hold it. Kate replies, "Marvel might bite me!"
Later, according to Buzzfeed, Kate told her followers that she found Marvel a loving home, but cautioned her fans against sending further unsolicited gifts.
"PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE however much someone loves animals please never send an unsolicited pet to someone's house, especially anonymously and especially on a boiling hot day where it could have been left outside to roast to death," she wrote on Instagram. "We have found a loving home for Marvel without cats but it was quite a shock and I think pretty unsettling for Marvel too."
She added, "Appreciate so much the good wishes but please please don't send anyone an animal as a present or a joke or really at all."
