It's no secret that children are expensive, but if Cardi B is pregnant, as has been reported, it's going to affect her bottom line in a another way — in a big way!
TMZ, who broke the news that she is expecting, said a pregnancy would make many of her upcoming high-paying business deals and commitments tricky to carry out.
She could easily lose out on hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The website says that the rapper is on pace to finish a new album before the end of the summer. After that, she's signed on for a two-month tour with Bruno Mars, which starts in September. TMZ said Cardi is three to four months along, which, if true, would mean she's due in August. Would she really be able to go out on tour immediately after birth?
Cardi also has other business opportunities in front of her, and she's been asked to collaborate with other artists. Capitalizing on her seemingly instant fame, she's also set to start filming a movie, TMZ said, which would be problematic with a growing baby bump.
In addition to all of that, Cardi is set to perform at Coachella in mid-April. Last year, Beyonce canceled her Coachella performance because of her pregnancy.
There is no set figure for how much Cardi makes for her projects, but industry experts estimate she's pulling down about $100,00 for a show and $60,000 for a nightclub appearance.
Cardi, for the record, has denied that she's expecting. On Instagram, she said, "I'm just getting fat. Let me fat in peace."
The rapper is scheduled to make a nightclub appearance in Los Angeles this weekend. All eyes will certainly be on the beverages she drinks, or doesn't drink.
