Back to work
Five weeks after a horrific car accident, Kevin Hart has gone back to work. E! News reported on Oct. 9 that Kevin is working on the marketing campaign for the upcoming "Jumanji" sequel alongside co-stars Dwayne Johnson, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover. The three reportedly reduced their work schedules to accommodate the healing actor, who suffered three spinal fractures when his classic car careened off the road and into a ditch. Kevin's co-stars were "happy to see him," E! reported. On Oct. 10, authorities revealed the cause of the accident: The driver operated the vehicle in a reckless manner. They also revealed that no one was wearing a seat belt.

Married!
Hilarie Burton and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have quietly tied the knot after a decade as a couple. The actress announced the surprise marriage on Instagram on Oct. 7. "This past weekend was the best of my entire life," she captioned a snapshot revealing her wedding dress. "There are dozens of thank yous I need to make. So bear with me over the next week as I gush over the amazing group of people who gave us this beautiful moment. But before we do any of that, Jeff and I just want to put it out there that WE GOT MARRIED! For real." She added that she felt married to the "Walking Dead" actor from the moment she met him. "I love you Jeffrey. I love our intimate group of friends and family who joined us. I love the various circles of loved ones who have supported us over the years," she wrote. "It was private and magical and everything I dreamed. So yeah. I'm Mrs. Morgan." Jeffrey revealed on Instagram that two of his friends and co-stars — Jensen Ackles and Norman Reedus — officiated the nuptials.

On-set injury
"The Bachelor" Season 24 star Peter Weber is on the mend after suffering an injury while filming the ABC show in Costa Rica. Both Radar Online and Us Weekly reported that Peter got a massive gash on his face while out golfing and that it required nearly two dozen stitches. "He went to step on the [golf] cart but fell and and split his face open on two cocktail glasses he was carrying," a source told Radar. A separate source told Us, "It was a two-hour drive from the course to the hospital in San Jose; he got 22 stitches in his face. The reason he traveled for two hours to a hospital was that this specific hospital had a surgeon that specialized in his injuries. He underwent surgery." But a source told People magazine that "Pilot Pete" bounced back quickly from what they described as a "golf cart mishap." People's source said, "It's not as bad as what is being reported!"

Rape accusation, denial
More allegations of sexual misconduct were levied against Matt Lauer this week, but this time, one claim is far more serious: rape. He denied the accusation. Matt was fired from NBC and the "Today" show in November 2017 following credible claims of inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace. In Ronan Farrow's new book, "Catch and Kill," the former NBC staffer whose report led to Matt's firing — Brooke Nevils — alleges that the disgraced newsman raped her in his hotel room while they were in Russia covering the 2014 Winter Olympics. Brooke eventually confided in her boss, former "Today" host Meredith Vieira, and went to human resources. In a lengthy and detailed open letter, Matt claimed the sexual relationship, which he characterized as an "extramarital, but consensual" affair, continued long after the hotel incident, during which, he claims, Brooke "was a fully enthusiastic and willing partner." Brooke has branded Matt's letter a "case study in victim shaming."
Hospitalized
Miley Cyrus was hospitalized this week after being diagnosed with tonsillitis. The singer posted several pictures and videos on Instagram on Oct. 8 and 9 documenting her stay. Among the images was one of her mom brushing her hair. But the pics that really made headlines featured one of Miley's visitors, new "bf" Cody Simpson, who's been dating her since early October. "Suddenly I am feeling much better," Miley captioned a clip of the Australian pop star playing his guitar and singing for her as she reclined in her hospital bed. In another clip, she added, "This sweeeeeet guy came to visit at the hospital and sang the sweeeeeetest song he just wrote for me." Cody also posted a brief clip from his visit with Miley on his own Instagram Stories, writing, "Singing something special I wrote for my golden thing while she's sick in hospital." Miley, by the way, is now pressuring him to release the song. She was back home but still recovering on Oct. 10.
Moving on
Like soon-to-be-ex-wife Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth is moving on. The actor was spotted in New York City on Oct. 10 holding hands with Australian actress Maddison Brown, who appears on The CW show "Dynasty." The two also enjoyed a meal and some drinks together, TMZ reported. This is the first woman to whom Liam has been romantically linked since he filed to divorce Miley in August. Miley, meanwhile, is currently seeing Australian pop star Cody Simpson following a romance with reality TV star Kaitlynn Carter.
What. An. Ordeal.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Jen Harley have reportedly split up for good after the latest drama surrounding their off-and-on relationship. On Oct. 7, TMZ reported that, per an emergency protective order, the "Jersey Shore" star was required to stay 100 yards from Jen until Oct. 11. The order did not prevent him from seeing their 18-month-old daughter, Ariana. The protective order also required him to stay away from the home he and Jen share in Las Vegas, TMZ reported, adding that if Ronnie needed to go there for any of his belongings, he needed have police escort him. However, on the day the order was expected to expire, TMZ reported that Ronnie would not fight Jen going back to court to get an order of protection that covers her and Ariana until he's arraigned on kidnapping charges. Those came after Ronnie was arrested in Los Angeles on Oct. 4 after a disturbing domestic violence incident: He was accused of chasing Jen with a knife during a moment of rage, something he denies. Ronnie also allegedly holed up (with their daughter) in a home he and Jen were renting. Police had to tase him and handcuff him to a gurney.
More charges
Cuba Gooding Jr. is facing more legal troubles. In June, he was charged with one count of misdemeanor forcible touching and one count of sexual abuse in the third degree after a woman accused him of groping her breast at a New York City club. Now the Oscar-winning actor, who's denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty, is facing a new allegation, it was announced on Oct. 10, although the exact nature of the new charge isn't known. Cuba will be arraigned on Oct. 15 in connection with what authorities called "another incident" that is "outside the Manhattan Criminal Court's jurisdiction." As a result, his groping trial has been postponed.
Daytime gig
The daytime talk show circuit is getting more crowded. On Oct. 10, CBS announced that Drew Barrymore will be getting her own syndicated daytime talk show. "It is beyond my wildest dreams to have this opportunity for a daily talk show," she said in a statement. "I'm truly thrilled and honored to be creating this show with CBS." The show is expected to launch in the fall of 2020. Drew joins a daytime field that includes Ellen DeGeneres, Kelly Clarkson and Tamron Hall, among others. Nick Cannon is also set to launch a daytime show next year.
Rehab completed!
Heather Locklear has completed her time in rehab, according to court documents filed by her attorney on Oct. 9. A judge ordered the "Melrose Place" actress to rehab for 30 days as part of her police battery case from 2018. "Entertainment Tonight" reported that Heather must remain on probation and continue to seek therapy through outpatient programs as part of her plea agreement.
