Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander have tied the knot! Multiple media outlets confirmed that the actors wed at La Granja farmstead resort in Ibiza, Spain, on Oct. 14, after three years of dating. Both Alicia and Michael were seen wearing wedding rings the following day at what appeared to be a casual post-nuptial brunch with friends and family. The couple has been very private about their relationship. In 2014, she was asked by Entertainment Weekly how they keep things quiet and she replied, "I think we've made a clear statement that we keep certain things just between us. It was very easy to unite, but that's quite personal." He was asked a similar question and replied, "Each to their own. I'm not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger, unless I feel like I need to. Why would I? I don't." Fair enough, but congrats, nonetheless.

Sexual misconduct scandal
This story is messy. Really, really messy. Dozens of A-list actresses, B-list actresses and even former actresses came out in force this month to blast studio executive Harvey Weinstein, claiming he sexually harassed or sexually assaulted them. Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd and Lupita Nyong'o all said they were victims of unwanted advances. Rose McGowan accused him of rape. Within days, the Weinstein Company board eventually fired Harvey amid the scandal. Hillary Clinton, Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Mira Sorvino and Rosanna Arquette are among others who've denounced him. Ben Affleck said Harvey's actions are "completely unacceptable." George Clooney called his behavior "indefensible." Harvey admitted to some of the bad behavior — though his lawyers later claimed every encounter was consensual — saying, "I came of age in the '60s and '70s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then. I appreciate the way I've behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it. Though I'm trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go." On Oct. 10, things got even more serious when The New Yorker alleged that he raped three women, including actress Asia Argento. He's denied it. Harvey's wife has also left him. He completed a week in outpatient rehab for his issues, and reportedly plans to seek additional help.

Celebrities from all walks of life stepped up for Las Vegas in early October in the wake of a mass shooting on Oct. 1 that claimed the lives of 58 people. Jason Aldean was on stage when the gunman opened fire. Country duo Florida Georgia Line, the Chainsmokers and Kid Rock donated $10,000 to a GoFundMe account that was set up for the victims' families. Hoda Kotb pitched in $1,000. Others like Jennifer Lopez and Ellen DeGeneres urged people to donate blood. Jimmy Kimmel, a Las Vegas native, used his platform to call for gun control. "Tell your Congresspeople to do something," he said. "It's not enough to send your love and prayers." Celine Dion returned to her Las Vegas stage on Oct. 3, less than 48 hours after the attack, and gave a touching tribute to the victims and survivors. "On Sunday we lost too many beautiful, innocent souls, and so many are still suffering. But tonight we're going to let these families know that we are supporting them and that we will help them through their tragic loss," she said, dedicating the show to those affected and the first responders. She donated all the profits from that show to victims and their families. Celine stood on stage with #VegasStrong signs on the big screen next to her. A few days after the attack, Jason returned to Vegas to visit victims.

R.I.P.
Tom Petty, a rock icon whose career spanned five decades, died on Oct. 2. He was 66. His longtime manager shared the sad news on Tom's official Twitter page. "On behalf of the Tom Petty family, we are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty. He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived. He died peacefully at 8:40 p.m. PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends." At his post-funeral reception, friends received special T-shirts.
Diva demands?
Meow! We all know by now that there will not be another installment of "Sex and the City" (at least one starring the original women). After reports surfaced claiming Kim Cattrall all but buried the project because of "diva demands," Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed there would be no three-quel, telling "Extra," "It's over… we're not doing it." Then Kim came after SJP. In an interview with Piers Morgan in October, Kim said, "It's quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I've been saying ['no' to] for almost a year … that I'm demanding or a diva," she said. "And this is really where I take to task the people from 'Sex and the City' and, specifically, Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer." She then doubled down on her stance, saying she's not interested in another "SATC" film. "The answer was always no, and a respectful, firm, no," she said. "I never asked for any money. I never asked for any projects. To be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous."
Baby bump debut
Duchess Kate gave us all a "bump" in the news in recent weeks. More than a month after it was announced that she was expecting baby No. 3 and once again was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum — characterized by severe nausea and vomiting — Kate debuted her baby bump on Oct. 10. But she found herself being body-shamed by critics who charged that her bump is too small. The royal, wearing a light blue lace Temperley dress, stepped out to support World Mental Health Day at an event at Buckingham Palace. Stephen Fry, president of mental health charity Mind, told reporters, "I do understand she's been having this problem more severely than many pregnant mothers and so we're very grateful [she's here]." On Oct. 17, Kensington Palace announced that Kate is due in April 2018.
Apology for insensitive joke
In 2011, Jason Momoa made a joke about rape. In mid-October, the joke resurfaced and came back to haunt him. Years ago, the actor was on a Comic-Con panel for "Game of Thrones," on which he portrayed violent character Khal Drogo, when he was asked what he loves about fantasy shows. "As far as sci-fi and fantasy, the genre, there's so many things you can do [with it]," he said. "Rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it, rape beautiful women." Clearly, this was meant as a joke — and the crowd laughed loudly in response. But the cast and crew of "GoT" grimaced and put their heads down and covered their faces as the crowd laughed. Jason, trying to keep it light, said "next question" and covered his face with his jacket. In October, he apologized for the six-year-old joke. "I awoke in Australia to the justified reactions by many people to a distasteful joke I made years ago in Hall H for which I am sorry," he wrote on Instagram. "I am still severely disappointed in myself at the insensitivity of my remarks that day. I know my sincerest apology now won't take away those hurtful words. Rape and sexual harassment can reach anyone and I have seen first hand its painful torment among members of my own family and friends. I made a truly tasteless comment. It is unacceptable and I sincerely apologize with a heavy heart for the words I said."
Start of a movement
The dust from the Harvey Weinstein scandal still hasn't settled in Hollywood (and it won't for a while) and, with the producer's actions in mind, two words began to dominate social media in mid-October: "Me Too." The #MeToo movement, which was started a decade ago by activist Tarana Burke, was given new life by actress Alyssa Milano in response to the former Miramax mogul's sexual misconduct scandal. On Oct. 15, the actress tweeted a message that read, "Suggested by a friend: If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote 'Me too' as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem." She then wrote "Me too" and tweeted, "If you've been sexually harassed or assaulted write 'me too' as a reply to this tweet." Within 24 hours, "#MeToo" had been tweeted half a million times. It's now appeared millions more. "A moment can create a movement. This is our moment. This is our movement. #MeToo," Alyssa wrote.
Rape accusation
Nelly's girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, is sticking by the rapper amid allegations that he raped another woman. Nelly, who was arrested on Oct. 7, has vehemently denied that the incident took place. The woman claimed she was raped on his tour bus in Washington after meeting him at a nightclub. Nelly's lawyer said, "Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness." He later said the woman is after "money, fame and notoriety." A few days after Nelly's arrest, the woman said she didn't want to testify or cooperate with the investigation.
Proactive about her health
Christina Applegate is already a breast cancer survivor, and she's now taking steps to continue to prioritize her health. The actress told "Today" on Oct. 11 that she recently had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. "My cousin passed away from ovarian cancer in 2008," she said. "I could prevent that. That's how I've taken control of everything. It's a relief. That's one other thing off the table." She then joked, "Now, let's hope I don't get hit by a bus."
Engaged
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are gonna get hitched! The "Game of Thrones" star took to Instagram on Oct. 15 to share a post flaunting her new engagement ring. She captioned it simply, "I said yes." Meanwhile, Joe shared the same picture with the caption, "She said yes." Joe and Sophie have been together for about a year.
Splitsville
Robert Pattinson is back on the market (and so is FKA Twigs, for that matter). The duo, who got engaged in 2015, broke up after three years together. "Rob is tired of it, has called off their engagement, and told friends they have split," a source told The Sun. "With so much history between them, though, there are still strong feelings there. It's a difficult situation, but things have become tough between them for some time and they both know they were no longer working as a couple." Last month, Twigs was seen without her engagement ring on, prompting many to speculate that they had called it quits. Neither has commented about the report, but a source told People magazine on Oct. 20, "They did break up. It was very recent… [But] I think they will eventually get back together. He still loves her and I think that's the girl he wants to marry." Since the split, Robert has been leaning on pal Katy Perry.
Apology
Ben Affleck was forced to apologize publicly on Oct. 11 for an incident that occurred 14 years ago. "One Tree Hill" alum Hilarie Burton confirmed that Ben grabbed her breast in 2003 while she appeared on MTV's "Total Request Live." She tweeted that she "had to laugh back then so I wouldn't cry." After video of the incident surfaced, Ben tweeted, "I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize." The incident resurfaced after Ben said that he felt "sickened" after hearing all the sexual misconduct claims about Harvey Weinstein, who executive produced his breakthrough film "Good Will Hunting."
Engaged soon… or already engaged?
So, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are on the verge of announcing an engagement, according to Us Weekly. In fact, Us spoke to multiple sources who think that the affable royal has already quietly proposed to the actress, and that she said yes. An announcement, one source speculated, is likely to come next month after Meghan wraps up her final season on "Suits." A Harry source told Us that he always planned to share the news only with parents at first "so he could enjoy it before word spread." Let us be among the first to say congrats… we think. Meanwhile, another report revealed that Meghan and Harry both enjoyed an informal teatime visit with the queen at Buckingham Palace in recent weeks, further fueling engagement speculation.
Robbed blind
Over a span of eight years, Marc Anthony was robbed of more than $2.5 million by an accounting employee… and he had no idea. The employee, Kyle Tessiero, had access to the singer's bank accounts and credit cards and began making purchases on Marc's cards beginning in 2009. Prosecutors said the employee used Marc's American Express card to run up millions in charges, which he paid for with cash out of Marc's bank account. An internal audit uncovered the spending. The employee was charged with first-degree grand larceny.
