"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" could be going country.
According to Jana Kramer, she and her husband recently auditioned to be on the reality TV show. The country singer made the reveal on her Whine Down podcast while she and her husband, Mike Caussin, spoke with Joe and Melissa Gorga of "Real Housewives of New Jersey."
"I was going to say something, but I wasn't sure if I could say it," Jana said. "We might have auditioned for a certain Housewives thing, but we haven't heard back yet. At the same time, I would be so afraid that we'd be eaten alive and spit out and then like canceled the next day."
The former "One Tree Hill" actress said she and Mike auditioned during quarantine because they "weren't doing anything else."
Joe and Melissa encouraged the couple to pursue the opportunity. Jana, though, admitted that being a "Housewife" would be challenging, not just because she'd likely have to move, at least part time, from Nashville to Los Angeles.
"I have not heard anything. I'm sure it's not going further, but it's fun to entertain," Jana said. "I think we'd get eaten up and spit out, I get a lot hated on for the things I say, because I'm very sarcastic. I wouldn't want to filter myself too much. It seems like, once you're in, people are going to love you or hate you and I have a hard time with criticism … I don't know if I can physically handle that."
The couple's audition, which happened via a video call, occurred in late May.
Although she's heard radio silence from Bravo, current "Housewives" star Teddi Mellencamp-Arroyave told Jana the audition "went good."
Bravo typically doesn't comment on casting rumors.
