Fans believe that John Cena is the secret donor who gifted $40,000 to Shad Gaspard's family, and there is evidence to support the theory.
Shad passed away last weekend while swimming with his 10-year-old son, Aryeh, off of Venice Beach in California. Reports said Shad, a former WWE wrestler, and his son got caught in a strong rip current. As lifeguards raced out to help, Shad directed them to help his son first. While lifeguards rescued the boy, Shad was swept out to sea. His body turned up three days later.
Shad has been hailed as a hero for sacrificing himself for his son.
Following the death, Shad's family set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral costs and other expenses. Shortly after, a $40,000 donation was made by a person going by the name "CTC RIP." Although there was no other name listed alongside the massive donation, clues link it to John.
First off, John was reportedly very close with Shad and his family and TMZ said he had made comments about wanting to help the family. In addition, "CTC" likely stands for Cryme Tyme Cenation, which was a tag team in the WWE in 2008 compromised of John, Shad and JTG.
On Sunday, John left another digital bread crumb, posting a photo from his CTC days. The "Blockers" actor didn't leave a caption, but the picture shows the wrestling trio spray painting a limousine. The letters CTC are clearly seen on the fender.
"Somebody with the name CTC RIP just donated $40,000 to the Shad Gaspard fundraiser, taking it over the 100k target," one person tweeted. "I'm fairly sure CTC stands for Cryme Tyme Cenation from when they briefly teamed together back in 2008 and that John Cena may have just done something incredible."
