It was in the summer of 2016 that rumors started circulating that reality TV star Khloe Kardashian and NBA stud Tristan Thompson were dating. The couple met after being set up on a blind date by her friend, basketball player Brandon Jennings. "I was at the Bel-Air Hotel. He came to the dinner. I didn't want to go on a blind date," she told Ryan Seacrest. "So Brandon kind of ambushed the blind date. So I had a bunch of people, and he brought him and we just connected." Khloe Kardashian confirmed her romance and spoke about her life in Cleveland with her man while appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in November 2016. "I live [in Los Angeles,] but I'm there very often," she said. "I actually really do [like spending time in Cleveland]. I actually really like it. I like just having my routine and being a little more under the radar."
Khloe Kardashian felt that she had found her happily ever after. "I am in love with him," she told "Extra" in December 2016. "I think he's, like, the best. And yeah, so I hope so. Only time will tell." Friends thought the basketball player was it for the reality TV star: "They've talked about getting married," a source told Us Weekly in February 2017. A second source said, "She'd be happy about an engagement." Khloe was even seen wearing a diamond ring on her left hand around that time, prompting engagement rumors. "Tristan is unbelievably good to her," a third source told Us, adding that "Khloe didn't think she was ever going to have [a serious relationship] again after Lamar." Said the insider, "The family loves Tristan and wants to see this work."
In August 2017, Khloe Kardashian admitted that she was basically head over heels for Tristan Thompson. "I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and it doesn't take a ring for me to feel that way," she told Mail on Sunday's YOU magazine. "I believe in marriage and I want to be married again one day but I don't have a time frame. Why do people think that marriage equates to happiness? There are a lot of people in unhealthy marriages." She even said that romance worked because they have the same "belief system and morals."
Baby on board! The word leaked out in September 2017 that Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were having a baby. The couple, though, would wait several months to actually confirm the news. On December 20, 2017, Khloe took to Instagram to debut her bump. "My greatest dream realized," she said, later adding, "Tristan, thank you for loving me the way that you do! Thank you for treating me like a Queen! Thank you for making me feel beautiful at all stages! Tristan, most of all, Thank you for making me a MOMMY!!! You have made this experience even more magical than I could have envisioned! I will never forget how wonderful you've been to me during this time! Thank you for making me so happy my love!"
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson revealed that they were having a girl on the season finale of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," which aired on March 4, 2018. "I am now so excited my daughter will have forever best friends with Chicago and Stormi!!" the expectant mom tweeted, referring to her new nieces. "God is great!!! Thank you Lord for our princess," she continued on Twitter.
A few weeks before she was set to give birth, Khloe Kardashian spoke about the qualities that she hopes to pass on to her little girl. "I want my baby to inherit my Butt. Both big booties, lol…well mine before pregnancy!" she wrote on her subscription-based website. In addition to that physical trait, the reality TV star said she wants her little one to have her "business savvy" — but Tristan's spending habits. A few days before that, she said, "I often think about what she'll look like and what her little personality will be like. She'll be the perfect mix of me and Tristan — which is such a crazy thought, LOL." She then added that she hopes her daughter will have Tristan's "IQ and my street smarts." Finally, on April 9, Khloe seemed ready for her little one to make her debut. "We are ready whenever you are little mama," she captioned a photo of her and Tristan kissing on Instagram.
The news was shocking. While Khloe Kardashian was just days from giving birth, video surfaced of Tristan Thompson cheating on her with multiple women. One video, published on April 10, appeared to show him kissing a woman at a New York City nightclub. The video was taken on April 7. He was also seen with that same woman at his hotel hotel in the early morning hours of April 8. After that video hit the Internet, another surfaced of him brazenly kissing a mystery woman at a hookah lounge outside Washington, D. C. The video was taken on October 7, 2017, when Khloe was three months pregnant. In that video, Tristan can clearly be seen making out with one woman while another puts her hand on his crotch. A second woman can also clearly be seen grabbing Tristan's head and bringing it to her breasts. He then moved his head back and forth. A source told People, "When Khloe first started dating Tristan, her family questioned if it was a good idea. There were several concerns, including that he is another basketball player and also that his ex was pregnant," said a source. "It took a while for the family to accept Tristan. They were worried that Khloe would end up heartbroken. Being on the road as an athlete, you face many temptations. But Tristan always assured Khloe's family that he was totally committed to Khloe. Khloe thinks the world of Tristan." After the video surfaced, a second source said, "They are heartbroken for Khloe."
On April 12, 2018, just days removed from the cheating scandal, Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson welcomed a daughter. The NBA star was on hand for the birth, as were her sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kourntey Kardashian. Her mom, Kris Jenner, and her BFF Malika Haqq were all there, too.
