Over the past few weeks, Instagram's started to feel a bit like one big quarantine makeover (or in some cases, makeunder) platform, with celebs and, frankly, everyone else in our feed, debuting a steady stream of new hair colors and styles, makeup-free selfies and DIY salon moves on a daily, if not hourly basis.
However, none of those transformations prepared us for the new look Khloe Kardashian debuted on Friday, May 22.
Whether it was the Good American designer's new "bronde" hair color, her super bronzed up skin or her extra taut-looking forehead, fans couldn't stop trying to pinpoint exactly what made Khloe suddenly look, as one Instagram user put it, like "a whole different person."
Some users suggested Khloe might be transforming into a specific different person — namely, her best friend, Malika.
The pals could have a go-to makeup artist or photographer in common, which might explain some of the similarities.
As Khloe's new look started trending on Twitter, though, users mostly just couldn't get past Khloe's seemingly different features. "I don't keep up with the Kardashians," wrote one person (via Cosmopolitan), "When did they recast Khloe?"
Another shared a side-by-side composite of Khloe from a few years ago with her latest look, cracking, "I hope Khloe Kardashian doesn't have a face ID security."
Jokes aside, it's not like Khloe hasn't stunned us before with a major overhaul in the appearance department. Back in 2008, she opted to wear her long, brown hair natural and stick with minimal makeup. Soon, she introduced ombre shades to her hair, then lightened it.
Fast forward to 2015 and Khloe was showing off a slimmed-down figure beneath shorter, ash blonde locks.
She toyed with going shorter and blonder … and longer and darker for the next few years, with a few distinct Marilyn moments along the way.
One Twitter user even compiled an entire gallery of Khloe's changing looks through the years.
Ultimately, though, most of Khloe's transformations have turned out to be gradual — or temporary, courtesy of the apparently on-call glam squad she has at her disposal.
Besides, when you've got nothing but quaran-time on your hands, what's the harm in shaking things up a bit — and looking good while you do it?
