Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are working to save their six-year marriage, a new report claims. But it's a "massive uphill battle," TMZ reports.
In July — amid reports that he and Kim were having problems and that he was in the midst of a bipolar episode — the rapper-designer tweeted and deleted that he'd been "trying to get divorced" for months.
Then Kanye — who on July 19 shocked fans when he revealed during his first presidential campaign rally that he and Kim had initially planned to abort their eldest child, 7-year-old daughter North West — publicly apologized to the reality TV star and beauty brand mogul. He tweeted on July 25, "I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter. I did not cover her like she has covered me. To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me."
After days of reportedly being ghosted by her husband, Kim flew to see Kanye in Cody, Wyoming — where he's been living on his $14 million ranch — and was photographed in the midst of what appeared to be a heated discussion with the music star on July 27. Photos of Kim in the car with Kanye show her crying.
On Aug. 2, photos emerged showing Kanye and son Saint boarding a private plane in Wyoming and hours later, TMZ — citing sources close to the West family — reported that Kim and Kanye are taking "a private family vacation to try and work things out." According to TMZ, the vacation is something the couple talked about when Kim was in Wyoming days earlier.
Aside from this family getaway, TMZ writes, "Kim and Kanye hadn't spent much time together outside family birthdays and holidays." The couple — who reunited in Wyoming for North's birthday in June — have not, TMZ explains, "seen each other much at all for months" as Kanye's been at his ranch and Kim's been based in California with their four children.
According to TMZ, this vacation "will be a time for [Kanye] to prove … he's willing to change for his family."
