Leah Remini thinks Tom Cruise's viral tirade on the set of "Mission: Impossible 7" isn't what it seems.
"Tom does not care about the families of his crew; this is all for publicity," she wrote in a piece for anti-Scientology site The Underground Bunker.
There is no love lost between Leah and Tom, as she's been critical of him and the Church of Scientology ever since she defected from the religion. She adds that Scientologists don't think COVID-19 is real, and say the fact that people believe Tom's rant is authentic is "just mindblowing."
"I would bet that Tom had this rant written for him and had his Scientology assistant record and release it," she wrote.
On Dec. 15, The Sun leaked audio of the actor laying into crew members on the set for violating COVID protocols. In the expletive-laced rant, Tom yells, "They are back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us, because they believe in us and what we're doing. We are creating thousands of jobs."
"I don't ever want to see it again. Ever!," Tom, who is a producer of the film, continued. "And if you don't do it, you're fired, and I see you do it again, you're f–ing gone."
After the tirade, many celebrities backed Tom. Leah clearly isn't one of them.
"Anything you see coming from Scientology and Scientologists, such as mask wearing and supposedly humanitarian efforts, is just a show. It's for public relations reasons only," she wrote, adding that Scientologists don't believe you can get the coronavirus through the air, but rather from associating with "suppressive persons."
"No one needs to be 'addressed' by Tom about safety codes," she continued. "What more likely happened was, two crew members who were in the same zone were talking to each other and Tom saw this as an opportunity to appear as the epitome of strength; of a leader who is taking this pandemic very seriously. This behavior is not normal or appropriate. No one can respond to his outburst without being fired. And again, this is not a pandemic that Tom and Scientology believe in."
The whole thing and the ensuing praise Tom received from those in Hollywood is "a farce," she said.
"Tom's reaction that was released yesterday shows his true personality. He is an abusive person," she alleged. "I witnessed it, I've been a recipient of it on a small level, and I've been told of similar abuse by his former girlfriend, his employees, and his friends. This is the real Tom."
