It's already been quite the holiday season for Mick Jagger and his girlfriend.
According to a new report, the Rolling Stones frontman purchased a mansion near Sarasota, Florida, for his girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, with whom he shares 4-year-old son Devereaux.
Page Six said the couple chose the area due to its privacy, as it's the antithesis to New York City and London, where Mick and Melanie spend the majority of their time. The privacy of the Florida home was a "major factor" in the decision, the report says.
Regardless of the new home, Mick, 77, and Melanie, 34, plan to celebrate Christmas in London this year, as opposed to the singer's usual holiday retreat in the Caribbean.
Although Mick and Melanie have now been together for six-and-a-half years, marriage isn't necessarily in their future, but friends think it might be.
"His friends and bandmates aren't buying wedding gifts just yet," a source said. "Time will tell. In the meantime, the two are happy playing house in all of Mick's properties around the world."
The couple has reportedly grown closer during the pandemic. In an interview last month, she said, "I actually went for a quick trip to Europe — and then the world shut down. So I stayed in Europe the whole time because it's important for me and my son, for us to stay together as a family, especially with the uncertain times."
Melanie was also by Mick's side during his heart surgery last year. The rocker returned to the stage a few months later and has posted Instagram videos to show that he's in tiptop shape.
"He has made a complete recovery, and is making his signature moves in private rehearsals," the source said. "He tells insiders the Stones hope to tour in 2021, or when it's safe to return to the stage."
