In the few months that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have lived in Los Angeles following their exit as working senior members of Britain's royal family, they've struck up a few friendships.
One of those, claims a new report, is with another famous England-to-Hollywood transplant: Adele.
The British singer and the royals currently live close to each other in Beverly Hills, reports Britain's Daily Mirror. While Adele owns her home, where she lives with son Angelo following her 2019 split from husband Simon Konecki, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been staying at entertainer and filmmaker Tyler Perry's ultra-private Tuscan-style mansion with son Archie, 1, and their two dogs.
"Adele's just five minutes from Harry and Meghan and they've swapped notes on the area," a source told the Daily Mirror. "Adele loves the neighborhood. She's also recommended her 4-year-old son Angelo's preschool and discreet places to take Archie where they won't be bombarded by fans."
Reports have revealed that Harry and Meghan are hoping to buy a home base in the L.A. area — it's where Meghan grew up and where her mother, Doria Ragland, still lives — but with the coronavirus pandemic raging on, they have yet to decide on where, exactly, they want to put down roots.
"Meghan and Harry want to see how they get on in the area first before they commit to buying somewhere," the source explained.
According to the U.K. newspaper, the Sussexes and Adele first bonded in late 2018 while visiting a community kitchen serving families affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
It also points out that back in 2011, Adele spoke about then-bachelor Harry, telling Glamour magazine that she was "after" the party prince because she thought his love of a good time would be a "right laugh." According to the source, Adele has since joked about her comments with Meghan.
The trio's growing friendship has been a boon in the wake of Harry and Meghan's tension-filled exit from British royal life. "All three of them get on so well," said the source. "Meghan admires how Adele has managed to keep out of the spotlight despite being a huge star. And she is a big fan of her album '21,' which she says helped her through her divorce from [producer Trevor] Engelson."
The Sussexes moved to L.A. this spring after first spending several months based in a rental home on Canada's Vancouver Island. It's believed that Tyler offered them the use of his place — a 25,000-square-foot mega-mansion with eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms that's located inside a 14-home guard-gated community — after they all struck up a relationship via mutual friend Oprah Winfrey.
