More than three weeks after a house fire raged through her remote upstate New York mansion on Aug. 9, causing extensive damage to the second floor and roof, Rachael Ray is back in the kitchen — albeit a different one.
Though the first floor of her house — where her state-of-art kitchen is located — largely avoided the flames and mainly suffered water damage, sparing the kitchen, the affable television chef has been unable to move back in.
In a Sept. 1 Instagram post — only her third since the fire — Rachael revealed where she's living now, and where she's cooking. "Getting used to the new kitchen in the guest house, where we are now the permanent guests 🏠 …," she captioned a slideshow of mouthwatering dishes.

In the five-slide post, Rachael showed photos of and shared recipes for roasted tomato lasagna, a make-your-own-takeout skillet Thai chicken dish, Tuscan lasagna with a creamy bechamel sauce, steaks cooked in a cast iron skillet and finished in the oven, and a tomato and onion salad.
Lifestyle expert Tommy DiDario, a contributor to the TV chef's eponymous television show, took to the comments to praise Rachael, writing, "Mouth. Watering. As always, slaying the food game, no matter where you are ❤️."
Rachael's fire-damaged home is located in a fairly remote area where there are no nearby fire hydrants. Firefighters had to use pond water to douse the blaze. Rachael and her husband, John Cusimano, were unharmed and able to escape the structure with the chef's mother and their dog. "We're all okay," Rachael later said in a statement. "These are the days we all have to be grateful for what we have, not what we've lost."

Rachael had been filming her eponymous talk show and cooking segments at the home amid the coronavirus pandemic. State fire officials later determined the blaze was started by accident in a chimney.
On Aug. 25, John took to Instagram to mark his wife's 52nd birthday.
"Happy Birthday to my wife, my love, my life, and the prettiest girl to ever flip a burger, @rachaelray," he captioned a photo of the star.
