Garrett Dotson, the son of "Storage Wars" stars Dan and Laura Dotson, is recovering after being shot in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Laura told TMZ that Garrett was walking a woman to her car when someone uttered something to him. Moments later, he was shot. The bullet reportedly hit a main blood vessel to his heart.
Garrett, 22, was able to call 911, and he was soon taken to a local hospital. In addition to the issue with the main blood vessel, Garrett also suffered a fractured spine. Because of the extent of the injuries, Garrett had to be airlifted to a medical facility in Las Vegas, which is about 150 miles from Lake Havasu.
TMZ, citing Laura, reported things got very, very dicey during the transport.
"A doctor's hand was in Garrett's chest to stop the bleeding," the report noted.
The A&E reality TV stars have already credited that doctor with saving Garrett's life.
Dan detailed the traumatic incident on Twitter on Sept. 13.
"The call you never want: Your son's been shot while in Lake Havasu," Dan tweeted. "They said he's stable. #prayersplease."
"Things changed from stable to critical condition airlifted to Las Vegas just landed in surgery now praise to our heavenly father," he wrote a few hours later.
After receiving news that Garrett had been stabilized, Dan thanked the aforementioned doctor.
"Thank you to the surgeon that saved my son from bleeding out on the air trip to Vegas Thank you everyone for the prayers & positive thoughts thrown our way," the reality TV auctioneer tweeted. "Garrett is out of surgery & is expected to survive #prayerworks #prayerwarriors thank you God for sparing my son Garrett."
Lake Havasu police told TMZ they're investigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
