'Today' host undergoing vocal cord surgery, out 6 weeks

"Today" host Sheinelle Jones is undergoing vocal cord surgery that will keep her off the air for six weeks.

Sheinelle announced the news while hosting the "3rd Hour of Today" on Thursday.

"There's a piece of me that feels like it's a little bit of grace," she said. "Because it's a gift to sit still and do some soul searching, do some reading, do some writing. Nobody ever tells you you have permission to sit still."

The 41-year-old said she first noticed the issue four years ago and got diagnosed with a polyp, something common with people who use their voice often — it's especially common with singers. Sheinelle said she got vocal therapy and other non-surgical treatments to deal with the issue, but things began getting worse over the last year, so she's finally getting an hour-long surgical procedure to correct it.

After the surgery, the TV personality will not be allowed to speak for two weeks.

"When you talk, your vocal cords vibrate, and so because they're removing it, I'm going to be on vocal rest," she said. "I can't talk because they want those cords to heal without banging into each other."

Her last day before her hiatus will be Friday.

Sheinelle said she tied to explain her two-week no-talking requirement to her three children, but noted, "I booked a hotel room."

Joe Manganiello is unrecognizable after shaving his beard

Who's that man?

On Sunday, Joe Manganiello posted a picture of himself lounging by the pool. While the image appeared on his personal Instagram account, many assuredly may not have even recognized the actor since he shaved off his facial hair.

The "Magic Mike" actor didn't address the new look, instead captioning the photo, "Creepin." Bubbles, the dog he shares with wife Sofia Vergara, also appeared in the post.

The shaved look marks one of only a handful of times we've seen Joe fresh-faced.

"Wtf…omg I've never seen you without a beard," one person said. Another added, "That totally doesn't look like him?"

One fan wasn't enthused, writing, "Uhhh…yeahhhh…we're gonna need you to grow back your beard…"

Courteney Cox on 'Friends' reunion: 'We're going to have the best time'

Could they be more excited!

A few days after the "Friends" reunion was officially announced, Courteney Cox is speaking out, and she's every bit as thrilled as the rest of us.

Billy Farrell/BFA.com

"So the exciting thing is that we're all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it's going to be on HBO Max, and I'm so excited. We're going to have the best time. It's going to be great," she told Kevin Nealon during a "Hiking with Kevin" YouTube episode. "But we really haven't all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had. It's gonna be fantastic."

Courteney, who famously played neat freak Monica Gellar, told Kevin that it's very rare for the original cast to all get together, although they did so in October at Jennifer Aniston's house (they also once all got together at Courteney's house.)

"The ideal for me—and we just actually recently did this, and it took forever. I don't know how many years it was, maybe 15 years—and we finally all got together and had dinner," she said. "And when we get together, which is never—it only happened…it just doesn't happen very often, like twice since we ended the show—it's just the most fun. We laugh so hard."

On Feb. 21, the stars of the hit '90s and early-aughts sitcom announced the reunion news on their social media pages, posting an old cast photo along with the caption, "It's happening."

Entertainment Weekly reported that all six original cast members — Jennifer, Courteney, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer — will reunite for an exclusive untitled unscripted special on WarnerMedia's new streaming platform HBO Max in May.

Kevin Reilly, chief content officer of HBO Max and president of TBS, TNT and truTV, said in a statement, "Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together."

'Shark Tank' star duped out of $400k in phishing scam

"Shark Tank" star Barbara Corcoran was taken for nearly $400,000 after her office was the victim of a phishing scam out of China.

One small typo was all the difference.

According to TMZ, an email chain was forwarded to Barbara's bookkeeper that appeared to show the reality TV star's executive assistant saying that Barbara had approved a $388,700.11 payment to a company called FFH Concept GmbH in Germany. However, the email didn't come from her executive assistant, but rather from an email that looked just like it.

The bookkeeper asked the standard questions, and all the answers seems to line up with Barbara's real estate dealings in Germany. However, the bookkeeper didn't notice that the scammers changed the assistant's email address by removing one letter, so unbeknownst to her, they were the ones actually communicating.

TMZ reports that the bookkeeper sent off the requested wire payment to the account listed in the original email. Afterward, she messaged the assistant at her real email. It was then that they discovered they had been victimized.

Barbara's team traced the original scam emails back to a Chinese IP address. Her attorney's are now looking into the matter, but it appears that the money is gone.

Chris Harrison on Bachelor's rumored romance with show producer

The mystery surrounding "The Bachelor" this season doesn't seem to be if Peter Weber found love, but rather did he find love on screen or off screen?

For several weeks, rumors have circulated that Peter is not dating any of the women who starred in the show, but rather "The Bachelor" producer Julie LaPlaca. On Tuesday, less than two weeks before the season's finale, "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison weighed in on Peter's relationship status with Julie, while still playing somewhat coy.

"I'll just say this, it's an intimate relationship," the longtime host told Access. "You spend that much time together, we all get close. Sometimes those lines get blurred."

Over the past two months, Peter and Julie have appeared together in several social media photos, one of which was posted by Peter's father from a Dec. 31 lunch in New York City, implying the reality TV star and Julie rang in the new year together with his family.

Last week, Page Six shared footage of "Pilot Pete" and Julie at a winery near Los Angeles, where they were joined by his mom, Barbara.

None of three women remaining on the show — Hannah Ann Sluss, Madison Prewitt and the controversial Victoria Fuller — were nearby. In light of the speculation, Chris said there really aren't a lot of rules for "The Bachelor."

"The only rules are, Peter needs to have the best opportunity to find love, or whoever the 'Bachelor' or 'Bachelorette' is," Chris said. "If something were to mess that up, then we would try to step in, and we would help."

Last week, Chris was asked about the Peter-producer rumor.

"I'll say this, Julie is an amazing talented producer. She's a smart, talented woman and a great producer," he said. "Far be it from me to get in the middle of the good rumor."

Gwyneth Paltrow dons mask on flight amid Coronavirus outbreak

Amid coronavirus concerns, Gwyneth Paltrow masked up while traveling to Europe.

On Wednesday, the actress posted a picture to Instagram that showed her wearing a mask on her face while trying to protect from infection.

"En route to Paris. Paranoid? Prudent? Panicked? Placid? Pandemic? Propaganda? Paltrow's just going to go ahead and sleep with this thing on the plane," she captioned the selfie.

Gwyneth then joked about her role in the 2011 medical action thriller "Contagion" alongside Matt Damon, in which her character died from a deadly disease.

"I've already been in this movie," Gwyn joked. "Stay safe. Don't shake hands. Wash hands frequently."

The coronavirus has been tightening its grip in the world, as 80,000 people globally are said to be infected with the virus, which has caused 2,700 deaths. CNN reported on Wednesday that the virus has now spread to every continent except Antarctica.

The virus has actually sparked interest in "Contagion," as it jumped to No. 10 on the United States iTunes renting chart last month, The Daily Mail said. The 25-year-old film "Outbreak" also reentered the top 100.

Gwyneth's post caught the eye of her celebrity friends, with many urging her to stay safe.

"Do it girl," Brooklyn Decker wrote.

Chelsea Handler wrote, "You stay safe. Without you, who would have known about ice sold show shows???"

Olly Murs shows of dramatic weight loss in side-by-side pic

Olly Murs is a drastically different man than he was at the beginning of 2020.

On Tuesday, the "Please Don't Let Me Go" singer posted a side-by-side image of himself. One image is from today, and the other is from eight weeks ago. The difference is startling.

"Ain't bad for 35yr old! My ambition to be a 'butler in the buff' is coming true," he joked. "The pic on the left was 2nd January!"

Olly said he decided to changed his lifestyle two months ago after looking in the mirror and believing he looked "massive."

"Weight was doing me no favours, grumpy, no energy, sleeping was awful so I made some adjustments and I'm actually buzzing now," he said, joking, "I'm off to get a McDonald's 🤣👏🏻"

Olly doesn't indicate how he got into shape so quickly, but it's safe to assume that his girlfriend, Amelia Tank, helped him, as she's a competitive bodybuilder and personal trainer.

"The Voice U.K." judge was never overweight, but he added a few pounds after undergoing a "serious" knee operation in June 2019. At the time, he said was taking a social media break.

"I'm also going to use this time as an opportunity to take myself off social media for a while – focus on my recovery and spend some time on myself, with friends and family," he said.

Earlier in the month, Olly gave his followers a sneak peek of his fit physique, posing shirtless with his girlfriend.

Paris Hilton on ending engagement: 'Best decision I've ever made'

Considering Paris Hilton openly gushed about Chris Zylka when they were together, it probably came as a shock when she abruptly ended the 11-month engagement to the actor in late 2018.

Now, she's calling that the "best decision" she's ever made.

"It was the best decision I've ever made in my life," she told Cosmopolitan U.K of her split. "I just don't think [he] was the right person and I feel like I'm an incredible woman and I deserve someone so amazing. It just didn't feel right. I've worked way too hard to just give my life to someone. They have to be perfect."

Paris and "The Leftovers" star began dating in early 2017, and they got engaged a year later over a holiday vacation in Aspen. But, somewhere amid planning multiple wedding celebrations and losing her $2 million engagement ring in a nightclub, the couple parted ways. There was a time, though, when Paris and Chris were essentially inseparable. In fact, she gushed to E! News that she found her future husband.

"I've never been surer of anything in my life," she said in 2017. "He's so incredible in every way. We've actually been friends for a really long time, like the past six years. We just now started being serious in the past few months and it's really just changed my life in so many ways and brought so much happiness to my life. I feel so safe and he's so special. We're best friends and we're together every minute. I don't know what else I could ask for. He's perfect for me."

The reality TV star-turned-mogul is now singing a different tune, and despite being linked to entrepreneur Carter Reum, Paris tells Cosmo U.K. she's single and in "me time" mode.

"With dating certain people, [there's the risk of] not trusting them and the fear [that] if I go out of town they might do something to embarrass me. I feel lucky now to not have that fear because I'm independent," she said. "It feels good to not have someone controlling me."

Beyoncé photos banned during Kobe memorial: Report

Beyonce is being accused of acting like a "diva" at Kobe Bryant's memorial in Los Angeles on Monday, allegedly forbidding photographers from taking her picture during her opening performance.

Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images for Disney

Editors at the Associated Press and Getty Images, two of the biggest and most respected photo agencies, told Page Six that their were two rules at the emotional memorial: no photos of Kobe and Vanessa Bryant's children and no photos of Beyonce.

"It is so offensive to Kobe's family and the fans, Beyoncé is so controlling of her image — she usually only allows approved selected images of her to be released — so no photographers at the Kobe memorial were allowed to take her picture. Really, at a memorial? Not even the family of Michael Jackson did that," a frustrated event insider said.

Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

Beyonce opened the show by performing her hit songs "XO" and "Halo."

"A Staples Center staffer was dispatched to make sure not a single camera was focused on the stage. The photographers couldn't believe it," the source said. "This doesn't help Beyoncé's image at all, it hurts her. It makes her look like a diva."

The source continued, "The memorial wasn't about her. The only shots of Bey that did emerge were screen grabs from TV. None of the other artists at the memorial asked for this, not Christina Aguilera, not Alicia Keys."

Mel C details fight that almost cost her Spice Girls job

The Spice Girls were all about sisterhood and "girl power," but it seems that there was some drama behind the scenes, and it almost cost one of them a spot in the legendary group.

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

While appearing on BBC's Desert Island Discs, Melanie "Mel C" Chisholm detailed a fight with Victoria Beckham at the 1996 Brit Awards that still resonates with her.

"This is a funny story," she said. "I was so hurt and embarrassed about the situation, I only started talking about it recently, but it's actually really funny … we were at the Brits and we all had a few [drinks] and on the way out there was a little scuffle between me and Victoria. We can't say this on air but I asked her to go away and I was told if that behavior ever happened again I'd be out."

Tristan Fewings/Getty Images

While she didn't detail the fight, Mel said the idea of her not being in the group was "devastating."

"To think that I could have messed it up and lost it all, I begun to be really really hard on myself," she said. "I'm literally all putting this all together in my head now, my therapist would be very proud of me. I think that was the start of where some of my problems came, because I had to be very strict with myself, I couldn't allow myself to relax, because if I did I might mess it all up."

Mel C has been open about the friction within the group. Last year she indicated she was "bullied" in the group and was confused about her "Sporty Spice" label.

"I am sporty and athletic, but I am quite soft and gentle really," she said. "I was described as the plain one at the back that doesn't really do much, doesn't really say much. And that's really hurtful when you're a young, aspiring pop star. That really hurts. I tried to make myself perfect. I ended up making myself really ill. I was anorexic for a few years. I was exercising obsessively and I ended up being incredibly depressed."

It was actually a "relief" when she was diagnosed with depression.

"That was the beginning of my road to recovery," she said, "which took a really long time."

While the group has never "officially" broken up, they've all gone their separate ways, but they have reunited over the years, having performed at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. They also reunited last year — without Victoria — during their hugely successful tour.

"When we're together on that stage, we are formidable," Mel C said, "and we would kill for each other."
