The 2017 BET Awards are over, and now it's time for the really fun part — critiquing the fashion! From tons of neutral hues to plenty of sheer dresses and thigh-high slits, the gray carpet certainly didn't disappoint! First up, this fashion miss courtesy of Jada Pinkett Smith! Saying we weren't fans of Jada's Alexandre Vauthier gown would be a massive understatement. The star wore this painfully shiny gold frock, which featured a plunging neckline, a slit and a bizarre extra choker-slash-scarf-like addition around the neck. Let's see if it's any better from another angle…

From the back, the strange choker-like addition to Jada Pinkett Smith's dress appears more like a skinny cape… which is even more puzzling. But we did like that pop of color that the soles of her black Christian Louboutins provided!
Our best dressed man of the night? Big Sean! The rapper represented the men well in the fashion department, rocking this crimson velour suit with a white T-shirt. Completing this impossibly cool look? Those classic Gucci sneakers.
Though we loved the monochromatic concept, we wish Dascha Polanco would have picked different separates for this look. Her white jacket featured a massive, over-the-top ruffle on the right side that we could have done without, and we're even more confused as to why she went with a different, shiny fabric for those wide-legged pants.
We loved Sierra McClain's take on a suit jacket — rock it as a dress! The star wore this cream colored jacket buttoned and kept things cool by rolling up the sleeves a bit. Extra points for pairing the neutral shade with those metallic sandals too!
Obsessed! Lil Mama jumped on the neutral shade trend, selecting this beautiful gown. The bodice of the dress featured stunning embellishments, including beading along the plunging neckline, and the flowing skirt included a thigh-high slit on the left side. We also liked how she paired the shade with those metallic heels peeking out. Next up, a better look at all that pretty detailing…
The delicate jeweled detailing on Lil Mama's glam gown is even more beautiful up close. We're also obsessed with her flawless beauty look — especially that poppin' lip gloss (sorry, we had to!) — in that rosy hue. A+, Lil Mama!
Blac Chyna opted for a sheer look on the gray carpet, which showed off plenty of skin as well as some of the reality star's leg tattoos. Though we're still tired of the all-over sheer look, the dramatic sleeves and belted waist separated this look from the dozens of other sheer ensembles we've seen this year.
We're obsessed with Khalid's music, so it's only fitting that we're in love with his style too! The artist rocked this triangle-emblazoned dress shirt paired with on-trend cropped teal pants and lace-up utility boots for an impossibly cool look on the gray carpet.
Cutouts upon cutouts! Kat Graham arrived at the BET Awards in this funky frock by Raisa & Vanessa, which had some of the strangest placed cutouts we've seen in a while! The long-sleeved black-and-white printed gown featured navy blue-bordered circular cutouts that nearly formed a figure eight on her chest. But the front wasn't the only side that showed a lot of skin. Next up, a look at the back of Kat's dress!
The back of Kat Graham's Raisa & Vanessa dress also embraced cutouts, with a nearly backless design bordered by the same shade of navy blue. Though we weren't huge advocates of the dress, we do like the way it showed off her tattoo.
Garcelle Beauvais' unfortunate gown at the BET Awards looked like it had the capability to fly away on its own! The striped minidress featured massive draping on the sleeves, making them more like costume wings than couture.
Denim at an award show is a hard look to pull off, but Yara Shahidi did it flawlessly at the BET Awards! The star donned this darling sleeveless Jonathan Simkhai dress and paired it with those playful dark blue Jimmy Choo sandals for an overall adorable, fun look on the gray carpet.
Amber Rose went with a minidress at the BET Awards. And while we liked the color and how it showed off her tattoos, we weren't fans of the shiny fabric. Or the fact that she wore sunglasses.
A rainbow-striped dream! Issa Rae rocked this darling colorfully striped jacket (sans undershirt) with a pair of frayed dress shorts for an unexpected but ridiculously cool combo.
What's going on here, Justine Skye? A train? Colorblocking? Fabric-mixing? The star's dress by The Blonds was trying to accomplish quite a few things at once with its bronze, strapless bodice that flowed into a sparkly, asymmetrical silver skirt that was all business in the front and party in the back. Unfortunately, the frock didn't nail any of those elements well.
Terri Seymour looked sleek and sophisticated on the gray carpet at the BET Awards. The "Extra" host opted for a form-fitting sparkly black number that fell just below the knee and paired it with those simple, yet fabulous, strappy black heels.
Sorry, Lil Yachty! But that T-shirt, baggy pants and sneaker combo just doesn't fly on an award show red carpet. The rapper landed himself amongst the misses. Better luck next year!
Just what this carpet needed! We loved former Destiny's Child member LeToya Luckett's dramatic floral gown, which brought a ton of glamour with its thigh-high slit, long, ruffled sleeves and lengthy train. This look was easily one of our favorites of the night!
Pink feathers are always a look! Logan Browning flawlessly executed this pink minidress, which was comprised of feathers dyed various shades of the pretty hue. And the white pumps were the perfect pick! Too cute!
Fat Joe kept things cool in this vintage Versace jacket. We liked how he paired the multicolored piece with an otherwise all-black ensemble. But the one thing we didn't like? Those shoes! Ugh!
Nafessa Williams left very little to the imagination on the BET Awards gray carpet. The actress sported this almost entirely sheer one-sleeved gown, made up of that too-shiny fabric, and we can't say we were into it.
Flawless! Miss USA Kara McCullough looked stunning on the gray carpet in this long-sleeved silver minidress. Her messy updo and silver platforms completed this pretty metallic look and solidified her as a fashion hit.
La La Anthony combined two trends we saw often on the gray BET Awards carpet, going with a dress that was both a neutral shade and sheer. Though we appreciated the unique neckline of the gown and the sheer long sleeves, the dull color coupled with a casual ponytail didn't make this look very memorable.
Though we liked the hue, we really wish Regina Hall's stylist would have gotten rid of all those wrinkles. The one-shouldered design with a thigh-high slit looked messy and needed to be steamed before hitting the carpet.
Queen Latifah looked fabulous at the BET Awards in this off-the-shoulder black dress. Our favorite part? The pretty skirt of the form-fitting gown, which featured a subtle striped and sheer fabric.
Leslie Jones brought a pop of vibrant color to the gray carpet, opting for this pretty emerald green halter gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. The white sandals were an unexpected and equally bright touch too!
Too cute! Skai Jackson's long-sleeved minidress featured a fun lip-emblazoned print of bedazzled smackers. Not only was the dress darling, but it was perfectly age-appropriate for the 15-year-old Disney star.
No! More! Sheer! Tamar Braxton donned this icy white frock with a halter neckline and strategically placed fabric detailing over a mostly sheer design, delivering an ensemble that looked anything but fresh.
Jhene Aiko not only looked fashionable in this pretty printed wrap dress, but crazy-comfortable. The singer's printed coral gown featured long sleeves and a tied belt, with equally cool nude lace-up heels.
French Montana livened up the carpet by throwing this loud, graphic-emblazoned coat over a white shirt, jeans and boots. Though we appreciated the effort, this wasn't the right look for an award show. Check out the back of this duster coat next.
The back of French Montana's coat featured a dragon graphic and detailing along the collar and sleeves. Maybe save this one for a night out next time, French?
A purple and green dream! We loved Sasha Banks' look, from the pretty purple hair to the gorgeous emerald minidress with exquisite netted detailing and fringe. Our only complaint? We wish she would have completed the look with a bolder pair of shoes.
We adored the front of Karrueche Tran's purple frock, with its vibrant hue, one-sleeved design and the way it looked with those equally pretty pink, sparkly pumps. Unfortunately, the back was a completely different story…
The back of Karrueche Tran's dress lost us. The backless design with its strange cape-like feature (similar to Jada Pinkett Smith's look) seemed unnecessary and ruined the otherwise chic ensemble.
Tyrese Gibson sure looked sleek at the BET Awards. The star rocked this well-tailored tuxedo, complete with sparkly lapels and an oversized bowtie, for a super-sharp look.
Former "America's Next Top Model" winner-turned-actress Eva Marcille arrived looking like she stepped out of a Free People catalog. Though we'd love her earthy ensemble for a day out, we're not sure it looks right for a red carpet setting.
Remy Ma rocked cascading blue beading for a uniquely pretty red carpet look. The sparkling, multicolored dress was a solid pick for the rapper!
Shaun Ross is a supermodel, so it's only fitting for him to slay an award show carpet. He did just that, rocking camo, a patterned, high-neck tee and insanely tall platform combat boots in a look that only a model could pull off. In fact, he pulled it off so well, we'll even excuse those sunglasses.
Jude Demorest channeled Priyanka Chopra's 2017 Met Gala look on the BET Awards carpet, opting for a trench-coat style dress. The star rocked hers off-the-shoulder and accessorized with strappy black heels and a matching choker for a fashion hit.
