More fallout over Jeffrey Tambor "Arrested Development" harassment claims

Earlier in May, Jeffrey Tambor opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about a particularly aggressive encounter he had during an earlier season of filming "Arrested Development" with co-star Jessica Walter. At the time, Jessica didn't discuss the situation, but during a Q&A session on May 23 to promote the new season of "Arrested Development," it inevitably came up. "[In] almost 60 years of working, I've never had anybody yell at me like that on a set and its hard to deal with, but I'm over it now," Jessica said while holding back tears. She went on to point out that while Jeffrey has never crossed the line sexually with anyone on the show, she did experience harassment that was inappropriate, even if her castmates didn't necessarily sympathize. "Jason [Bateman] says this happens all the time," Jessica said. "In, like, almost 60 years of working, I've never had anybody yell at me like that on set." After her comments made headlines, Jason faced online criticism for his earlier defense of Jeffrey's behavior. Jason promptly responded, calling it his "big learning moment" and explaining, "I was wrong here… I'm incredibly embarrassed and deeply sorry… I shouldn't have tried so hard to mansplain."

Ashton Kutcher surprises Ellen DeGeneres with huge donation

Ellen DeGeneres is usually the one giving amazing gifts to people who come on her show. But on her May 23 episode, Ashton Kutcher turned the tables on the talk-show host by giving her a generous gift that left her feeling quite emotional. The present? A $4 million donation to The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund, an organization that works to save gorillas in Rwanda. "You explained to me that if you weren't doing [your talk show] that what you would be working on is that project, right? You would be saving the gorillas," Ashton explained of why he and investment partner Guy Oseary wanted to donate so much through a tech company they're involved with, Ripple. "But you never ask anyone for anything ever and you said, 'At some point I'm going to need some help with this.' And I said, 'You're asking me for help? You never ask anyone for help, ever!'" Surprise, Ellen!

An "American Idol" winner and secret romance revealed!

Undercover romance! We might have gotten a new winner in Maddie Poppe when the "American Idol" finale aired on May 23, but the real win of the night came when runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson revealed that he'd been dating this season's victor during the entire competition. The young couple have been quietly seeing one another since January, but the relationship didn't affect how things went down on the final night of the series. "I mean, it was honestly, it wasn't as challenging as you might think," Caleb explained of losing to his significant other. "When I looked over at Maddie, I was like, I win either way. I really do. I don't feel any type of bitter loss at all. I'm just so happy for her."

James Corden dishes on the musician who walked out on "Carpool Karaoke"

Late-night host James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" segment is one of our favorite things to watch! But when Bryan Adams was booked to collaborate, he wasn't all that game once he found out who else was on board. "What happened was, for the anniversary of 'Back to the Future,' we were gonna do a sort of 'Best of the '80s Carpool Karaoke' … in a DeLorean," James explained. "I don't know that Bryan's management had told Bryan that it was a sort of a collaboration with lots of other singers from that time period." When Bryan walked in and saw the list of other artists involved, he "turned around, walked, and got in his car and left," James revealed, adding that he hasn't heard from the music star since. "He just bolted. He was gone."

Barack and Michelle Obama sign a multi-year production deal with Netflix

They're back! Nearly a year and a half after the end of his presidency, President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama are taking their talents to Netflix. On May 21, the streaming giant announced that it had entered into a multi-year deal to produce both scripted and unscripted projects with the politician and his attorney wife. "One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience," Barack explained. "That's why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix — we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world."

Leah Remini to explore Jehovah's Witness faith on next A&E project

As a former member of the controversial religion, it seemed fitting that Leah Remini's first major A&E project would be an exploration of Scientology. But her next show will focus on the Jehovah's Witness faith. It will air during the break after the third season of "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath." Details of the new show are sparse, but it's not surprising that Leah is keeping her focus on religion. The actress has been vocal about the many emails she gets from people from all different religions and walks of life who want to share their experiences.

ABC cancels "The Chew" and expands "Good Morning America"

After enduring months of negative headlines due to claims of harassment against Mario Batali — one of the show's hosts — ABC has decided to cancel "The Chew." The news comes after months of steadily building "Good Morning America" viewership. "We believe there is great opportunity for viewers and advertisers in expanding to a third hour," Ben Sherwood, the president of Disney Media Networks, explained. The network didn't announce when the show will officially go off the air, but it's understood that "The Chew" production will continue through September.

"The Bachelorette" alum Meredith Phillips says she was sexually assaulted during filming

Meredith Phillips starred on "The Bachelorette" in 2004 and has largely dropped out of the public eye since. But ahead of the show's latest season premiere, she did an interview with Reality Steve in which she claimed she was sexually assaulted during filming. She says a producer hired a female massage therapist to visit her at the show's rented mansion and that the woman gave her a mysterious pill. "I just assumed it was an aspirin or something to loosen up my back," she said. "And it definitely wasn't that, that's for sure." She went on to detail the encounter, alleging that the masseuse got into a bathtub with her and inappropriately touched her while she was unable to move. She says she woke up naked with no other memories of the encounter. Meredith explained that she never reported the incident so as not to jeopardize the future of the franchise and because she just wanted to move on with her life.

Kim Raver returns to "Grey's Anatomy"

She's back! After a brief hiatus, Kim Raver will be back to reprise her role as Dr. Teddy Altman on Season 15 of "Grey's Anatomy." Kim reprised her role briefly during season 14 and the last episode of the season showed the doctor's return to Seattle. "I am thrilled to reprise the role of Dr. Teddy Altman as a regular," Kim said of picking back up. "I have a special place in my heart for Teddy and feel very lucky to have the opportunity to continue her story."

Clint Walker passes away at 90

Clint Walker died at the age of 90 on May 21. His daughter confirmed to TMZ that the veteran actor passed away from congestive heart failure. Clint's most famous role was perhaps on the show "Cheyenne," on which he starred for 12 years.

Carson Kressley slammed for comparing Miss USA pageant to a Holocaust movie

Talk about putting your foot in your mouth! Carson Kressley sent the Twitterverse into a frenzy on May 20 while live tweeting the Miss USA competition. After the fashion expert and TV host wrote something about picking a winner being like "Sophie's Choice" — the movie in which Meryl Streep's character has to make the horrific decision of which of her children the Nazis would kill — fans skewered him on social media. He didn't offer up any explanation.
