From gifting a house for Mother's Day to buying an empty lot for $15 million, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at the latest news that proves stars are nothing like us. Kicking off our May 2020 list is this international actress and model… Priyanka Chopra is one celebrity who's stepped up her quarantine looks. Though she wears comfy clothes around the house, she also walks around in Christian Louboutin heels! The "Baywatch" actress told InStyle in May that she enjoys wearing her luxurious heels with her casual ensembles. "They look good with sweatpants!" she shared of the nearly $700 nude patent-leather pumps with a trademark red sole that she owns in high, mid and low heels. "The first time I had ever worn Christian's shoes was for a shoot. I had just watched "Sex and the City" and I was like, 'These are SJP's!' I was really excited about it. If you want to feel a little bit more normal right now, you wear an amazing pair of Louboutins with your sweatshirt, put your hair down, add some red lipstick — and you're dressed up for dinner." Louboutins and a sweatsuit? Talk about a celeb-only fashion statement! Keep reading for more…

Most people generally gift the women in their lives flowers and chocolates for Mother's Day, but not Julianne Hough: She gave mom Marriann a house! "This is yours, Mom," the actress-dancer said in a heartwarming May 10 Instagram video showcasing the big surprise, which left her mom beyond elated (she even hugged the tree in the front yard!) "My mother has given given given….. it's now time for her to receive," Julianne captioned the slide show of videos and a photo. "Happy Mother's Day Momma!" If only we could give such extravagant gifts to the people we love!

Talk about an amazing friend! On May 7, TMZ reported that since moving to Los Angeles in the spring, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have been staying at entertainer extraordinaire Tyler Perry's $18 million mansion in the Hollywood Hills while they shop for a home of their own. The Tuscan-style property, which is situated within the exclusive gated community of Beverly Ridge Estates contains a whopping eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. We're pretty sure the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and son Archie are quarantining just fine!

If only we could all take the same level of precaution. On May 16, supermodel Naomi Campbell took to Instagram to show off the full Tyvek suit, face mask, face shield and goggles she wears while traveling to protect herself from the coronavirus. The British star is no stranger to wearing protective gear during this time — she first debuted full body coveralls in March when she traveled through Los Angeles International Airport. While some people thought she was wearing the suit to be funny, the notorious germaphobe posted a video on her "Being Naomi" YouTube channel to clarify that she's not making light of the situation. "As this is a very sensitive time in the world, I'm not going to lie to you and say I'm not nervous to take this flight… I am," she said. "In all honesty, this is not a funny time. It's not a humorous time. I'm not doing this for laughs. This is how I feel comfortable traveling."
On May 5, NASA confirmed to CNN that the agency is working with Tom Cruise on plans to film a movie that will require him to be launched into outer space — yes, you read that correctly! During his time in the great unknown, the "Mission: Impossible" actor will stay at the International Space Station, which is in orbit 250 miles away from Earth. CNN also cited a recent NASA document that outlines the costs non-government space visitors pay to use the facilities at the International Space Station: A space tourist can expect to shell out $22,500 per day for air, food and other survival essentials. Talk about a pretty penny!
Stars are nothing like us… they get their vocal cords insured! On May 6, Hank Azaria — who's long voiced numerous characters on "The Simpsons" including Moe, the Comic Book Guy and police chief Wiggum (he announced in early 2020 that he'd no longer voice Apu because the character enforces negative stereotypes) — revealed that he made the decision to insure his vocal cords after a scary incident. "My voice blows out rather easily, so I have to watch it," he told talk show host and former "The Simpsons" writer Conan O'Brien during his #ConanAtHome series in early May. "I was having a rough time in my life, and I got into a screaming match. I totally blew out my voice, and it didn't come back for almost two weeks. I scared myself so bad that I actually got my vocal cords insured. Really." Hank also reflected on how grateful he is to work on the Matt Groening series. "When you think about the revenue I am lucky enough to bring in through 'The Simpsons'… That was a long time ago. A lot of money would have gone bye-bye if I couldn't make voices."
Another celebrity who gifted some extravagant Mother's Day gifts? Offset. On May 10, Cardi B took to Instagram to show off the luxurious items she received from her rapper husband. Among the expensive items were 30 containers of Rose Box arrangements (which start at $425 each) in shades of red, gold and purple as well as two new Hermes bags in lime green and turquoise — both of which cost more than $10,000 apiece! "Thank you papasotee ❤️," Cardi captioned a photo of her haul. Talk about fancy!
Leave it to the world's youngest self-made billionaire to purchase an empty lot with an enormous price tag. On May 6, TMZ reported that Kylie Jenner shelled out $15 million for a vacant 5-acre lot in Hidden Hills, California — a record real estate purchase for the area. The piece of land was formerly occupied by Miley Cyrus, who purchased it back in 2015 as a place to house her horses for three years. What's even more remarkable is that this wasn't the only expensive purchase the Kylie Cosmetics founder made in recent months: Just days earlier on April 24, TMZ reported that Kylie expanded her impressive real estate portfolio to include a 15,350-square-foot home in Holmby Hills that's worth $36.5 million. The house was initially listed for $45 million, so it looks like Kylie got a bit of a deal! In addition to having a guardhouse, a chef's kitchen, a resort-style pool, a home theatre and an outdoor projector screen, the stunning single-story estate also has two guest apartments. Looks like the youngest Jenner's friends can live large during quarantine too.
Only a celebrity would dispute their reported net worth with Forbes. In late April, the magazine reported that Kanye West had officially become hip hop's second billionaire (after JAY-Z) thanks to an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion. However, Kanye quickly disputed that figure, insisting it's less than his actual net worth of $3.3 billion. According to Forbes writer Zack O'Malley Greenburg, the "Jesus Is King" rapper texted him personally to accuse the business publication of "toying" with him. "It's $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count," Kanye explained. However, Zack pushed back on Kanye's assertion in another article and even likened him to President Donald Trump: "Welcome to the 10-digit club, Kanye. You may not like our number, but you've joined the highest company in that regard."
Gigi Hadid: supermodel, mom-to-be and "Cake Boss" superfan. On April 24, Gigi took to Instagram to share some photos chronicling her quarantine birthday festivities. Among the highlights from her big day? A customized birthday cake from the Cake Boss himself, Carlo's Bakery star Buddy Valastro. "The icing on the perfect quarantine bday was finding out my surprise everything-bagel-cake was made by the one and only Cake Boss @buddyvalastro who I have watched for over a decade," she wrote. "I CRIED REAL TEARS! BUDDY! This is a dream come true. I can't believe you made this cake for me while the bakery is closed. It means more to me than you know, and when we hopefully meet some day you will truly know that there almost isn't an episode I've missed. 10/10 would be a Carlo's intern whenever needed. 😆 Grateful, honored, your biggest fan. 🥯🥯🥯🥯🍰."
Especially during this time of uncertainty, it's always uplifting to hear how celebrities aren't like us in the best way possible. On April 20, a week after "Saturday Night Live" cast member Michael Che announced that he'd be paying one month's rent for people living in his late grandmother's public housing building in New York City, rapper and Cash Money Records founder Birdman announced a similar donation via Instagram. "I would like 2 offer to pay everybody rent for month of May (for those who in need) in residents area of UPTOWN New Orleans where I was born and raised at," he wrote. He went on to thank frontline workers and the St. Thomas public housing development where he grew up.
We'd expect nothing less from Chrissy Teigen! On May 1, the model and cookbook author took to her Instagram Stories to share her extensive collection of luxurious robes, aka her choice garment during quarantine (DailyMail.com has the screengrabs). "Loving this robe. A lot of you talk about my love of robes. This is Bernadette, one of my favorite robe brands," Chrissy said of the Antwerp, Belgium-based label that makes peignoirs that retail for more than $1,000 each. "And this is my robe rack in my room. These are what I live in. I love the robes. I really love them," she added as she flicked through dozens and dozens of the silky garments (more than 60 were visible!). We'd feel the same if we had the same gorgeous selection!
Imagine having a fortune this big! On May 13, MailOnline reported that singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has been named the U.K.'s richest musician under 30. Ed, 29, has a net worth of £200 million (which is about $244 million), according to the Sunday Times Rich List. And he isn't the only familiar name who made the exclusive list — singer Harry Styles is in second place while fellow former One Direction members Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik took third through seventh places.
Another celebrity who's been using her star power to help at-risk communities during this time? Khloe Kardashian. On April 18, TMZ reported that the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star has been paying for groceries for elderly shoppers at various Trader Joe's and Ralphs markets around Los Angeles. Since many grocery stores have been opening their doors early for seniors to shop without having to deal with crowds, Khloe, too, headed there early so she could foot the bills. She isn't giving back to just elderly shoppers though — TMZ also shared that Khloe bought gift cards for 200 grocery store employees around the L.A. area to help them provide food and supplies for their families.
Since being released from prison early due to personal health concerns amid the coronavirus pandemic, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has made the most of life beyond the bars. In early April, the asthmatic music star began home confinement — and promptly started blowing cash: TMZ reported on April 20 that he went on a luxury item spending spree via phone. Tekashi (real name: Daniel Hernandez) purchased "a fleet of luxury vehicles that includes a Ventadore, McLaren, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes Benz G-Wagon and a Range Rover," TMZ wrote. Among his other expensive purchases? A $300,000 chain shaped like a shark and four timepieces including a Richard Mille watch.
You'd have to be a celebrity for your beverage consumption to be deemed newsworthy! On May 4, Anderson Cooper appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" where he admitted that he'd only recently started drinking coffee! According to the 52-year-old TV journalist, sleep has been hard to come by since he became a father in late April. "I actually discovered coffee. I only allow myself two a day," he said. Anderson admitted he was shocked it had taken him decades to become a warm caffeine consumer. "I can't believe I've gone this long without coffee," he continued. "I like soda and I figured well there's soda, why have coffee? I don't like hot things so I thought what's the point. I've tried once or twice, on TV, a cup of coffee and I [didn't] see the point. But now I totally get it." Looks like he's one of us now!
