Chris Harrison is opening up about the drama surrounding the breakup of "Bachelor" couple Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph.
"It's hard for me," the longtime "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" host told E! News. "These are people. These are real people. They are really going through something traumatic. It's surprising. It's upsetting. It's difficult to hear."
On Sept. 14, a judge granted Cassie a temporary restraining order against Colton after she alleged that Colton, who headed season 23 of the "The Bachelor," was harassing her and her family and even covertly put a tracking device on her car.
In her complaint, Cassie attached several text messages from Colton which she claimed showed disturbing behavior.
"Ms. Randolph's friend, Caelan, visited her at her apartment. Mr. Underwood somehow immediately knew, and obsessively called and sent text messages to Ms. Randolph about the visit. Ms. Randolph was startled that he knew who was coming in and out of her apartment, and felt like she was being watched," the court records stated.
The restraining order expires Oct. 6.
"It's tough to read as a friend and a companion to both of these people and I know them both intimately," Chris said. "It was very difficult to hear and I feel terrible about it and I wish them both well."
A week after the restraining order, Cassie returned to social media. Colton hasn't posted on Instagram since August.
"I think they've done a good job of taking it out of the press and dealing with this personally, which is the right thing to do," Chris said. "But I welcome them both back eventually when all this is all said and done. I wish them all the best."
