Ice Cube is shrugging off fans who he claims are "mad" at him for working with President Trump.
Last month, Cube met with a top Trump advisor about his "Contract With Black America" initiative, which is essentially a list of issues he feels are affecting Black Americans.
"Let me get this straight, I get the president of the United States to agree to put over half a trillion dollars of capital in the Black Community (without an endorsement) and [people] are mad at me?" he tweeted on Nov. 5 while votes were still being counted and with the 2020 election still hanging in the balance.
The legendary rapper's fans weren't buying it.
"No, you got him to PROMISE to do that," one person said. "You think a con man with a history of lying and not paying people is gonna hold up his end of the deal? Come on, man."
Another said, "We won't see one red cent of that! You got played."
"We love you but we have absolutely no reason to trust him to live up to his end of the bargain," another tweeter commented. "His meeting with you was to sew distrust and disorder within the Black Community. Also, the timing was terrible."
Overall, Cube's fans have been upset with him for the past month, as they believe he was essentially endorsing Trump by meeting with his team. Cube, who once said he'd "never" vote for Trump, was accused by one fan of going to the "dark side" last month.
"Every side is the Darkside for us here in America. They're all the same until something changes for us. They all lie and they all cheat but we can't afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change. Our justice is bipartisan," he replied at the time.
Cube also scoffed at notions that he was being used as a political pawn or that he was a "sellout."
Prior to his Nov. 5 tweet, Cube also posted an illustration of sheep looking at a picture of a wolf and a lion. "Elections nowadays," the words embedding in the picture said. After someone asked who he endorsed of the two, Cube wrote, "Neither one…I've always endorsed the sheeple."
