Alex Trebek reveals his one regret in life
Just a few months before Alex Trebek announced he's been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, the 78-year-old shared with People his one major regret in life. It wasn't related to his 35 years hosting "Jeopardy" or anything else related to his career. It was about his wife. "I'm pretty satisfied with my life," he told the magazine. "But my wife Jean and I have been together almost 29 years, and I was thinking about President Bush when he died, and all the comments about his life about what a nice guy he is, and how he and his wife had been together 73 years. I thought, oh my gosh … if I'd just met Jean in my 20s we could have had a longer life together." He went on to joke, "I guess if I'd met her when I was in my 20s she wouldn't have been born yet. But hey, 29 years is pretty good!" The couple's 24-year age difference aside — she was reportedly 26 when they met — Alex made it clear in his announcement that he's put his faith in those closest to him when it comes to the disease. "Now normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I'm going to fight this and I'm going to keep working," he said in a video message. "And with the love and support of my family and friends, and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease." He also joked, "Truth told, I have to because under the terms of my contract, I have to host 'Jeopardy!' for three more years! So help me!" Alex and Jean wed in 1990 after meeting two years prior.
Heidi Pratt's 'diversity' response goes viral
Heidi Pratt must have missed a memo somewhere along the way from the original "The Hills" to the reboot. Because when Vogue asked her in an interview published Wednesday, March 6, to comment on the lack of diversity among the cast in the 2.0 version, she had this to say of her all-white co-stars: "We don't all look the same. I mean Audrina [Patridge] has darker hair. I feel like Mischa [Barton] has darker hair. … But, yeah, we're California girls and it's a group of friends, and that just happens to be the group that came together. But you know, that's just the way the show was. I have other, very diverse friends that are not featured on the show." The tone-deaf response quickly attracted attention on Twitter, according to Page Six. "Heidi Montag answering a question about diversity on 'The Hills' might as well have been Ron Burgundy thinking diversity is an old wooden ship…" wrote one user whose eyes could almost be heard rolling back in their sockets as he or she typed. "Girl, what!?!?! I can't even be upset!" wrote another. "She responsed [sic] exactly how I expected her to! Race simply does not matter in her world & if you think any of those girls have 'diverse friends' you're bugging!" Others wondered if there was anyone who watched "The Hills" for, as one commenter put it, "accurate POC representation." As of Thursday, Heidi had not responded to TooFab's request for comment on the viral response to her statement. "The Hills: New Beginnings" premieres this summer.
Justin Bieber shares a stream of random photos of Hailey Baldwin Bieber
Somebody's got his wife on the brain … Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Bieber have already spoken openly about the challenges they're facing as a young, married couple but those issues clearly haven't dimmed Justin's love for his lady. This week, the singer shared multiple, caption-free paparazzi shots of Hailey, one of which prompted the model to reply with an embarrassed monkey Emoji. Justin's mom noticed the sweet Insta-gesture, too, and chimed in with a heart-eyed Emoji to one of the pics, according to ET. The couple is currently in the midst of planning a second and more traditional wedding as a follow-up to their New York City courthouse "I dos" back in September. Though the date has reportedly been moved a handful of times, the two are said to be shooting for a destination wedding somewhere tropical in April or May.

Constance Wu, Ava DuVernay and Jessica Chastain talk Time's Up and 'what power looks like in 2019'
Since its inception on New Year's Day 2018, Time's Up has put ideas about creating greater diversity and equality for women and in the workplace into action, particularly in the entertainment sector, where women like Constance Wu, Ava DuVernay and Jessica Chastain have become leaders in the fight. Dubbed three of "the organization's most engaged women" by Time's Up Entertainment's Executive Director Nithya Raman, the award-winning actresses recently stepped up again to share their thoughts on the campaign, this time with Marie Claire for the magazine's April cover story. "Diversity isn't just 'Let's have people of color supporting this white person's story,'" says Wu, who recalls being told in a meeting with a studio exec that any lack of diversity in Hollywood can be attributed to "the numbers, what movies people go see." The "Crazy Rich Asians" star says at the time she "just looked at him and said, 'I think you're dumb.'" She continues: "What he was saying was such bulls—. If you want to talk about whether or not an Asian person, or a person of color, or a trans person can open a studio movie, you can't argue, 'That's not going to sell!' because you've never done it before! I think he thought because I'm a female actor and he's super high-powered that I would try to make nice. But I don't give a f—." Wu also points out that the notion "women are inherently bitchy and competitive" doesn't hold. "… Anybody will be competitive if there's only one seat at the table," she notes. For DuVernay, part of the struggle involves bearing the past in mind. "It's happened before, and we're here, standing and continuing forward," she says. "We continue to find beauty, we continue to triumph, we continue to live and love and do all kinds of things that the people who are against us would rather we not do. The fact that I can go into a restaurant and be served—this is something that wasn't a reality two generations ago. Sometimes I want to say to folks, 'Get a grip. Buck up and really look at where we've been, look at where others are, and keep stepping forward.'" Chastain, meanwhile, remains committed to finding stories for women through her all-female staffed production company, Freckle Films, which recently secured more than $80 million for the forthcoming spy flick, "355." The five lead actresses, Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o, Penélope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Bing-bing Fan, will all get the same pay plus equity for their contributions, according to Marie Claire. "I've had people tell me, 'You need to be a little more quiet with all this woman talk,'" Chastain says with a laugh. "I agree there are not as many women as men that have the same experience, but that's because, in the past, women have been actively discriminated against. Male directors who had their first film in Sundance, their next offer is a huge action movie. Women haven't been given those opportunities, and we need to ask why."
Madonna's twin daughters show off their 'Happy' dance moves
Happy girls! As she celebrated the 30-year anniversary of "Like a Prayer" this week, Madonna proved she was passing her love of performance along to her youngest daughters, Stella and Estere Mwale. (She also made us madly jealous of what appears to be the 6-year-old twins' exercise room and dance studio.) Sharing an adorable video of the twins rocking out to what appear to be choreographed moves with a dance teacher to Pharrell's "Happy," Madge, wrote, "😂😂 #stella #estere #dance#happy @pharrell." Madge adopted the sisters from Malawi in February 2017. As she once told People of her interest in adopting, "Sometimes I would just close my eyes and just think, 'Why isn't my kitchen filled with dancing children?' There's so many children that need a home, I thought, 'What am I waiting for? Just do it.' "
Kit Harington cried his 'eyes out' at the end of 'Game of Thrones'
"Game of Thrones" returns in just over a month and the cast still isn't dropping any hints about how the long-running HBO series will end. Whatever's set to become of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and the other characters vying for the Iron Throne, however, definitely seems to be dramatic, unexpected — and tear-jerking. Kit stopped by "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" this week and admitted the show's ending made him feel all the feelings. "I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding. And then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried," the star said, according to SyFy. He also said his own theories about how the show would end turned out to be wrong — as did those of his wife, Rose Leslie, who played a Wilding on the show. Kit had previously said in an interview that he gave her a spoiler about the ending — and she responded by not speaking to him for three days. She has since corrected his statement to say that happened with the end of Season 7 and her silent treatment didn't actually last three whole days. "She's doing her own press at the moment [and] she she keeps contradicting everything I say," Kit joked on "Colbert." "She has guessed every single possible outcome [for Season 8], bar the one that actually happens." "Game of Thrones" returns for its eighth and final season April 14.
Anna Paquin reveals the secret to her happy marriage to Stephen Moyer
Nearly a decade after they fell for each other on the set of "True Blood," it's still true love for Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. "We're each others best friends," Anna recently told Us Weekly. "We're incredibly lucky that we found each other." The couple initially kept their relationship extremely private — a choice Stephen has said they hoped would prevent interest in their romance from taking "anything away from the show" — then tied the knot in 2009. Today, they share 6-year-old twins Poppy and Charlie and maintain a a strong support system when it comes to one another's acting projects like Stephen's role on "The Gifted" and Anna's work on "Flack" and "The Affair." "We want nothing but good things for each other," Anna told Us. "His successes are my successes and vice versa and we're just really lucky."
Maggie Gyllenhaal slams writer for description of her voice
Did The Independent miss the point of its own interview with Maggie Maggie Gyllenhaal? The "Kindergarten Teacher" star recently sat down with the British outlet to discuss what it describes in the subheadline as "the #MeToo movement, gender parity in the film industry, and why she was moved by Christine Blasey Ford's testimony against Brett Kavanaugh." But when Maggie saw the story's first few lines, she was apparently stunned enough that she called out her interviewer on social media. "To writer @PatrickHJSmith Of course you're free to think anything you like about the 'silliness' of my voice and my face," she tweeted. "But when you open your piece in @independent commenting on that, it serves to undermine everything we spoke about." The piece does indeed begin with a description of the star's voice, calling it "cartoonish" and saying "one critic memorably said she possessed 'a Kewpie doll silliness." The writer goes on to suggest that "maybe it's a flaw in our culture that we expect serious thoughts to be couched in sonorous tones" before quoting Maggie as saying, "We live in a masculine world and in America – especially very recently – as much as we would like to believe otherwise, it's a misogynistic world." Patrick later replied to Maggie's criticism in the thread on Twitter. "I apologise [sic] if that's how it came across," he wrote. "The quote you're referring to was from another writer. I wanted to highlight it as an eg of the way you've been underestimated for superficial, gendered reasons. I think you and your work are brilliant, which I tried to make apparent."
Jack Osbourne and Lisa Stelly's divorce has been finalized
Jack Osbourne and Lisa Stelly are officially divorced. TMZ reports a judge signed off on the final paperwork to end the former couple's marriage on Tuesday, March 5. The two are reportedly set to share joint custody of their three young children and Jack agreed last summer to pay Lisa a large amount of child support and a "cash payout," according to documents viewed by the website. Lisa filed for divorce against "The Osbournes" star nearly a year ago. At least one public dustup followed when Jack allegedly punched Lisa's boyfriend after he attempted to get involved in an argument between the former spouses. Since then, things have reportedly remained civil.

On Tuesday, March 5, Witney Carson, Britt Stewart, Hayley Erbert, Lindsay Arnold and Emma Slater treated the 24-year-old to a bachelorette party in Las Vegas between performance dates.
