Amber Heard shows off supportive letter from fan on her third day of testimony
As Amber Heard continues to testify against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, at his libel trial in London, she's been getting plenty of support from fans. The actress, who maintains Depp physically abused her during their marriage in spite of his assertions she was the abuser, showed off an example of her fan love on Instagram on Wednesday, July 22. The post featured a smiling selfie that showed Amber holding a handwritten letter from someone named Rebecca. "Amber, I'm here today in the name of all your fans to remind you that we stand with you always!" the letter read (via the Daily Mail). "You have a lot of REAL people rooting for you, for your health and happiness. Don't you forget that." "Thank you Rebecca!!" Amber captioned the pic. Wednesday marked the actress' third day of testimony in Johnny's case against News Group Newspapers over a 2018 story in The Sun in which the actor was referred to as "a wife beater." The trial has focused on whether Johnny did or did not abuse Amber during their marriage, particularly during his bouts of substance abuse. According to the Mail, Wednesday's line of questioning for Amber was related to a 2015 incident in Australia in which she claimed he held her hostage and threw bottles at her. Johnny's lawyers argued she was in a "rage" at the time and was the one who threw the glass bottle at him. She said she was angry, but "not to the extent where I would throw anything at him offensively."

Why Katy Perry's 'grateful' she and Taylor Swift made up 'publicly'
"Gossip in life can take the elevator but the truth takes the stairs." That's how Katy Perry summed up the way her feud with Taylor Swift unfolded and, finally, came to an end, during an interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday (via People). "It just takes time," added Katy, describing her current relationship with Taylor as "super-friendly." Tension between the pop stars began to flare around 2012, when, according to Taylor, Katy tried "to sabotage" Taylor's Red tour by hiring three of her backup dancers. Those same dancers previously worked for Katy, though, which only made it easier for fans and the press to point fingers at the singer of their choosing. Taylor then lashed out at Katy with her not-so-subtle 2014 feud anthem, "Bad Blood." Katy seemed to respond with "Swish Swish," whose lyrics read like one long clap back at Taylor. As Katy pointed out on the air Tuesday, the music and tabloid media then proceeded to magnify, if not exaggerate, every ounce of actual bad blood that existed between the singers — something she's noticed the press doesn't do with male pop stars. "You never see, like, articles about Ed Sheehan and Justin Bieber in a fight or Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan in a fight," Katy told Howard. The singers' kiss-and-make-up phase began in earnest in 2018, when Katy sent Taylor a physical olive branch as a gift. The next year, Taylor invited Katy to dress up like the burger to her fries costume in her video for "You Need to Calm Down." "What I'm so grateful for is we did get to make up publicly and got to be an example of redemption for young girls," Katy explained. "I always wanted the best for her and now we can talk about the best we want for each other." Earlier this year, after throwing cold water on a rumor that Taylor appeared on her song, "Daisies," Katy said of a possible collaboration, "I'm always open."

Jennifer Garner tears up over her kids' upcoming school year amid reopening debate
From her hilarious laundry-wine-cat-dance-off post to her recent DIY backyard dunk tank video, Jennifer Garner's Instagram presence has been endlessly entertaining since the start of the pandemic. But on Tuesday, she focused on more serious matters during an Instagram Live session with yoga and meditation guru Dr. Chelsea Roberts. "I am really thinking about my kids and what their experience is going to be," Jen said in the clip (via Us Weekly). "They're so lucky. … We have broadband, we have excellent teachers who can teach over Zoom — that is one in a million possibility in this world — and yet, it's also a depressing one." The actress, who shares Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8, with ex Ben Affleck, continued: "What is this year full of transitions gonna look like for kids, for my family? How can I keep joy in learning for them or help them just continue to find their resilience? That's where I am today." As Dr. Roberts noted the star was doing the right thing but taking care of herself, too, while the whole family remains stuck at home, Jen wiped away tears from her face. Schools in California where Jen, Ben and their kids reside have been closed since the state instituted a stay-at-home order in March. The question of reopening has since become a topic of national debate, with Donald Trump demanding schools reopen in the fall regardless of positive coronavirus case numbers. Last week, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced schools in the state's worst-hit regions would not be reopening until it was safer to do so.
Ali Fedotowsky reveals she recently had a miscarriage
Ali Fedotowsky wants everyone who's experienced a miscarriage to know that their "feelings are valid, whatever they may be." The former "Bachelorette" star, 35, told her Instagram followers on Tuesday that she recently lost a pregnancy. Posting from her caroutside the doctor's office where she was scheduled for a follow-up appointment, Ali wrote: "I'm not sharing this because I feel sorry for myself or I want others to tell me they feel sorry for me. I don't feel sorry for myself. I feel sad for what could've been. Sad for the baby that was growing inside me. Sad because it's sad. I want to share this because I think it's important." Though she admitted she may never be able to share everything she experienced, Ali went on to recount the moment she had the miscarriage in her bedroom. "I was in complete shock when it happened," she said. "I sat and stared at it for hours — not able to fully comprehend what happened. And the utter exhaustion that took over my body in the few days after that was almost debilitating." Ali also shared how surprised she was that the loss "affected me so much harder than I could have imagined," before assuring followers who have been through it themselves that any feelings they may have about the experience are totally "valid." When other members of the Bachelor Nation replied with love and support in the comments, Ali thanked them. "I never quite realized part of that shame was feeling like you didn't deserve support afterwards," she wrote. "So thank you for reminding me and helping me see that it's OK to feel supported in this moment."
Kim Kardashian asks for 'compassion' as her family addresses Kanye West's mental health crisis
Kim Kardashian West addressed her husband Kanye West's apparent manic episode on her Instagram Story Wednesday, asking for "compassion" from the public as Kanye struggles with bipolar disorder. Her statement came in the wake of a barrage of concerning, since-deleted tweets in which Kanye said, among other things, that he was "trying to divorce" Kim. He also accused her of being a "white supremacist." "As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder," Kim shared (via CNN). "Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand. I've never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye's right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because off the stigma and misconceptions about mental health." Calling Kanye "brilliant but complicated," she cited challenges he faces including "the pressures of being an artist and a black man," his grief over his mother's death and "the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder." Kim then defended her husband, saying, "Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions." She explained that a family "is powerless" when it comes to helping a mentally ill loved one who does not want help, seemingly referring to Kanye's previous assertion that he doesn't take medication for his disorder. "People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try," she wrote. "We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most. I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this."
Sarah Hyland, Wells Adams postponed their wedding because 'right now there are more important things to worry about'
Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of their engagement with a date night. And given the turmoil caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the upcoming election and a national reckoning on race, they can't see planning a wedding in their near future, so that date night will have to suffice for now. "I think right now there are more important things to worry about," the "Modern Family" star tells People. "We definitely want to get married one day and have the wedding of our dreams and have everybody that we love there. But we postponed wedding planning because we want to be able to focus on what's important right now, and that's helping to spread information to wear masks and to only go out for essential needs and also take a really big look inside yourself and reflect on how you treat others." She's also being thoughtful about the ways she wants to direct her energy in such unprecedented times. "There's a lot of learning, and I'm really more focused on political things rather than wedding things," Sarah says. "There is a lot going on in the world right now and that's what we should be focused on." Wells, meanwhile, is keeping an eye on the "silver linings" of the current situation, which for him are being "forced to slow down and maybe think about things in a different way," and growing closer to his fiancee. "It's been nice to get to know her on a deeper level," he says. "Before, we were working so much that it was a little bit like ships passing in the night. It's been nice to keep falling in love with Sarah." As for that big anniversary date? "We decided to get dressed up and cook a fancy meal and go to the theater, which was really watching 'Hamilton' on the TV," says Wells. "I put on makeup," Sarah jokes. "It was a big deal!"

Megan Fox calls Machine Gun Kelly her 'twin flame'
Megan Fox is using some pretty heavy language to describe her romantic feelings about new beau Machine Gun Kelly. During a joint appearance with the musician and actor this week on Emmett and Lala Kent's "Give Them Lala … With Randall …" podcast, the actress said she knew going into "Midnight in the Switchgrass," the project where they met, she "could feel that some wild s— was going to happen to me … but I wasn't yet sure what." She added, "I just felt it like, deep in my solar plexus that something was going to come from that, so then, we met on set," she explained (via Page Six). Kelly, meanwhile, recalled waiting for Megan to get out of her car so he could catch "one glimpse of eye contact" with the star. Said Megan: "I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame. Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has like ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we're actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away." They said they ended up meeting in her trailer to talk about astrology, where she taught him about his birth chart … none of which, we're sure, is a euphemism for the serious romance that followed on the heels of Megan's split from brian Austin Green …
