Carrie Underwood 'can't do' the teeny-weeny bikini thing: 'It's not going to happen'
Carrie Underwood's been designing swimsuits for her CALIA "athleisure" line since 2015, but there's one direction she'll never go when it comes to bikinis and that's the classic triangle shape. Speaking to People at a launch for the latest edition of her swim suits in the Hamptons this week, she explained that she's never felt comfortable in that shape, not even as a teen or in her early 20s. At 36, she's still not into the old itsy-bitsy bikinis. "I can't do it, it's not going to happen. It would never have happened," she declared. Instead, she's experimented with a variety of sportswear-influenced swim pieces that she describes as "pretty and functional." "I've had women come up to me and be like, 'Thank you! I can take my teenage daughter and we can get things that are cute but also appropriate for her and for me,'" said the singer. "And I think of myself running after my crazy kids and being at hotel pools, wanting to be cute but also not wanting to worry about things." With her suits, Carrie says, "Everything stays where it's supposed to!"

Jessica Alba opens up about her regrettable tattoos
Back in March, Jessica Alba proudly showed off the new zodiac constellation tattoos she'd gotten to honor each of her kids, Honor, Haven and Hayes. Unfortunately, she has less fond feelings about a couple pieces of body art she had done when she was much younger. "I do have a few tattoos," she told Refinery29 in a recent interview, "… and I regret one of them… maybe two." Taking first place on the "regret" list is the bow she has smack dab in the middle of her lower back — "kind of a tramp stamp," she says. (Sorry, girl, there's no "kind of" about the tramp stamp delineation when you made the area just above your butt look like a gift.) Jessica's other questionable tat? The little pile of flowers in the middle of the back of her neck. "I got it when I was, like, 17 and I'm so irritated that I got it," she says. "I got it lasered many times and it's not coming out." On the bright side, it sounds like the tattoo follies of the star's youth helped inform her latest visit to Los Angeles tattoo artist Dr. Woo. "I really wanted to think about what would be meaningful over time, because when you get something when you're 17 and now you're 38, you're like, 'Hmm, don't know if that's too meaningful,'" she admits. "But for that one, the kids are forever."

Kelly Ripa shares fan letter urging her to leave Mark Consuelos for Jake Gyllenhaal
It's all about the kids! At least, that could be Kelly Ripa's excuse if she opts to ditch her husband, Mark Consuelos, for Oscar winning actor Jake Gyllenhaal, as a fan recently suggested in a letter to the "Live With Kelly and Ryan!" host. "Now, I am not discounting this letter at all. I just want to put that out there," Kelly joked on the Friday, July 19, edition of the show, on which Jake was a guest. Kelly added that a highlight of the fan's letter was where the person said a romance with Jake "may be better" for Kelly's kids. "So, what do you say Jake?" she joked. "It feels like a lot of pressure for a moment like this, but I'm open to it," he quipped. According to E!, something that was said during Jake's February appearance on "The Tonight Show" made the fan think Jake and Kelly would be a perfect match. Kelly hadn't quite discerned what that something was, but assured her guest that they would "have time to figure it out." Besides, she said, "I ran it by Mark. He thinks you are a hell of a guy, and he thinks that you would make a great stepfather to our kids." Before the end of the show, she glanced at Jake and told him, "dreams do come true."
Diane Kruger talks baby milestones on 'Live with Kelly and Ryan'
Diane Kruger turned 43 this week, a milestone she celebrated with her partner, Norman Reedus, and their daughter, in Paris. Being 8 months old, of course, the couple's little one is passing major milestones herself these days, too. "She's so big," Diane said on "Live With Kelly and Ryan" on Thursday, July 18 (via Us Weekly). "It's crazy. She's teething so the nights can be hard for her because she's drooling all over." But hey, nothing like drooling in the City of Lights! "She loves Paris," Diane gushed. "It's the second time in her life she's in Paris." Asked back in April how fatherhood 2.0 is going for Norman 19 years after he welcomed his first child, Mingus, Diane told Us she can barely wrap her head around how her man feels about their baby. "He just looks at her with unconditional love. I wish he looked at me like that! … He's just very great with her," she said at the time, echoing sentiments she expressed about the "Walking Dead" star's dad skills in an interview with PorterEdit in January. "He's so calm, and he teaches me a lot because he's done it before," she told the mag. "There's definitely something to be said for being with someone who is doing it for the second time."
Tom Cruise calls the 'Top Gun' sequel 'a love letter to aviation'
When Tom Cruise played Maverick in 1986's "Top Gun," he really did fly an F-14 fighter plane. So when he filmed the forthcoming sequel, "Top Gun: Maverick," he couldn't just dial in the flight sequence — and he made sure his costars didn't, either. Explaining that the cast had help from Navy pilots, he told Conan O'Brien this week that, "when you're seeing the G-force, it's not a computer-generated image. It's actually the actors in there being the characters. The aerial footage is really beautiful. I'm a pilot myself, and I love flying and I love aviation, so this is also a love letter to aviation." He clearly loved aviation back in the '80s, too. "I went through all the pilot training," ahead of the filming of "Top Gun," he said, according to the Daily Mail. "And then I filmed three flights in the F-14 in one day. It was a dream of mine,'
Billy Eichner says 'Beyonce was nervous' about meeting Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan
Earlier this week, footage of Beyonce embracing Duchess Meghan while greeting her with a "hi, my princess" at the London premiere of "The Lion King" left fans almost uncontrollably giddy with joy in spite of the strong possibility that Bey was breaking royal protocol. Well, thanks to Billy Eichner, we now know Beyonce may have simply had a case of the pre-royal meeting jitters and momentarily spaced on the proper salutation for royals. During his appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday, July 18, Billy described the "intense" list of instructions he and his castmates had been given ahead of Meghan and Prince Harry's arrival. He admitted it left everyone — including the cast's music royalty — a bit anxious. "We were all kind of nervous," he said, according to People. "Even Beyoncé." He went on to say that a few days before the premiere, the cast was emailed "a protocol" for greeting the royal couple. "You're supposed to say, 'Your Royal Highness,' you can't speak until your hands are in a handshake with his," Billy said, adding that his friend was going to be on the red carpet with him but was told he had to stand behind Billy and not speak unless spoken to. "I'm not kidding!" Billy exclaimed. "I was like, 'Does that same rule apply to JAY-Z?' I don't know. I have a feeling it doesn't!" In the end, though, everyone seemed happy and comfortable with their brush with royalty. As Billy tweeted later, Harry and Meghan turned out to be "super own-to-earth and lovely."

Donald Trump has not tried to help ASAP Rocky
Amid news A$AP Rocky's time in an allegedly "inhumane" Swedish prison will be extended until at least next week, Page Six reports that despite Kim Kardashian West's request that Donald Trump step in to help get the rapper released, Swedish officials have heard nada from the White House. "We have had no communication with the White House," said the Swedish Prosecution Authority in a statement, adding that it is "not possible for the US President to have any influence on the Swedish legal procedure." In the meantime, a number of U.S. representatives have spoken out on behalf of Rocky, releasing a joint statement that says they "remain deeply concerned about the detainment of Rakim Mayers, also known as A$AP Rocky, and his two companions David Rispers Jr., and Bladimir Corniel" after a street fight.
