This is when social media is at its best. On Oct. 16, a man from the United Kingdom named Edmund O'Leary was having a really bad day and simply asked for people to say hi to lift his spirits. "I am not ok. Feeling rock bottom," he tweeted. "Please take a few seconds to say hello if you see this tweet. Thank you." Before long, he was trending and flooded with well wishes. His request traveled across the pond and caught the attention of many famous faces, too. Sophia Bush replied, "Hello Edmund! We don't know each other, but I know that so so so many people are feeling heavy right now. The toll of this year is immense. Just remember that it's a relay; we can all share the baton. You're not alone. Better days are coming. You deserve to see them. Sending [love]." See which other celebrities reached out to offer kind words to the man they've never met.
"My dogs say hi," Kristen Johnston wrote alongside a picture of her adorable dogs.
