Reports that model Irina Shayk and actor Bradley Cooper were dating first emerged in April 2015 when they were spotted at a performance of "Finding Neverland" on Broadway. The two were both fresh off breakups — Bradley had been dating model-actress Suki Waterhouse for two years, and Irina had been with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo for five.

"American Sniper" star Bradley Cooper, then 40, couldn't hide his affection for then-29-year-old model Irina Shayk in May 2015 when the two were photographed kissing in London and making out in New York City after they saw another Broadway play, this time the wildly popular "Hamilton."
By August 2015, four-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper was traveling the world, showing everyone how he felt about his Russian girlfriend. He and Irina Shayk were spotted on a romantic getaway on the Amalfi Coast in Italy where they were seen laying on a black pebble beach making out, swimming and, at one point, Irina was seen play-choking her man. The two shared a love of beach vacations and headed to the Bahamas in November 2015 (seen here).
Over Labor Day weekend in 2015, Bradley Cooper made a big move: He introduced his girlfriend, Irina Shayk, to his first love, mom Gloria Campano. The trio spent time in Atlantic City, New Jersey, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and sunbathing. The group was also seen doing classic beach activities like grabbing ice cream and strolling together on the boardwalk, which is about an hour and a half from the actor's childhood home in Pennsylvania. Irina and Gloria's blossoming relationship continued later into September when they were seen walking a dog together in New York City without Bradley.
By January 2016, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk were plagued with their first serious set of breakup rumors. The reason for the alleged split involved the actor's mother, with reports claiming she and Irina were not getting along. However, the rumors turned out to be false and the couple remained together.
Just more than a month after their rumored split, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk delivered a major statement as a couple when they made their red carpet debut together. At the L'Oreal Red Obsession Party during Paris Fashion Week, the sharply dressed duo posed for photos and were caught smooching. Bradley also supported his love while she was working, sitting front row as she walked in the Givenchy show that same week.
After a year of dating, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk finally made things Instagram official, but given their penchant for privacy, they had to do it in their own way: Instead of showing their faces, Irina posted a swimsuit pic that focused on her stomach and chest as she lounged in a pool against her boyfriend, whose scruffy neck and muscular upper body were easily recognizable.
In July 2016, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk took in a tennis match at Wimbledon. However, it seemed to be less than enjoyable. It appeared that the model was ignoring her 11-years-older boyfriend. When he tried talking to her, whispering in her ear, she appeared to wipe away tears and looked away from him. However, reports contradicted rumors of a fight, with the model's tears chalked up to a pollen allergy.
At the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November 2016, Irina Shayk debuted a small but growing baby bump. Though she tried to keep her stomach covered during the annual lingerie show, the world soon learned that she and Bradley Cooper were expecting their first child together.
Just weeks after the news of her pregnancy broke, Irina Shayk sparked rumors of an engagement. The model was seen leaving a Los Angeles spa in mid-December 2016 wearing a ring on that finger — a bauble featuring a large emerald stone surrounded by a halo of diamonds on a gold band. She and Bradley Cooper, however, stayed tight-lipped on the speculation.
On March 21, 2017, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk welcomed their first child, daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper. The couple never confirmed the birth of their little one, who arrived in Los Angeles; the news was only confirmed once her birth certificate surfaced.
The extremely glamorous couple did what glamorous couples do in May 2018: They walked the Met gala red carpet together for the first time. Irina Shayk wore a gold embellished gown by Atelier Versace. Bradley Cooper donned a Tom Ford tuxedo. They had both attended in 2016 but did not walk the red carpet together, instead meeting up at the end of it.
In September 2018, Bradley Cooper spoke to NPR about his directorial debut, "A Star is Born." During the interview, he opened up about his family with Irina Shayk, something he typically avoids doing. "I guess having a child, and having a family of my own — which is a miracle and something I've always dreamt of — has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present," he admitted when asked how becoming a parent had affected his career.
In October 2018, fresh claims of trouble hit Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk. Page Six reported that the pair were giving each other major attitude during a dinner date at New York City restaurant Masa. "They were not looking happy," said the source. "They barely spoke to each other at the start of the meal. Halfway through, she started looking off to the side and he was moody." Another source told Page Six that the couple "are miserable together. They have been for months. He doesn't drink and is into spirituality. She wants to go out." Other reports surfaced the same month claiming that Bradley had been cranky because of all the promotion he'd had to do for "A Star is Born," and that Irina was, according to Woman's Day Australia, "rattled" by the close bond he'd formed with his co-star, Lady Gaga. But it all came to naught as Irina and Bradley were soon spotted out with their daughter, Lea, looking like a happy family. Irina was also by his side as award season buzz for his "A Star is Born" work continued to grow.
Irina Shayk made a rare exception and in late 2018 briefly spoke about partner Bradley Cooper's success starring in and directing "A Star is Born." When "Extra" asked if she was proud of her love, she said, "Of course I am!" She also discussed balancing work and family. "I think if you love your work and, you know, you can find time for everything and, you know, I found myself to find time for everything," she explained. "If you love to do something, you can manage everything nowadays. We can see many women who are working moms and doing tons of stuff."
A few days after Irina Shayk attended the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala to support Bradley Cooper and his work on "A Star is Born" — though they arrived separately and didn't pose for photos together — she was by his side on the red carpet at the higher profile Golden Globes on Jan. 6, where he was nominated for best director and best actor (but didn't win).
Two days after the 2019 Golden Globes, Irina Shayk again supported Bradley Cooper, this time at the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on Jan. 8, 2019, where he was honored with the best director award. A month later, she explained to Glamour UK why she doesn't like to talk about her boyfriend publicly. "I have a lot of friends who share a lot of their personal life on Instagram or social media, very publicly. I admire it and I think it's great — but I think it's all about personal choice," she explained. "Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet. That's why it's called personal, because it's something for you and your family, and I feel happy with it."
As award season 2019 continued on, Irina Shayk chose not to join Bradley Cooper for a few other major award shows, leaving him to attend the Critics' Choice Awards solo on Jan. 13 and the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 27 with his mother, Gloria Campano. When "A Star is Born" won the prize for best original music at the BAFTAs in London on Feb. 10, Bradley accepted the prize — and gave a shout-out to his beloved at the end of his speech. "Most of all I have to thank Irina, for putting up with me for all the music I was trying to make in our basement for a year," he said. It might not have seemed like much, but for this fiercely private pair, calling her out like that was a big deal!
Irina Shayk hit the red carpet with Bradley Cooper once again at the 91st Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood on Feb. 24, 2019, where he was up for — but didn't win — best actor, best picture and best adapted screenplay Oscars for his work on "A Star is Born." All eyes were on Irina when Bradley took the stage with co-star Lady Gaga to deliver a wildly intimate performance of "Shallow," their hit song from the film, sparking widespread speculation — even from other celebrities — that there was more than meets the eye to Gaga and Bradley's relationship. "I felt so uncomfortable for Bradley's girlfriend, oh my gosh," Spice Girl Mel B said on "Good Morning, Britain" afterward. "Hopefully it's only professional." People magazine pointed out that Irina cheered for Gaga — who'd just split with fiancé Christian Carino — in the categories for which she was nominated during the telecast.
During an April 25, 2019, appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Bradley Cooper opened up about how much fatherhood has changed him. "I think, like, every way," he told Ellen. "It allowed me to embrace my childlike self without any sort of fear of judgment." Bradley says his 2-year-old daughter Lea gives him the best excuse to act like a kid again. "I can just play with toys all day long," he added, "or watch cartoons endlessly and not think I'm wasting my life. I love cartoons." He also said he often thinks about his and Irina's daughter's future. "You think [about] what she's got to look forward to and also the burden of life. It's a lot. The innocence is beautiful to see," he said.
On June 6, 2019, following days of speculation that began with a Page Six report claiming that Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk's relationship was "hanging by a thread," multiple outlets including People magazine and Us Weekly confirmed via sources that the couple had split after four years together. An insider told People that the actor-director and the model were working out how to best share custody of daughter Lea, 2. The same day split news broke, the Russian beauty was photographed carrying a suitcase in Los Angeles amid speculation that she had moved out of the home she and Bradley shared during their romance.
Six weeks after news of their breakup made headlines, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk reached a custody agreement concerning 2-year-old daughter Lea, TMZ reported on July 18. According to sources connected to the former couple, the actor-director and the model settled on joint legal and physical custody of their little girl and both agreed to live in New York City to make co-parenting easier. The arrangement — which the amicable exes chose not to formalize in writing, TMZ reported — further includes a 50/50 split of time with Lea that's flexible depending on their work schedules.
