Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in early June 2020, starting with this off-and-on couple… In the wake of his May breakup from Sofia Richie, Scott Disick is raising questions about the nature of his relationship with former love Kourtney Kardashian. On May 29, Us Weekly reported that Scott's lingering feelings for the mother of his three children weighed heavily on his much younger girlfriend: "Scott is always going to be in love with Kourtney, and that's something Sofia has had to face since even before she got serious with him," said a source. "It's been an ongoing thing. It just became more apparent that his family was more of a priority than she was, and his family would be his main priority over anything and anyone." The source went on to explain how the coronavirus pandemic — and Scott's ongoing mental health issues — added to the tension in his relationship with his girlfriend of three years: "The quarantine has put a spin on things for Scott. He's always had issues, especially with addiction, and that's always been a concern," said the insider. "Sofia noticed that he wasn't doing well and gave him an ultimatum, and in the end, it seemed like Scott was more focused on Kourtney and his kids than her." As for the reality star's take on her former off-and-on love of nearly a decade, "Kourtney has always been hesitant about getting back together with Scott or letting him in in a romantic sense," said the source. "She has given him so many chances over the years after he has said that he is going to prove himself to her, and he seemingly still hasn't in certain aspects. … [But] a first love is not something you just wash away. The fact that he is the father of their three kids keeps them connected forever. Kourtney wants the best for Scott and knows they've been through the wringer together. She lets him in — but at an arm's length." On June 1, Us Weekly reported that, according to a different source, "Kourtney is not open to him in a romantic sense, but Scott is always flirting with her and thinks she looks better than ever. The family also loves him and he's like another son to Kris [Jenner]." Added the insider, "Scott is so happy that he and Kourtney get along so well and how easy it is with her. On May 30, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Sofia Richie's family — specifically dad Lionel Richie and sister Nicole Richie — were "weary" of her relationship with Scott Disick, and their opinions "played a big role in their issues." The source went on to say that Nicole "has always been a rock for Sofia" but "never fully supported" her relationship with the older father of three — the fashion designer simply "wants the best and healthiest outcome" for her little sis. Apparently, Nicole may still have cause for concern: A second Us Weekly source claims Scott and Sofia "have been staying in touch and texting since they split," and "their friends think that there is a big chance they could get back together at some point." According to yet another Us Weekly insider, "Sofia isn't interested in or open to dating anyone new right now. She still wants to be there for Scott through his difficulties in a way that works for her and doesn't want to leave him high and dry, but she also knows she can't be part of a bad situation and any family drama."

On May 29 — following months of questions about the status of their relationship — Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich announced they're calling it quits after nearly three years of marriage. "We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate. We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward," they told People magazine in a joint statement. "It's been over for a while, and it's time to just call it what it is — and it is over. There is honestly no ill will. He loves her. She loves him. I can truly say they always will. But they both understand they are not meant to go through their lives as husband and wife to each other," said a People magazine source, noting that the former "Dancing With the Stars" pro is a "deeply different person than she was when they got married" and is "proud of those differences and changes she's made and … doesn't want to go back." Continued the source, "[Brooks] is the man he is and he shouldn't change a thing. But they shouldn't spend the rest of their lives together — not as spouses, anyway. … They are both on the same page about that now. It took them a while to get here, but now they both understand that and they are hoping to move forward as deeply loving friends forever who will always be supportive and encouraging of one another." The source added that the pair realized they were "perfectly happy and fine being apart" during the coronavirus pandemic, which ultimately helped them realize it was time to throw in the towel. A second source told People that the duo "haven't seen each other for almost two months" and that Brooks is "very happy to be living away" from Los Angeles, which Julianne calls home. Said the second source, "It's been a sad situation, but they have both realized that their priorities are too different for their marriage to work out. … They are two people that still love each other but have decided that it's time to move on separately. The split is friendly. They hope they can stay friends." Echoed a third source, "This wasn't a rash decision. They tried living apart and spending time apart, and also spending more time together to see what would be best. But their romantic relationship is over now. It's really sad because there is a lot of love and respect between Brooks and Julianne, but they are both determined to remain friends." Yet another People source said the former professional hockey player was "determined to make it work" but was "constantly questioning what changes he needed to make for Julianne to be happy." Said the insider, "He was fighting with this for months and it was very hard for him to let go of his marriage. … It really took the lockdown and them being separated for two months for him to realize that it is time to let go." An "Entertainment Tonight" source, meanwhile, said that although Brooks and Julianne "truly had a loving, romantic relationship" and "believed they would spend the rest of their lives together," they realized "within two years" that "their views of marriage differed tremendously." Explained the source, "Brooks loves his outdoor life in Idaho, wanted a more traditional marriage and to start a family. Julianne wanted a less traditional marriage, to focus on her career and loves her city life and Hollywood existence. … Despite truly loving each other, they just didn't see eye to eye." Echoed an Us Weekly source, "[The] split was a long time coming. They argued a lot and just had different viewpoints on important issues. … [They're] trying to find themselves separate from one another and deal with any issues they've faced that were exasperated while married. … There's still a love there, but not in a romantic sense."

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph took to social media on May 29 to announce that the rumors are true: They recently called it quits after more than a year of coupledom. "First off, I want to say this is one of the hardest things I have had to share as neither one of us is quite ready to talk about it yet. However, because our relationship is such a public one, our silence on the matter has been speaking for us. Colton and I have broken up, but have decided to remain a part of each other's lives. With all that we have gone through, we have a special bond that will always be there. I love Colton very much and have an enormous amount of respect for him. We have both learned and grown so much these past couple years, and will always have each other's back. They both knew it wasn't going to work," said the source. A second insider noted that the breakup is "mutual" and "definitely amicable." Said the second source, "Colton and Cassie are still good friends, and they want to stay friends. It's definitely a priority for them. Colton is sad, but he's looking forward to what the future may bring." Meanwhile, according to an Us Weekly source, "Cassie and Colton have a great friendship, but that's what it was for most of their relationship. … They just made good partners and really great friends. Friends around Colton and Cassie knew this was coming for a while, they were pretty much just roommates toward the end." On May 28, Justin Hartley was snapped smooching actress Sofia Pernas outside a doctor's office in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, which published the pics, the brunette beauty dropped off the "This Is Us" actor and returned hours later to pick him up from his appointment. Interestingly, the duo co-starred on "The Young and the Restless" at the same time that Justin's estranged wife, Chrishell Stause, also appeared on the show. On June 1, The Sun reported that the two women were actually friendly for years after co-starring on the daytime soap and often interacted positively with one another on social media, though Chrishell has since unfollowed Sofia. A source told the British tabloid that the "Selling Sunset" star is as "happy as she can be" about her ex's new romance. As for Justin and Sofia, People magazine reported on June 3 that, according to a source, they've "been dating for several weeks," are "spending a lot of time at his house" and "look very happy."

On May 28, Thomas Middleditch's wife of four years, costume designer Mollie Gates, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and listing the day of separation as May 22. "They still care deeply for each other and will move forward as friends," a source told People magazine of the split. The "Silicon Valley" star made headlines in September 2019 when he claimed in an interview that swinging "saved" their marriage.
Us Weekly reported on May 30 that, according to a source, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox were had been "having issues for a while" and were "separated" but "hadn't fully cut ties" yet when she "hooked up" and "became intimate" with Machine Gun Kelly. "Megan can be diva-like, hard to please and high maintenance. Brian is choosing to take Megan's word and believes that her and MGK are friends and as far as he knows, when they began getting close, she was just leaning on him as a friend," said the source, adding that Brian "saw it coming." A day earlier, another Us Weekly source said that the "Transformers" star "felt as though Brian had been holding her back from being in the limelight" and is "interested in getting back out there and reinventing herself." According to yet another Us Weekly source, the duo "had been arguing about parenting styles." (Last year, Brian publicly complained about always serving as the "bad cop" when it comes to parenting their three children.)
Josh Lucas's ex-wife and off-and-on partner of nearly a decade, writer Jessica Ciencin Henriquez, took to Twitter on May 29 to accuse him of cheating on her. "Having a child with someone makes you want to forgive them more than you normally would, it makes you believe they are better than they are. But it takes a really s— human to cheat on their partner (correction: now ex partner) in the middle of a pandemic. Thank you for reminding me why I left you in the first place. I deserve better than this. Our son deserves better than this," she wrote. Although she didn't mention the "Sweet Home Alabama" star by name, it was clear she was talking about him: Jessica only has one child, 7-year-old son Noah, whom she shares with the actor. Things have taken a turn for the better for Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West, who reportedly hit a rough patch in their relationship early in the coronavirus pandemic. Us Weekly reported on June 2 that, according to a source, the power couple is "doing well" — even though they are sometimes "on different pages" due to their opposite schedules. "She gets up early and works out and he is up late," explained the source. "Kim is working out nonstop and doing her thing. Kanye is having a harder time because he does not have a regimented routine like Kim." Still, said the source, the rapper is "making sure Kim has some time to herself and to unwind."
Us Weekly reported on May 28 that, according to a source, Victoria Fuller and Chris Soules are now "exclusively dating" after two months of raising questions about the nature of their relationship. The brunette beauty — who competed for Peter Weber's heart on season 24 of "The Bachelor" — is reportedly still in quarantine with the farmer — who starred on season 19 of "The Bachelor" — at his home in Iowa. Though she traveled to Des Moines to visit a friend over Memorial Day weekend, she soon returned to his side.
Demi Lovato made her relationship with Max Ehrich Instagram official on May 28. The singer-actress shared a slideshow of four photos of herself and the former soap star canoodling in a swimming pool, which she captioned with an acronym for "I love you so f—— much, it's actually insane."
Another big social media debut! Nina Dobrev made her rumored romance with Shaun White Instagram official on May 28. "Adding to resume: hairdresser," she captioned a slideshow showing off the haircut she gave the Olympic snowboarder. On the first part of the "Vanderpump Rules" season 8 reunion, which aired on June 2, Max Boyens revealed that he and Kristen Doute hooked up in the fall of 2019 — after he and Dayna Kathan nearly reconciled. "I'm literally shocked right now," Dayna said after Kristen referred to Max as a former "friend with benefits." Earlier on the reunion, Dayna admitted that she was "really f—— obsessed with Max" and "so into him." On the May 27 episode of Demi Burnett's "Big Demi Energy" podcast, Nikki Bella explained why she and her fiancé, Artem Chigvintsev, put their wedding plans on hold amid the coronavirus pandemic: "The day I get married, I just want a massive party. I want a bash. I want everything I've dreamed of," said the bride-to-be, noting that she wants the world to be in "a clear space" — and free of social-distancing requirements and restrictions on venues and party sizes — when she ties the knot. "I honestly think our wedding will probably be far, far out," she added. "Maybe not. Maybe within a year. But, like, I don't even know. I have a feeling it might be longer." On June 1, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, the duo are doing just fine amid the delay in their plans to wed. "Artem treats Nikki like a queen. On June 3, Page Six broke the news that Sean Hannity and his wife of more than 20 years, Jill Rhodes, quietly divorced sometime more than a year ago after separating "many years prior to that." The Fox News host and his former missus vaguely addressed the split rumors in a statement to the New York Post's gossip column: "Sean and Jill are committed to working together for the best interests of their children. Amicable agreements were entered into over four years ago between Sean and Jill. They maintain a close relationship as parents to their children. Neither will have any further comments and ask for the sake of their children that their privacy be respected," they said. A friend of the former couple told Page Six that the breakup "is very amicable" and that the duo "remain on very good terms and still have family dinners and attend tennis tournaments for their [two adult] children." The insider also said that "Sean is still close with members of Jill's family" and infidelity did not play a role in the breakup. The source noted that the conservative talking head "is basically a workaholic," hinting that his commitment to his job may have contributed to the demise of his marriage.

It was the best decision I've ever made," he told People.
Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock took to Instagram on May 29 to announce that she and English professional soccer player Andre Gray are engaged. During an interview with The New York Times that hit the Internet on May 28, Pamela Anderson said that she "wasn't married" to Jon Peters — the former love she purportedly wed in January. "I'm a romantic. I think I'm an easy target. And I think people just live in fear," she said of how their brief non-legally-binding union came to be. "I don't know what all that was about, but I think fear really played a lot into it. … It was just kind of a little moment. Page Six reported on May 29 that Meghan King and her estranged husband, Jim Edmonds, are fighting over the validity of their prenuptial agreement, which the former star of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" is contesting. "Jim's prenuptial agreement is valid, enforceable and generous for a five-year marriage, and we fully expect it to be upheld," his rep told the New York Post's gossip column, adding that the former professional baseball player "has been beyond generous to Meghan and provides full financial support for his children." Fired back the mother of three, "Jim's rep was previously quoted in January as saying Jim has 'no interest in playing this out in the media.' I think that's very important to circle back to, because that's where I stand, too. We've navigated this in and out of the media over the past few months but at this point, I'm in a really good spot and I just want to move on. The public should turn their attention to more important world events, not our private ones." Responded Jim's rep, "Meghan has spent the better part of the past six months airing everyone's dirty laundry in public. She has publicly discussed hers and Jim's sex life, complained about not getting enough child support, accused Jim of indiscretions, publicly humiliated Jim's girlfriend, discussed Jim's vasectomy, talked about what she is going to do with their frozen embryos and pretty much discussed every single aspect of her marriage and divorce on her podcast, social media and in the press. She continually speaks to reporters as an anonymous 'insider' and has done whatever she can to get attention for herself and cause harm to Jim with no regard or respect for anything or anyone. I am absolutely thrilled Meghan finally realizes that I was right all along and there is no benefit to playing this out in public. On the May 29 episode of Fubo Sports Network's "The Cooligans" podcast, Kyle Martino said that he and now-ex-wife Eva Amurri met during a "really tough" period in his life when he was going through a "serious depression," and while they "fell in love quickly," they ultimately "sucked at being married." Said the former professional soccer player, "She was there to save my life, really. … We needed each other. Her parents [mom Susan Sarandon and then-partner Tim Robbins] were splitting the month we met, so we kind of took turns saving each other. Obviously, there was chemistry and passion and attraction and all those things that come at the beginning of a relationship. And then when we got into it and had kids and looked at a decade-long life together — the last three or four years, we really sucked at being married. We were trying really hard to make it work. Anyone that says, 'Man this marriage thing is a knack, like this is great,' is getting divorced soon." He went on to say that because they're "in the public eye," people were "really judgmental" about the way they ended their marriage. "[They] couldn't imagine that we would make this decision from a place of love for each other [and] as a positive transition for our kids," he said. Their goal, he explained, was to set a positive example for their three children: "Let's not model a marriage of proximity and pragmatism because we have kids. Let's show them what they should aspire to build in a successful marriage, and let's also show them happy Mom and happy Dad — because we're not happy together married," he said. "We gave each other a huge hug the day we decided to [split]. We gave each other a hug in divorce court when it was official. We love each other. We just suck at being married, and we shouldn't be married. Former "The Real Housewives of New York" star Alex McCord took to Instagram on May 28 to mark her 20th wedding anniversary with husband Simon van Kempen. During a May 29 interview with Us Weekly, Morena Baccarin said that she and her husband, actor Ben McKenzie, were excited to celebrate their third wedding anniversary on June 2 with "a simple anniversary dinner" and spending time together as a family "in a quiet way." Said the actress, "We always struggle to find family time in our busy lives and now we just have to sit back and enjoy it. … It's really not hard to spend time together [right now]. We actually are getting more than enough right now. It's more about taking quality time together. Making sure you've filled up on enough alone time to have some space to really be there for each other and connect."
During an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that popped up online on May 28, Dylan Sprouse said that he and his girlfriend, model Barbara Palvin, went into quarantine "with some ground rules" and "some hesitancy, as anybody would," but that living together has been "completely fine." Said the former child star, "What we've come out noticing is that we're super-compatible. It's like we know when to give each other space. We know when the other needs space. We've already divided labor around the house in certain ways. There's things we do in the morning, there's things we do at night. So I think our relationship … is stronger than ever. … And quarantine has really brought us together in a good way. I'll hear the opposite recently, and we just kind of look at each other and are like, 'I'm just really thankful that that's not the case with us right now.'"
On the May 27 episode of her "Big Demi Energy" podcast, Demi Burnett said that she and her boyfriend, Slater Davis, have been fighting "a lot" while in quarantine with his family. "We'd only been together, like, a month before the quarantine happened — like a month and a half," she said, noting that they decided to quarantine together because they'd "spent every day together" before the pandemic hit the U.S. "[When] you spend that much time with someone and their family — it's like you start nit-picking and you start getting mad over the stupidest stuff and fighting about it," she said.
