As a Special Envoy for the United Nations, Angelina Jolie has taken centerstage in global efforts to protect and advocate for refugees from war-torn countries. According to a new report from the U.K.'s Sunday Times, however, she once offered to go further than giving speeches and meeting with world leaders. The Times reported over the weekend that the actress and director offered to help the International Criminal Court capture Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony with some help from her then-husband, Brad Pitt. The story cited emails from Luis Moreno Ocampo, the former chief prosecutor of the ICC, and from Angelina detailing plans for Angelina to invite the African leader, who had already been indicted for war crimes and crimes against humanity, to a dinner that would serve as a ruse to get him out of hiding so the ICC could arrest him. "Forget other celebrities, she is the one," Luis wrote in an email excerpted by the Times (via Us Weekly). "She loves to arrest Kony. She is ready. Probably Brad will go also." The idea was allegedly for Angelina and Brad to be embedded with U.S. Special Forces soldiers close to where Joseph Kony was believed to be hiding. "Brad is being supportive," Angelina reportedly wrote in an email the ICC prosecutor. "Let's discuss logistics. Much love Xxx." According to the Times, the plan was never executed. As of Monday, Oct. 9, Angelina's rep had not commented.

Jenna Dewan reunites with Janet Jackson and her former tour mates in Los Angeles

Long before her "World of Dance" days, Jenna Dewan-Tatum worked as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson in 2001 and 2002. Over the weekend, she got a chance to reunite with the singer and her one-time dance crew when Janet performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday, Oct. 8. After Jenna and her former tourmates did some bonding backstage before the show, Janet brought Jenna and others out for a round of applause from the audience. "My solo career took off when I was 19 years old," Janet said from the stage, according to E! News. "I decided to create a family of my own. I became very close to those who danced with me, but even closer to those who danced on tour with me," she continued. "I spent time with their families. I would stay with them; they would stay with me. I called them the 'kids.'" When Jenna joined Janet onstage, she did a little twirl before taking a bow, according to E! Jenna also posed for photos with the reunited group, posting on social media, "Generations of Janet kids brought together…!♥️ Dancing for her was always way more than a job…" After the show, Janet, Jenna, along with her husband Channing Tatum and the other dancers celebrated their reunion with a party at Lure.

Pete Davidson talks mental health, depression on 'SNL'

Earlier this year, Pete Davidson was treated to a round of applause when he returned to "Saturday Night Live" after a trip to rehab and and announcement that he was battling mental health issues. Now, he's using the show as a platform to help others who may be facing similar problems. "As some of you may know, I was recently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, a form of depression. And depression affects more than 16 million people in this country and there's like, no cure, per se, but for anyone dealing with it there are treatments that can help," he said during "Weekend Update" on the Oct. 7 edition of "SNL" (via Us Weekly). "First of all, if you think you're depressed, see a doctor and talk with him about medication and also, be healthy. Eating right and exercise can make a huge difference," the 23-year-old comic explained. Then he lightened the mood. "And finally," he continued, "if you are in the cast of a late-night comedy show, it might help if, you know, they use more of your sketches." When Colin Jost asked if Pete was saying his depression was due to his "not getting enough air time," Pete balked. "No, no, no. I was born depressed but it might make me feel better if I was on TV more," he joked. "It's worth a shot. I mean, the show is, like, eight hours long. There's, like, 50 sketches a week. It seems weird that you wouldn't use one of them to fight mental illness, but I guess that's not your style." Colin mused that maybe Pete should consider writing more sketches for himself. "That won't work," Pete responded. "My sketches suck because they're all written by a depressed person." A depressed person with a perfectly intact sense of humor, apparently …

Prince Harry announces partnership for broader support of mental health issues within the armed forces

With the 2017 Invictus Games behind him, Prince Harry is once again focused on his campaign to create more awareness around mental health issues. On Monday, Oct. 9, Harry spoke at the Ministry of Defence in London about plans to provide greater support for those in the armed forces who may be dealing with mental health concerns. "My 10 years in the army taught me a great deal. I learned about the true meaning of service, duty, resilience and dedication," Harry said, according to ET. "But in many ways I have learned more about the sacrifices our servicemen and women make for us all since I left the army and continued my work with the Invictus Games. Having a step back from day-to-day army life has allowed me to think carefully about how we prepare, support, and care for those who wear the uniform." He continued: "Crucially, fighting fitness is not just about physical fitness. It is just as much about mental fitness too … We have all seen professional athletes lose races or matches due to unforced errors. It is no different for anyone in high pressure roles." Finally, Harry urged forward motion in the military with regard to mental health. "For too long, acknowledging emotion or challenging thoughts was seen as counter-productive to the fundamental characteristics of the armed forces," he said. "Today, we are saying that taking mental health seriously is what professional and dedicated service men and women must do to be above the rest and leading from the front." Harry, along with Prince William and Duchess Kate, launched their Heads Together campaign to "end stigma and change the conversation on mental health once and for all," according to the organization's website.

Ava Phillippe set to come out as a debutante in Paris this fall

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe's daughter, Ava Phillippe, is prepping to "come out" at one of the most prestigious debutante balls in the world. The New York Post reports the 18-year-old is set to join six other American debutantes at le Bal des Débutantes on Nov. 25 at the Peninsula Paris hotel in Paris. The event, a fundraiser for the Seleni Institute, which supports mental health care for teenage moms, is considered to be one of the "hottest parties in the world" and generally involves each deb arriving in haute couture gowns while wearing jewelry by the same designer, according to Wikipedia. Reese came out as a deb herself when she was growing up in Nashville, Tennessee.

Scott Disick reveals he was jealous of Kourtney Kardashian's Mexican getaway

When Scott Disick has gotten too deep into partying, he's often landed in rehab. That's partly why he was frustrated to hear about the craziness that went down curing his ex, Kourtney Kardashian's vacation in Mexico on the latest edition of "Keeping Up Wth the Kardashians." "We're having the best time! I threw up last night four times, in my bed, and slept in it because I could not get up," Kourtney said in a Facetime call to her mom, Kris Jenner (via ET). Scott had been home watching the pair's three children during the call, and could be seen shaking his head when he heard Kourtney tell Kris about her night. After refusing to acknowledge Kourtney when Kris tried to put the two in touch before hanging up, Scott asked, "How is it that she's allowed to throw up in bed, and I have to go to rehab if I do something like that?" Later, speaking to the camera, he explained, "The last thing I want to do is really hear exactly what Kourt's doing on this Mexican getaway. Obviously, Kourtney having a good time makes me happy. But of course in the back of my heart and mind I get a little jealous, because I wish we could have had some of those type of times while we were together." When Kris told Kourtney she thought Scott was "jealous [because] you were having fun, spending time with other people," Kourtney shrugged off Kris' concern. "Well, that's really not fair," she said. "It's just like, I can't even live my life. I can't even go anywhere. He needs to get a f—— life and leave me alone." Ouch.

"I want them to make the movie, if that's what they want to do." So said Kim Cattrall on Piers Morgan's "Life Stories," when the host asked her about the drama surrounding the now aborted plans to film another edition of the "Sex and the City" movie series. Sarah Jessica Parker recently said she was "disappointed" the movie wasn't happening amid rumors Kim forced the studio to call off plans to shoot it at the last minute because she allegedly wanted to get other projects of her own green-lit as part of a trade for her time. Speaking to Piers, Kim sounded frustrated with the whole thing — and done with "SATC" in general. "It's a great part. I played it past the finish line and then some and I loved it and another actress should play it, maybe they could make it an African American Samantha Jones or a Hispanic Samantha Jones," she suggested, according to the Daily Mail. "And now, now at this very moment it's quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I've been saying for almost a year of 'no' that I'm demanding or a diva … And this is really where I take to task the people from 'Sex And The City' and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer," she continued. Kim also denied rumors that she had made demands of any kind with regard to shooting another movie. "I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous," she said. "I remember so clearly making that decision and last December I got a phone call and it was concerning that and I knew exactly, I could feel it, and the answer was simply, 'thank you, but no, I'm good.'" Kim went on to say producers returned to her repeatedly with attempts to get her to sign on. "This isn't about more money, this is not about more scenes, it's not about any of those things," she said. "This is about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another. I'm 61. It's now."

The actor appeared at the New Yorker Festival over the weekend and opened up about how he came to play Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, the senior prophet and CFO of Savior Rick's Spooky Church of the Scary Apocalypse, on "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." "Tina and Robert came to me and they were like, 'We want you to play this guy, it's a super important part, it doesn't shoot that much,'" Jon recalled, according to Vulture. "So I said, 'OK, what's the deal?' They said, 'He's the guy … who keeps women in a bunker underground … it's funny. It's not a weird sex thing.' And I was like, 'What?' But I just leaned back on my No. 1 rule of comedy, which is basically just do anything Tina Fey says." Always a good plan.
