George Clooney weighs in on Meryl Streep's anti-Trump comments

"But seriously, aren't you supposed to be running the country?" After joking that he agreed with Donald Trump's Twitter declaration that Meryl Streep is overrated, George Clooney, in an interview with Us Weekly, wondered how the President-elect had time to respond to her anti-Trump speech at the Golden Globes. "We have to hope he can do a decent job because when the president of the United States fails, really terrible things happen," he acknowledged. "We've been very lucky as a country most of the time. I think we're going to be a little unlucky now, but I hope for the best. Look: I didn't vote for him, I don't support him and I don't think he's the right choice. But we have to hope that he doesn't destroy everything." As for Meryl's comments, George pointed to the First Amendment. "It is her right, as much as it's everyone else's right to say she can't say it. You can't demand freedom of speech and then say, 'But don't say bad things about me,' right?" he asked. "I'm doing this interview right now and there will be a billion people on Twitter who'll go, 'Shut the f— up, dude." When the interviewer noted that "possibly even Trump" could respond with that way, George replied, "Well, he's already done that before. But that's OK." The actor also announced that after Netflix airs its documentary about Syrian civil-defense rescue workers called White Helmets, he'd be involved in producing a feature-length film about their heroic work.

Things may finally be settling down on the split front for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. After Brad was met with a loud and welcoming round of applause during his Golden Globes appearance, he released a joint statement with Angelina Jolie in which they declared their commitment to a"united front" in putting the needs and interests of their children first — and keeping further details of their custody negotiations under wraps. Us Weekly caught up with Angelina's dad, Jon Voight this week and he confirmed that the family is doing well. "Everybody is good," he said.

Uma Thurman wants $2.58M from Kenneth Starr

For most of the period between 1987 and 2010, Kenneth Starr acted as Uma Thurman's financial adviser, directing her to invest in companies he'd researched, handling her taxes and providing other financial services for the actress. He went to prison in 2010 for wire fraud, investment adviser fraud and money laundering and was released last month. Now, Uma's going after him for $2.48 million she claims she lost as a result of his mishandling his duties as her adviser, according to the Daily Mail. She claims two business she invested in at his suggestion ended up failing and says he didn't warn her about the risks involved. She also wants to recoup $485,000 she says she paid him in fees over the years. Starr, who was recently released from prison for money laundering and fraud,has a trustee handling his estate and creditors. The trustee has asked a judge not to consent to Uma's request, saying she signed documents that indicated she was aware of the risks involved in the companies in which she invested. Uma's also due in court this week for a hearing related to her custody battle with her former fiance.

"Well, I've become an expert on the tweens." So said father of three Ben Affleck when he sat down to chat with Ellen DeGeneres this week. "I don't know how much Radio Disney you listen to, but I hear quite a bit," he joked (via E! News). "When we get in the car, it's got to come on right away, it's gotta stay on the whole time. I hear a lot about the romantic adventures of Disney characters who are on the Disney channel." Ben, who shares daughters Violet and Seraphina and son Samuel with Jennifer Garner, said he's also in the loop on the many glories of Taylor Swift. "We go to Taylor Swift concerts, and that's my life," he said with a shrug. "Taylor Swift is great by the way. She's a great role model."

Moby cracks up over Trump inauguration performance invite

KISS, Garth Brooks and David Foster politely declined Donald Trump's invitation to play at his inauguration. Charlotte Church denounced him as a "tyrant" when the President-elect's staffers offered her the gig. But Moby? When he was invited to perform in Washington on Jan. 20, he just laughed …. and laughed … and laughed some more. "Hahahahaha, I was just asked by a booking agent if I would consider djing at one of the inaugural balls for #trump… Hahahahaha, wait, Hahahaha, really?" Moby wrote on Instagram. "I guess I'd DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns. Also I would probably play public enemy and stockhausen remixes to entertain the republicans. I'm still laughing. Hahahaha. So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?" After seeing the post, Billboard invited Moby to share a playlist of what he might include in an inaugural set were he to actually consider taking the gig. Here's what Moby sent back (via the New York Post): "'Fight The Power' by Public Enemy; 'Killing In The Name' by Rage Against The Machine; 'American Idiot' by Green Day, Neil Young's 'Ohio,' Bob Dylan's 'Masters of War' and Pete Seeger's civil rights anthem, 'We Shall Overcome.'"

Chris Brown and Soulja Boy want to duke it out in Dubai

The Twitter feud between Chris Brown and Soulja Boy is expected to turn physical — but not in the U.S. According to TMZ, the two are trying to secure a boxing match in Dubai that will be sold in part for charity and in part for profit, via Pay-Per-View. The regulations regarding such a fight in a city like Las Vegas would reportedly prohibit Breezy and Soulja from staging the event there. Their beef went public last week when Soulja Boy tweeted, "Chris brown just called me and said he wanna fight me because I liked @karrueche picture on Instagram …"

Dennis Quaid and his ex disagree on spousal and child support

Dennis Quaid and his ex, Kimberly Quaid are back in court trying to work out the details of Dennis' child and spousal support. It seems Dennis has been paying both since Kimberly filed for divorce in June of last year. A judge never ordered a specific amount for the support and now the former couple find they disagree about what Dennis owes, according to TMZ. He's reportedly been covering living expenses for Kimberly and their two children. Depending on the judge's decision, he may have to come up with a retroactive payment to make up for money he should have sent her in previous months, or she may in turn owe Dennis if the judge decides he was paying more than his share.
