From gifting a Birkin bag to your 2-year-old daughter to making more than $75,000 per TikTok video, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at the latest news that proves stars are nothing like the rest of us. Starting off our July 2020 list is Gisele Bundchen. On July 18, the supermodel posted a photo of herself along with husband Tom Brady and children Benjamin and Vivian planting trees. "As some of you know, my birthday is coming up on July 20th. And it's not just any birthday! I can't believe I am turning 40," she began. "I feel like a whole new chapter of my life is starting, and I wanted to celebrate it in a meaningful way, so I decided to plant 40,000 trees. I have been planting trees for different projects for years, as I feel that this is the best way I know to give back to Mother Earth." She convinced her friends and family to add trees to the Amazon rainforest instead of giving her presents and also encouraged fans to donate to Viva a Vida to help her hit her goal. Within days, the Brazilian beauty had received donations for more than 50,000 trees! Keep reading for more…
Only a star would be able to close down an entire street just to move in to their multimillion-dollar home! In 2018, Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barroso bought a 6,000-square-foot penthouse in the Standish, a Beaux Arts building in New York's Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, for $16.5 million. At the time, it was considered Brooklyn's most expensive apartment. On July 14, according to Page Six, Matt closed down the entire street so they could use a gigantic crane, which towered over 14 stories, to bring furniture and trees onto their home's terrace. As to be expected, the Oscar winner's neighbors weren't happy with the dramatic production. "He closed off the street all day and parked an enormous big red crane right in the middle of the street. There was no sign of Matt, but he had a huge team of contractors and there were shrubs, decking and huge crates filled with stuff going up in the air to the terrace. We were all waiting for the grand piano to be wheeled out," quipped one. According to another neighbor, Matt's apartment building has a nickname. "We call the building the Standoffish because it is a little bit of Hollywood dumped in the middle of the more low-key Brooklyn Heights," the local said. The local resident continued, "The lobby is all gold and marble, and the units have Austrian white oak flooring and Italian Carrara marble slab countertops. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt live there, and [Matt] has a triplex penthouse on the 11th and 12th floors and the roof. It is the highest building in the neighborhood, so it has unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, New York Harbor and the bridges." Talk about luxurious living!

Leave it to Tom Cruise to prove once again that stars are nothing like us. According to The Sun, during the weekend of July 18, Tom — who returned to the UK in June when production on the seventh film in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise was allowed to resume after months of coronavirus pandemic shutdowns — surprised onlookers as he landed his helicopter on a London golf course, hopped out and went inside the clubhouse for lunch. "Locals were amazed when Tom landed on the fairway," said a source. The trained pilot set the chopper down beside the ninth hole and emerged wearing dark jeans, a black sweater and a matching black face mask, according to the British tabloid. Talk about an entrance!

On June 28, Beyonce and JAY-Z's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, earned her first BET Award! Blue, who's only 8, took home the BET Her Award for "Brown Skin Girl," a track from Bey's "The Lion King: The Gift" album that also features her mom, Wizkid and Saint Jhn. This honor, however, isn't the first one she's received for her work on the track — Blue also won the Ashford & Simpson Songwriters' Award at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards and the 2020 NAACP Image Award for outstanding duo or group. The eldest Carter kid has previously made musical appearances on both of her parents' projects — she freestyled on Jay's 2017 album, "4:44," and sang on the track "Lift Every Voice and Sing" off Bey's 2019 "Homecoming" album. Not too shabby for an elementary schooler!
Carrie Underwood's closet is a dream! On June 20, the country superstar took to Instagram to show off a new swimsuit from her CALIA by Carrie Underwood line, but fans noticed something else in the summer-ready selfie — her walk-in closet has a washer and dryer! While the closet also features luxurious additions like backlit shelves for all her shoes, it was the large island with a built-in laundry center that caught the attention of fans. "You look amazing AND is that a washer/dryer in your closet? 🙌🏼🙌🏼⚡️" commented one fan. "Closet goals," wrote another. Convenient and design genius? This is one closet we wish we had!
Talk about a luxurious gift! On July 10, Offset and Cardi B celebrated daughter Kulture's second birthday with an extravagant birthday party — the toddler even wore a designer ensemble complete with diamond accessories that matched her Grammy-winning mom! The bling, however, didn't stop there. Offset presented his daughter with a seriously expensive gift: an adorable pink Birkin bag. In a video posted on Instagram, the "Alive" rapper is seen opening an orange Hermès box as Kulture watches, telling her, "I see you, beautiful baby." Though many fans were envious of Kulture's gift, others criticized her mom and dad for giving her a purse worth thousands of dollars. Cardi B took to Instagram to clap back at the haters, saying, "When celebrities buy their kids jewelry and designer s—, people be like, 'Kids don't care about that. They only care about toys and candy.'" The "Bodak Yellow" rapper continued, "Yeah, kids only care about toys and candy, but the thing is, the kids also go outside. You know what I'm saying? Kids go to restaurants, kids go to fancy places, celebrity kids, they go do red carpets. And if I'm fly and daddy's fly, then so is the kid."
According to a July 16 People magazine report, Tyler Perry purchased 1,000 gift cards for Kroger grocery stores then recruited police officers to go door to door to various neighborhoods to hand them out to residents. "This is about the community that I love, that I live in and work in," the "Madea" creator told People in a statement. "This is about good people who are in need of a hand up not a hand out. This is about the good police officers who do their job well every day some of which are my personal friends. This is about trying to bridge unity in a city that adopted me and held me up high enough to reach my own branch on the tree of success." He continued, "I love Atlanta and its people!" The commendable act of kindness comes as Tyler's hometown continues to struggle with violence related to police brutality and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
While promoting latest single "Cono," Jason Derulo addressed rumors that he makes $75,000 for his TikTok videos. "I feel like I thrive on TikTok because I can show me. TikTok is all about creation and I love building things from nothing," he told Complex. He went on to admit that he does in fact earn a hefty amount of money for the clips he shares on the app, though he remained mum on the exact amount. "I think it's tacky to say what I do make from them, but it's far more than that," he said. "But I'm not going to say what it is." Making upwards of $75,000 for creating short videos? Sign us up!
Teyana Taylor, who released new music on an album called "The Album" in June, is apparently "super excited" to have famed singer Erykah Badu assist with the delivery of her second child. "I'm considering home birth, and I'm actually going to be doing it with Erykah," New York-born Teyana told Nick Cannon during his Power 106 radio show on June 24. "Her and [my husband] Iman [Shumpert] are going to deliver my baby. I'm [gonna] have her just sing her verse from 'Lowkey' to me to calm my nerves." The "Issues/Hold On" singer-dancer isn't keen on delivering her baby in the hospital, she told Nick. "I'll make sure it's not on the toilet or the bathroom floor," she quipped, a reference to daughter Iman's too-quick arrival in 2015. Erykah, who joined forces with Teyana to collaborate on the track "Lowkey," spoke to Pitchfork in 2015 about her decision to become a birthing coach. "I don't plan how many people I work with. I don't charge anything. It's for my own learning, and I just enjoy being the welcoming committee," she told the outlet. "I became a doula by default. I started studying to be a doula and got my certification in 2011 and now I'm in training to become a midwife. I'm almost there and before I know it I'll be able to open my own practice, if that's what I desire."
Country music star Jason Aldean and wife Brittany moved into their custom-built home in Tennessee in June and soon gave fans a glimpse into their stunning space. On July 12, Jason posted a photo of the front of their epic house, revealing that their lawn is finally starting to grow in. The following day, Brittany took to Instagram to post a pic of their dogs in the home's formal living room, which features statement chandeliers and towering windows. She also shared a snap of their bedroom complete with a gigantic quilted silver headboard with the caption, "☁️ It was all a dream☁️." Brittany has also posted pics of her spacious walk-in closet — it's two stories tall and has a spiral staircase — and the home's backyard that includes a tiki bar, a resort-style pool and a waterfall. While the family has a summer home located in Florida, their Tennessee mansion is "where we want to be from now on and kind of raise our kids," Jason told Taste of Country. "It's one of those things where I just said, 'I've worked hard over the years. If we're going to do this, let's build what we want, and not sit here in five years and go, 'Man, I wish he had done this or that.' We made sure we knew exactly what we wanted and when, and started building it."
Conor McGregor sure knows how to celebrate a special occasion! In honor of his 32nd birthday, the former UFC champ received the Astronomia Casino watch by Jacob & Co. which is designed to resemble a roulette table — and it even has a functioning spinning wheel. According to TMZ, the extravagant piece of jewelry comes complete with a ceramic ball and a rotating 1-carat white diamond. "When the pusher at eight o'clock is actuated, the wheel spins just like in Vegas or Macau," Jacob & Co. explained of the timepiece's additional special feature. The strap is alligator and includes an 18-carat rose gold buckle. As for the price of this luxurious accessory? A cool $620,000! Seriously, leave it to the Irish MMA fighter and boxer to celebrate big.
On June 15, Demi Lovato took to Instagram to gush about a romantic getaway to Joshua Tree, California, with boyfriend Max Ehrich. "I went to work on a project but it was so nice to get away for a couple days.. thank you for making me so happy my dear.. I love going on adventures with you 🥰🌵☀️," the pop star wrote alongside a series of photos chronicling their lovefest. As for their accommodations? According to TMZ, Demi rented out the famed "Invisible House" for the weekend, which costs a casual $2,500 a night! The property gets its name because its mirrored exterior reflects its surroundings, which makes it blend in with the desert. The 5,500-square-foot home includes four bedrooms with breathtaking views, a 100-foot-long indoor swimming pool and a movie projection screen. Not a bad place to spend the weekend!
Kanye West loves his real estate. According to a July 7 report from TMZ, the rapper-designer received approval to build a 52,000-square-foot megamansion on one of his Wyoming ranches. The webloid also confirmed that the "Jesus Is King" rapper has filed both zoning and building permits in Cody, Wyoming, to begin construction on his latest compound. In 2019, he purchased the 9,000-acre Monster Lake Ranch for a reported $14 million. The ranch has been the site of many Kardashian-Jenner family vacations including daughter North West's 7th birthday bash in June. TMZ further reported that authorities have approved Ye's plans to construct a 10-bedroom single-family residence that will replace lakeside cabins and additional buildings that currently exist. He plans to build two new lake houses on top of existing structures too. Kanye was further given permission to construct two underground garages that measure 10,000 square feet each.
Before drama engulfed their marriage in late July, Kim Kardashian West was surprised with a gorgeous "enchanted forest"-inspired bathroom arrangement from husband Kanye West at their California compound. "So, I come home, and my whole bathroom is decorated like an enchanted forest. And it's so beautiful and so visually pretty, with a sweet note from my husband," Kim gushed via Instagram. The reality TV star showed off stunning pastel flowers around their cement bathtub, which was filled with trees. The extravagant gesture designed by celebrity-loved floral company Mark's Garden came after Kim sold a 20% stake in her KKW Beauty brand to Coty for $200 million. The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star's luxurious living didn't stop there: While doing an at-home photoshoot for her Skims shapewear line, Kim gave fans a glimpse into the beverage refrigerator located inside her home's garage. Inside was everything from bottles of champagne to boxes of water.
