Gwyneth Paltrow's 'summer girl' post proves she's immune to time
"Is this from last week?" That's what Gwyneth Paltrow's "The Politician" costar, Ben Platt, wanted to know after the 46-year-old shared a throwback photo of herself looking like the ultimate California girl-meets-beach-bum on Thursday, Aug. 22. It was an apt question, given that Gwyneth's hardly changed since she was the smiling blond kid in the picture. Though she wrote, "I've always been a summer girl #tbt," alongside the snap, most of her fans and followers focused on either her seeming resistance to time, her straight-up cuteness (Selma Blair commented that Gwyneth was "cuteness personified") or the fact that, as one commenter put it, Gwyneth's "children are [her] clones." ("Apple!" wrote an astounded Rob Lowe.) The actress turns 47 next month.

Tom Hiddleston seems to say he's more 'protective' of his personal life, post-Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift's new album, "Lover," already has fans trying to decipher hidden references to the singer's relationship with boyfriend Joe Alwyn. But as Refinery29 points out, "Getaway Car," from Taylor's "Reputation" album warrants some attention this week, too. The song is widely believed to have been about Taylor's split with Calvin Harris and subsequent, seemingly doomed-from-the-start, tabloid aggrandized romance with Tom Hiddleston circa 2016. In a new interview with the New York Times published this week, Tom appears to share a post-op of his own on the romance — or at least, on how it changed him. Though the actor's publicist reportedly mandated that Taylor's name stay out of the interview, it sounds more than likely Tom's referring to his perspective since he and Taylor broke up when he says things like, "I'm protective about my internal world now in probably a different way. That's because I didn't realize it needed protecting before." When the two were together, Tom initially stayed mum on things but eventually started telling various outlets the two were an item and "very happy" amid a long string of photos of the two looking, well, very happy, that continually appeared all over the internet. Tom even wore an "I heart TS" shirt to his then girlfriend's Fourth of July party. So now that he sees his personal life as something that needs "protecting," does he regret the relationship with Taylor? It seems unlikely, judging from his Times comments. "If you go through life without connecting to people," he says in the interview, "how much could you call that a life?"
Jordyn Woods' mother says she lost most of her friends after Tristan Thompson scandal
The scandal that erupted after Jordyn Woods reportedly kissed Khloe Kardashian's then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson at a party in February left the 21-year-old without most of the people she once counted as friends. That's according to her mother, Elizabeth Woods, who shared a social media thank you to Teen Vogue for including what she described as a "beautiful and real" feature on Jordyn in the current issue. "To sit back and watch @jordynwoods go through all of this mental and emotional anguish has been very emotional for us and we pray for everyone daily," Elizabeth wrote in the post, adding words to the effect that we all make mistakes. "To watch the majority of her friends leave her, not be able to go get services where she got accustomed to going and get bullied by the world, it takes a strong ass family and individual to be able to deal with that on a daily basis," she continued. After assuring her daughter she's "proud" of her "strength," she said her whole family wants to see the relationships Jordyn had before the Tristan incident repaired someday. "We are praying that friendships can be mended as life is short and no one is perfect," she wrote. "All those who truly know her and us, know that love is all we have to give. We for real got this and for life I have the most valuable gift, my family ❤️❤️ #teamigotthis #mamawoods."

Why Miley Cyrus will probably keep the seven pets she shared with Liam Hemsworth
In the announcement confirming Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's split, Miley's rep mentioned the pair will "remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart." Now that their "time apart" is headed for an official divorce, where will all those aforementioned animals go? According to TMZ, the seven critters –seven dogs, two horses, two mini horses, three cats and a pig — will probably stay with their mom going forward, thanks to a new California law that allows a judge to grant custody of pets to one or both parties in the case of a divorce. The decision is usually ruled based on the pets' primary caregiver, which TMZ says is Miley. The website also points out that because Miley adopted most of the pets herself, thereby bringing them into the relationship, there's a good chance she will be the primary pet parent as the two pursue solo (or, uh, not-so-solo) paths forward.
Did Bethenny Frankel marry boyfriend Paul Bernon?
Wait, Bethenny Frankel is married? Shortly after announcing she won't return to "The Real Housewives of New York City," Bethenny tweeted a message to her castmates that was similar to the Instagram post she wrote to fans in which she thanked them for their support through the years and encouraged them to "go for it … whatever it is." In her message to the other Housewives, however, there was one key difference — a reference to her marital status. "To my NY hwives: GO GET EM! I had to go since I'm the only one that is actually married…that's how crazy this ride is," she tweeted on Friday, Aug. 23. "You are all amazing, beautiful and strong. Spread your wings and fly! Xoxo." The assumption there is that she secretly married Paul Bernon, whom she's been dating since last fall. In fact, she was kidding. People reports the "married" detail was a joke about the long and increasingly ugly divorce proceedings she's been mired in with her ex, Jason Hoppy, since they split in 2012.
Celebs react to Missy Elliott's 'Throw It Back' video from her new album, 'Iconography'
On Monday, Aug. 26, MTV will honor Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott with the Video Vanguard Award, effectively the Video Music Awards' version of a Lifetime Achievement Award. So it's only fitting that the rapper kicked off the weekend by releasing an amazing, dance-stuffed video for her new track, "Throw It Back," off "Iconography," her first collection of new music in 14 years. The song looks back on Missy's undeniably lasting impact on contemporary hip-hop culture, featuring lines like "I raised all these babies …" And the world — including Missy's famous fans — seems to agree with that sentiment. Her social media posts about the new vid earned love and a whole lot of fire Emojis from the likes of Halle Berry, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Natasha Bedingfield and more stars. The 2019 MTV VMAs air Monday at 8pm.
Victoria Beckham snuggles up to David on their family vacation
The Beckhams are hard at work squeezing every last bit of sun and surf they can out of the summer before it ends. This week, both David Beckham and Victoria Beckham shared posts from their vacation with all four of their kids, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. One cute shot showed Victoria cuddling up to her guy on a yacht while cradling a glass of wine as David laughs. "Again… Who knew I was so funny?!?!x," Victoria joked in the caption. Other posts showed David parasailing with the kids, including a nervous-looking Harper, and a morning of family yoga in the grass. According to the Daily Mail, the fam is staying in Puglia.
Lara Spencer apologizes for making fun of Prince George's love of ballet
Lara Spencer has publicly apologized for comments about Prince George that she made on "Good Morning America" on Thursday, Aug. 22. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spencer paused while talking about the "demanding" school curriculum the 6-year-old is heading into this fall when she got to the word "ballet." "In addition to the usual first or second grade things, like math, science and history, the future King of England will be putting down the Play-Doh to take on religious studies, computer programming, poetry and ballet among other things," she said, leaving a pregnant silence before the dance reference. During the pause, Spencer's co-anchors could be heard chuckling. "GMA" then flashed a photo on the screen that showed George seeming to laugh while lying in the grass. "He looks so happy about the ballet class," she cracked. "Prince William says George absolutely loves ballet. I have news for you Prince William: We'll see how long that lasts." It wasn't long before critics tore into her on social media. "OK, Lara Spencer, seriously? Laughing at boys who take ballet?" Rosie O'Donnell asked in a video post. "What's up with that? Come on, Lara Spencer. Please. I mean, [Mikhail] Baryshnikov, every Tony Award winner. It's ridiculous. It's like bullying on national TV. Boys who take ballet are cool and they'll entertain you." Others blasted the "GMA" star for "disgusting homophobic bullying" and slammed her for being ignorant. Early on Friday, she apologized on her Instagram Story, telling followers: "My deepest apologies for an insensitive comment I made during pop news on Thursday. From ballet, which I took as a kid, to anything in life you wish to explore, I fully believe we should all pursue our passion. Go climb your mountain — and love every minute of it." George, by the way, attends Thomas's Battersea. His sister, Charlotte, is expected to join him there this year.
Milla Jovovich cradles her baby bump as she wishes Paul Anderson a 'happy ten year anniversary'
Milla Jovovich and her husband, Paul W.S. Anderson, celebrated their first decade of marriage this week in England, where they've been traveling with their kids, Dashiel, 4, and Ever, 11. The model and actress commemorated their big day with a loving post on Instagram that featured photos from their first days as a couple alongside pics of their growing family taken this summer. "HAPPY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO MY AMAZING HUSBAND!!!" she captioned the gallery. "Looking at who we are today compared to the kids we were when we first met … it's so crazy to see how far we've come together!" the third-time mom-to-be captioned her post. "What a joy it's been living life with you for so many years! What a whirlwind, what a journey, what a truly incredible and epic experience it's been!" She went on to marvel that she "can't believe it's possible that I found such a special man all those years ago," before heaping praise on him, saying Paul is the person who "has loved me non stop, through thick and thin, that has loved being in a relationship with me for so many years, that has adored and completely embraced the experience of having children and been by our side every minute of every day." She continued: "I can't begin to express how lucky we are to have such an amazing papa in our lives. Your love and support, your friendship, your passion, your talent and brain, you're just unreal! And you're so handsome on top of everything.😘. You are truly the best man I could ever have dreamed of and I know it every single day. I love you beyond words husband.💋" Milla announced earlier this month that she's "knocked up again" and asked for well wishes for her and her baby after having undergone an emergency abortion more than four months into last pregnancy.
Khloe Kardashian shuts down troll offering unsolicited parenting advice
Sorry, Instagram, but Khloe Kardashian doesn't have time for your mom-shaming. The reality star shared a sweet photo showing her daughter, True Thompson, sharing a snack of Cheetos, Veggie Straws and agua with Kim Kardashian West's daughter, Chicago West. "Chi: I heard my mama say 'vacation calories don't count,'" Khloe joked in the caption. "True: Don't tell me twice Chi," she added, filling in would-be dialogue for the 1-year-olds. When Kim later chimed in to comment, "our babies," Khloe quipped, "our foodies." But at least one commenter seemed to think Khloe was being serious about the girls' calorie concerns. "Omg a baby doesn't need to be counting calories," the user wrote (via ET). Khloe, who probably doesn't need to be taking advice from Instagrammers, responded by quickly shutting the person down. "Obviously," she wrote, adding, "You're not well if you think babies count calories," and an eye roll Emoji. Khloe, Kim, True, Chicago and Chicago's siblings recently headed to the Bahamas for a quickie family vacation.
