"I think that pregnancy really prepares you and gets you ready for motherhood, you never know exactly quite what to expect," Hilary told Parade in 2015. "On the positive side of things, it's amazing. I really felt like my life literally grew and you don't even know it's possible. It's taught me a lot of patience and to slow down and don't let the days pass you by."
"Man… pregnancy is hard," Hilary wrote on Instagram in when she was pregnant with her daughter in 2018. "Giving love to all mamas who make it look effortless… this journey is hard as h– and also incredibly special….Lovely to have a little life inside and to day dream of all the new adventures to come buuuut almost impossible to get my own shoes on."

"It was a little isolating in the beginning because I didn't have any friends that had babies yet," Hilary said of her first pregnancy at age 24 on "The Motherly Podcast Motherly Podcast" last year. "But I had been working for such a long time that it felt like a natural step for me and I always knew I wanted to be a mom and I always knew that was going to be my number one priority in life. So, I felt ready on some fronts and a little scared on others. … I only got scared once I was pregnant, you know, thinking like, 'Oh this is actually really happening. What if this? What if that?'"
"I'd say the hardest challenge was probably my first trimester: keeping it a secret and feeling so tired and shooting long hours [of 'Younger'] and being in New York away from my other baby," Hilary told Wonderwall in 2018, reflecting on her second pregnancy. "That was emotional and exhausting. Then once I wrapped the show, I was feeling way better. But she's been good to me. Besides being tired, I haven't been sick — and my skin's been good! I think having another child to focus on makes pregnancy go by a lot faster. You don't have time to Google every little ache or pain you have."
"The first time [I was pregnant], I stopped exercising, and then that encouraged me to eat poorly because I know I'm not putting in the work. So this time around, I've been having really fun cheat days, which is important during pregnancy, but I'm also trying to eat [well]," Hilary said in a 2018 interview with Wonderwall. "I've been craving fruit a lot, which is great — so lots of fruit and veggies. But also the carb craving is so real that it's important to keep the workouts going. And I've just been busy. With Luca, I wasn't working, so this time around, I don't have as much time to focus on me, and I think that's helped me stay a little more in shape."
"Having kids changes everything," Hilary told MyDomaine in 2018. "Life's not really about you anymore. Having kids has taught me unbelievable patience and brought immense joy to my life."
