Katy Perry goes back to long dark hair for 'Idol' taping
Katy Perry's hair seems to be having an identity crisis. After the singer took the stage in Mexico City less than a week ago with her hair in the short, blonde crop she's been rocking since last spring, she appeared at a live taping of "American Idol" on Sunday, May 6, with long, dark tresses — a perfect accent for the floor length Alexis Mabille gown she'd chosen for the show. The next day, however, the singer was spotted in New York City — and though her head was partially covered by the hoodie of her track suit, her coif appeared to be short and blonde once more. "Everything is more fun with short hair," she told W after the first time she went super short. "I can just get up and go," she explained. "I feel so liberated with this hair now."

Uma Thurman explains why she would work with Quentin Tarantino again
Uma Thurman hasn't forgotten how she nearly died shooting a driving scene in a vintage car on the set of "Kill Bill," but she hasn't given up on her longtime friend and collaborator, Quentin Tarantino, either. "Do I have a chronically bad neck? Yeah," she recently told Entertainment Weekly, referring to the car crash she endured in their film together. "Was I mad about how it was handled and how I was treated? Yes. But does that mean I don't care about someone that I have 25 years of history with? No! My capacity to forgive exists and things happen. The accident itself was wrong, but I tried to explain that it was the environment around it that wounded me the most." The actress went on to explain that despite having shared "some tragedies," she and Quentin have an important bond. "… You can't reduce that type of history and legacy," Uma said. :"It would have been reduced to my car accident if I died." Asked if she'd ever work with him again, she said she would — in the right circumstances,. "If he wrote a great part! I understand him and if he wrote a great part and we were both in the right place about it, that would be something else," Uma said.
Chip Gaines runs his first marathon, helps raise money for cancer research
Chip Gaines is officially a marathon runner. As his wife, Joanna Gaines, cheered him on from the sidelines, Chip crossed the finish line of his first marathon on Sunday, May 6 — while wearing his "Fixer Upper" toolbelt. "I can tell you this beyond a shadow of a doubt, that thing is a doozy," he said with a smile after the race, according to Runner's World. Chip also spent some time with his muse for the race, Gabriele Grunewald, a professional runner who's battled cancer four times. Gabriele and Chip became pals after a chance meeting in Central Park. The race ultimately raised $250,000 for the cause..
Harvey Weinstein thinks personal emails will show he's innocent in sexual assault case
Will Harvey Weinstein manage to clear his name of scores of sexual misconduct and assault allegations in court? He and his criminal attorneys seem to think so. They also think they'll need access to hundreds of emails, texts and personal files currently owned by The Weinstein Company in order to do so. The Blast reports lawyers for the former producer filed documents in one of the lawsuits again him requesting the items be allowed as evidence because they allegedly prove his accusers continued to communicate with him after the dates on which they say he attacked them. The motion says the evidence needs to be made available before The Weinstein Company is sold. One email in particular has the lawyers convinced they can prove their client is innocent. "The woman through her agent reached out to Mr. Weinstein, begging to be invited to a high-profile industry party, as Mr. Weinstein's personal VIP guest, hardly conduct consistent with a claim of forcible rape allegedly committed by the person who the 'victim' is then demanding personal and very public access to," the documents read. They go on to claim that "these personal email exchanges of friendly and often intimate character will substantially undermine claims of an abusive relationship between Mr. Weinstein and these women who now portray themselves to be his 'victims.'" The lawyers also say that "the allegations relating to forcible misconduct are entirely without merit," adding that Harvey is now "in treatment for personal issues in the hope of becoming a better person and one day soon hopefully restoring his life and again continuing the pursuit of the extraordinary charity that he has always been engaged in." The documents also say Harvey would be happy to fork over the estimated $750,000 it would cost to obtain images of the emails in question.

Which celebs will skip the Met Gala this year?
Last year, Gwyneth Paltrow back peddled on her gripe that the Met Gala is "boiling" and "un-fun" when she showed up for the 2017 event. As celebs prepare to attend this year's gala in New York City on Monday, May 7, some insiders sound like they agree with Gwyneth's initial review of the Anna Wintour-organized affair. Speaking to Page Six, a source described as a "Hollywood handler" recently likened the gala to a "Mean Girls" party because of the Vogue honcho's habit of banning certain people she doesn't like and making celebs arrive at specific times based on their seeming importance. The tab also claims more A-listers are bailing on the event than ever this year because it's so "long, drawn out and boring." Said one publicist: "Look, it's a very tedious night. It's very much work for [celebs]. It's very structured, there's a lot of pressure to network, and [it's] not that much of an enjoyable evening." Another insider added that "the overall ambience isn't super friendly … If you walk into the girls bathroom, all the celebrities are hanging out together, smoking together and ignoring everyone else." This year's theme is "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."

After their afternoon hang, a handful of celebs headed to Harry Josh's pre-Met Gala party, while Selena opted to stop by a spa to get some pre-gala pampering.
That time Beyonce got her hair caught in a bike at SoulCycle
Ouch! Beyonce is no longer a SoulCycle fan after an unpleasant scuffle between her braids and one of the machines at her local studio. According to the Sun, Bey and Jay were regulars at the gym's public classes after the birth of their twins, Rumi and Sir. Bey stopped going, however, after an incident that left her long hair, which apparently hadn't been adequately tied back, got caught in her stationary bike. "Bey couldn't move and the panicked staff had to yank her hair out of the machine," an insider told the tab. "She always used to come in to the class after the first song, sit on a bike at the back and leave during the last tune to avoid being noticed by anyone. But she hasn't been back."
John Oliver: Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani are 'two versions of the same person'
John Oliver believes he's cracked the code on Donald Trump's relationship with Rudy Giuiani. The president added the former New York City mayor to his legal team last month, but the way John sees it, the two have more than just political interests in common. "Think about it. They're basically two versions of the same person," John said on "Last Week Tonight" this week (via Vulture), referencing their multiple failed marriages and the fact that Rudy married his own second cousin. "They're both New Yorkers coasting on their reputations, they've both had three marriages, neither of them can shut up in front of a camera, and perhaps most importantly, they both want to f— Ivanka," John said, "which is weird for Trump because Ivanka is in his family, and is weird for Giuliani because she isn't."
