Kylie Jenner gets candid about her long struggle with anxiety on Instagram
Since she arrived in Turks and Caicos this past weekend, Kylie Jenner's jealously-inducing social media posts have been stirring up some negative responses. A few users have claimed she edited pictures to make herself appear more slim and curvy, while others alleged she copied a nude sunbathing pose from Instagram influencer Amanda Ensing, according to E! News. Kylie doesn't seem to be letting any of the chatter get to her, though. On Monday, July 15, the 21-year-old makeup entrepreneur shared a long and candid post about the pressures of her public life — and how anxiety has been an ongoing struggle for her. Though she didn't say explicitly that her train of thought was tied to the Instagram post criticism she's been fielding, she did point out that her social media existence is a superficial one that can, at times, mask what's below the surface. "I'm proud of myself, my heart, and my strength. growing up in the light with a million eyes on you just isn't normal," the post begins. "I've lost friends along the way and I've lost myself too sometimes. my first tattoo was 'sanity' to remind myself everyday to keep it." Kylie goes on to talk about the emotional effects of welcoming her daughter, Stormi, with Travis Scott: "I've struggled with anxiety my whole young adult life and after my baby i dealt with all the internal ups and downs. I felt like i had to find myself completely again," she says. "I keep a whole lot to myself but just wanted to share and let you know I'm human. my life is not perfect and what you see here on social media is just the surface." Before signing off, she encourages followers to indulge in some self-care. "Be gentle with yourself, move on, and let go," she says. "We are all capable of great things, worthy of love, and allowed to express ourselves. do more of what makes you happy and be unapologetic. now is your season ✨ we all have a magnificent destiny." Kylie's sister, Khloé Kardashian, was among the first to comment on the message, writing, "Amen sweet sister!!!!" Kourtney Kardashian followed suit, chiming in to say, "I am proud of you ✨ Let it out."

Behold John Mayer's perfect response to a fan asking how he's 'still single' …
John Mayer has clearly learned the key life lesson that words have consequences. Describing one's intimate encounters with another celebrity as "crack cocaine" or "sexual napalm" during an interview with Playboy magazine, for example, or telling the New York Times you see dating women as a form of "punishment, shame, guilt, disappointment …" and worse, it turns out, does eventually come back to bite you in the you-know-what. But as John proved in his perfect response to a fan's Instagram comment last week, he's learning to embrace his past rather than from it. After he shared a black and white photo of himself playing guitar, the aforementioned fan gushed, "Beautiful! How are you still single?" John's reply: "Google me."

Lady Gaga faces backlash for launching makeup line with Amazon amid strikes, reportedly poor working conditions
From the women who sued Amazon for firing them when they got pregnant to the fulfillment center workers who have died on the job in recent years to the company's resistance to unions, Amazon arrived at its 2019 Prime Day events (and workers' strikes) facing no small amount of backlash. But that hasn't stopped Lady Gaga from using the digital shopping service to exclusively launch her first makeup line, Haus Laboratories, which became available for pre-order on Monday, July 15. By Tuesday, according to USA Today, fans were complaining about the move on social media, posting gripes like, "My love for lady Gaga and makeup is strong but my hate for Amazon is stronger so guess I won't be preordering haus laboratories! #BoycottPrimeDay." Others found it odd that the collection's marketing materials highlight the value of individualism, strong self-worth and embracing one's inner beauty when the products can only be pre-ordered through a service where workers say they're being systematically denied rights that would allow them to embrace any of those things on the job. In a recent interview with The Business of Fashion, Lady Gaga said she wanted to work with Amazon because the company was so willing to let her maintain creative independence while developing the line — and because it agreed to sell makeup made to foster what the Mother Monster describes a "message of self-acceptance." As of Tuesday afternoon, multiple outlets had reached out to Lady G's team for comment.

Prince Louis gets a signed Stan Smith sneaker from the tennis legend at Wimbledon
Duchess Kate and Prince William opted to leave their youngest, Prince Louis, at home when they headed to Wimbledon on Sunday, July 14, to watch Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer at the nail-biter of a Men's Singles Final. Louis was there in spirit, though, thanks to tennis legend Stan Smith. Harper's Bazaar reports that at one point during the final, the retired athlete reached across the Royal Box to hand Kate a tiny, autographed Stan Smith sneaker — one of Adidas' most iconic editions — for her 1-year-old son. Footwear News reports the shoe reads simply, "To Louis," in gold lettering,
Nipsey Hussle's strip mall was at the center of a police investigation at the time of his death
When Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside his Los Angeles clothing store on March 31, the Los Angeles Police Department was already in the process of investigating possible gang activity at the strip mall where the store is housed. That's according to the New York Times, which reported this week that a joint probe helmed by the LAPD and office of the city attorney had been underway for some time. Though few details about what sparked the investigation have been revealed, it seems efforts were being made to "mitigate some of those crime issues" and determine whether gang activity was associated with the businesses in the strip mall, which Nipsey owned, according to an LAPD spokesperson. Eric Holder, the prime suspect in Nipsey's shooting, was reportedly a member of the gang to which the rapper once belonged.
Harry Styles to testify in court against alleged stalker
Harry Styles is expected to testify in court against an alleged stalker this fall. The Sun reports Pablo Tarazaga-Orero, 26, was arrested at an unnamed airport in Europe after having allegedly harassed the singer for two months by contacting him through correspondence he put in Harry's mailbox. Pablo has also been accused of "making unwanted advances towards [Harry] in [the] street" outside his London home and is said to have been sleeping outside the property, according to the Daily Mail. A native of Spain, Pablo is reportedly now in custody in the U.K, where he appeared in court on Monday, July 15. He has denied the stalking allegations. Harry will reportedly be allowed to give his testimony from behind a screen when the trial begins in October.
Shia LaBeouf steps out with his mystery brunette again
Does Shia LaBeouf have a new love interest? On the heels of rumors his months-long relationship with singer FKA Twigs is on hold, the "Peanut Butter Falcon" actor was spotted for the umpteenth time with the young brunette woman who accompanied him to Kanye West's Sunday Service at the end of May. Photos published by the Daily Mail show Shia and his lady friend leaving Swinger's diner in the West Hollywood section of Los Angeles this week. The pair's been seen on and off together since they joined Kanye for his musical service, with previous reports pointing to a lunch date they shared at Otium last month. Prior to dating FKA Twigs, Shia was married to Mia Goth for about two years.
Why Hugh Grant wants to do away with social media
Since 2011, Hugh Grant has played a major role in the British press reform campaign, Hacked Off, an organization that was created in response to the U.K.'s phone hacking scandal that today seeks to protect "victims of press abuse," according to its website. According to Variety, Hugh recently announced Hacked Off will now also tackle "online propaganda" and those it affects. "It's particularly terrifying, the triumph of technology over democracy," Hugh said recently on the outlet's "My Favorite Episode" podcast. "You realize, Trump couldn't have happened without Facebook manipulation, and Brexit couldn't have happened without it. It's all the ability now, people with enough money and resources, to manipulate swing voters through very highly tailored Facebook ads." From his perspective, the star (and avid Twitter user) feels the best answer would be to eradicate Facebook and all platforms like it from our lives. "I would just pull the plug on social media," he asserted. "I look at the pluses and minuses, and to me the minuses way outweigh the pluses. We had perfectly decent lives before social media. At the very minimum, I would take away anonymity from social media posts."
Kim Kardashian West credits her tiny waist to her new, vegan diet
The Met Gala may be months behind her, but Kim Kardashian West isn't quite ready to give up her tiny-waist, Met Gala look that left some fans wondering if she'd had a rib removed to fit in her faux-wet Thierry Mugler gown. In that case, no body parts were removed, though she did use famed corset designer Mr. Pearly to intensify her look. Now, it seems she's getting pretty close to the same super slim waist simply by axing animal products from her diet. In an Instagram Story-filmed chat between Kim and her pal Anastasia Soare last week, Anastasia couldn't stop talking about the tiny size of Kim's middle. "Please explain to me how it's possible … this waist!" Anastasia exclaimed (via Us Weekly). "Oh, come on!" Kim told her friend before assuring fans, "Don't worry. I didn't remove any ribs, you guys." That wasn't good enough for Anastasia, though. "Did you remove your ribs?" she asked, half joking. Said Kim: "I think that honestly being a vegan now helps." Kim announced she was only maintaining a vegan diet for all meals she ate at home back in April; it sounds as if she's now expanded that approach to a fully vegan meal plan.
Katy Perry reveals her enema-focused anti-aging secret
Katy Perry will see your vegan diet, Kim Kardashian West, and raise you one enema-centric Arurvedic cleanse. Speaking to the host of the Australia radio program, "Smallzy's Surgery," Katy explained that she's been experimenting with different approaches to self-help to target both her physical and mental well-being. Seems one of those approaches involves detoxifying her what goes into her bod as it's, uh, on its way out. "I'm kind of into those type of things, like health and healing places and self-betterment places," she said, according to Page Six. "Especially as you get older and you have longer hangovers, you realize the cells in my body are dying. I did this thing called Panca Karma, it's basically Ayurvedic eating and cleansing, you do lots of enemas." The tab checked in with Adore Yoga and leanred that Panca Karma is "a full cleansing program that removes all the harmful toxins from the body to create optimum healing conditions … that takes 21 days to complete." Said Katy: "You definitely feel more energy, it basically like gets all the crap out of you, every pun intended. … There are ancient ways to heal yourself besides just taking a pill, which is something I always love to investigate." Not that she's opposed to the occasional indulgence. "Orlando is very all about that kind of new age of living, for instance, today we are actually on a little bit of a health kick because we ate so many croissants when we were on vacation," she said, referring to her fiance, Orlando Bloom. To overcome the croissant situation, she added, the couple had spent the day, "eating fruit and apple cider vinegar and later I may have a vegan meal." Again, though, it's all about balance for Katy. Case in point? "Probably tomorrow I will have an In-N-Out burger," she admitted.
