Leah Remini urges Scientologists to leave the church
In an interview with "Sunrise" on Tuesday, Jan. 31, Leah Remini urged Scientologists to break away from the religion, which she says she left when she realized the organization "tried to separate" her family. "For those who are in the dark, I want to say, 'Stop it. Stop giving up your families and your life for something that is truly damaging,'" she said, according to the Daily Mail. Leah also recalled the impact of the response she got more than a decade ago when she wondered why church leader David Miscaviage wife did not join her husband at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding. "Where was she? And I was told that I did not have the rank to be asking where the leader's wife was" she said. "And I certainly felt like I did as a human being to ask where another human being was … Nobody really wanted to get involved in my fight. That showed me something about who we really were as a group, as an organization … we're not supposed to be those people who turn the other way." She added: "The people that are there truly live in a bubble, like I did. I truly believed that we were really doing great things for the world." Leah left the religion in 2013; she helmed "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath" last year.

The Kardashian-Jenner krewe arrived back home in Los Angeles on Monday, Jan. 30, after a few days of R&R — and "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" filming — in Costa Rica. Us Weekly reports Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Kim Kardashian, plus North and Saint West, Kourtney Kardashian, Scott Disick and their kids, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner along with Tyga and his son spent the weekend at a 30,000-square-foot private sanctuary called Villa Manzu. Taking advantage of the five acre-wide property and easy beach access, they swam, took golf cart rides and a private helicopter tour, hiked through the jungle and indulged in spa treatments, all with the assistance of a full-time wait staff including bartenders, a maid and butler and private drivers to get them wherever they wanted to go. Inside, the family spread out across eight bedroom suites and a kids' bunk room with Indonesian carved beds at night. During the day, their digs offered options including a bar and party room, a theater room, a wine and cigar room, a gym and yoga platform, two swimming pools, a spa, hammocks and 180-degree ocean views. At $16,500 a night, their stay at the villa — minus travel, meals out and other extras — started at $66,000.

Kit Harington's sex symbol status apparently started long before he ever played Jon Snow on "Game of Thrones." Elle recently checked in with the actor about his real-life first time, referencing the fact that his TV character lost his virginity in a cave to Ygritte. (Fun fact: Kit and Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte, fell in love on set in Iceland and are still together.) "Mine was a little less left-field than in a cave," he said (via Us Weekly), thinking back to when he lost his own virginity. "It was a typical sort of teenage thing, at a party. I was probably too young. I think the girl and I just kind of wanted to. You either hold on and do it right, or you're young and decide to get the monkey off your back."

Anne Hathaway: 'We must continue our tradition of welcoming those in need'
This week, Anne Hathaway joined the growing ranks of celebrities speaking out about Donald Trump's executive order banning immigration and travel from seven Muslim-majority countries. It was her first post since New Year's and while she admitted she'd hoped to stay off Instagram longer than a month, she explained why she feels it's important to use her voice now. "I wasn't planning on coming back so soon, but this moment cannot be met with silence," she began, sharing a photo of a bloody Syrian girl alongside Anne Frank and a link to a 2016 New York Times op-ed that compared the plights of Holocaust and Syrian refugees. "America is great when she is allowed to be herself- a country powerful enough to accept and absorb those [whose] lives have been broken by circumstances beyond their control, a beacon of hope in a world ravaged by war, sorrow and destruction ALL WHILE she keeps her own citizens safe," the actress continued. "We must continue our tradition of welcoming those in need. If we are not that, we are nothing. My prayers go straight to the heart of the fearful- I am sorry you are scared. Vanessa Hudgens still frustrated about Sedona stone controversy
A year after she was investigated for allegedly defacing federal land in Sedona, Vanessa Hudgens still has an issue with the controversy over her use of chalk on a rock formation in Arizona. Speaking to Sway Calloway on Sirius XM Radio this week, she reflected on the incident, which involved her and her boyfriend, Austin Butler, writing their names and a heart in chalk on a rock in Coconino National Forest. "Me and my boyfriend were on a hike and then wrote our names on a rock with another rock and then people accused me of carving into this rock. But literally I took a piece of rock and wrote on the rock," she said (via the Daily Mail). "It's the type of thing where it's chalk, so if you rub it, it comes off. So I knew with the first rain it would go away. I'm such an earth person. I love mother nature. I love being connected to the natural environment. "It was a whole situation that was really frustrating. I don't mean to disrespect anyone or the land. It's not like I took a key and carved it." She ultimately paid $1,000 in restitution to the United States Forest Service — a few thousand dollars less than the potential maximum penalty (which also could have included jail time). "I donated a lot of money to the park to say sorry for the drama it's caused, you guys, but like literally with the first rain, it would've washed off," she said.
Lindsay Lohan addresses Islam rumors, Donald Trump and more
The "clean slate" Lindsay Lohan adopted at the start of the year seems to be working. In a call to KIIS 106.5's "Kyle and Jackie O Show" in Australia this week, Lindsay was a paragon of calm, cool and collected as she answered questions about rumors she's converted to Islam, her life in Dubai and her feelings about Donald Trump, who the show hosts reminded her once told Howard Stern "deeply troubled" women like Lindsay "are always the best in bed." As for her addition of the Arabic "Alaikum salam" to her Instagram bio, Lindsay said, "If you guys in Australia really cared about me, then you would have noticed [it's] been there for about two years," according to E! News. She was even more mellow and gracious when it came to the now-president's 2004 comments about her. "I wish him the best," said LiLo. "We live in a world of societies that consistently fault in people … taking someone else down is never the answer and I think we all know that." Before ending the call, Kylie and Jackie O asked about Lindsay's relationship with Oprah Winfrey, recalling the time her OWN series taped and replayed a flustered Lindsay hanging up on an interview with the Australian radio personalities. When the incident was brought up, Lindsay promptly hung up — again. This time, however, it turned out to be a joke. She got back on the line and declared, "That was great. We're good together. We should have our own show in Dubai."
Andi Dorfman to release second book
"Bachelorette"-turned-author Andi Dorfman is working on a second book. Us Weekly reports the former Assistant District Attorney from Georgia will release "Single State of Mind" on Jan. 30, 2018, via Gallery Books. Covering memories ranging from bad apartment rentals to app dating to Josh Murray's "Bachelor in Paradise" proposal to Amanda Stanton, the book is expected to be personal in nature, much like the best-seller, "It's Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Never After." "No one is going to choose happiness for you," she told Us Weekly last year. "You have to choose it yourself. I decided to get lost in New York. It was the best decision of my life. Still, it's not like every day is paradise here. You can make the conscious choice to be happy or not."

Is Rob Lowe hiring a personal assistant?
Rob Lowe is reportedly in the market for a new personal assistant with an eagle eye attuned to a client's caffeine needs and a $70,000-plus-benefits salary range. Sources tell TMZ Rob posted a job listing on a website for personal assistants. The requirements are reportedly as follows: "Never assume anything; ensure the client is fed and has coffee throughout the day; schedule haircuts every episode for the CLIENT; ensure that the CLIENT HAS A DINNER PLAN IF ARRIVING HOME LATER THAN 8 PM in the evening; make sure you let Estate staff know if the CLIENT wants a Jacuzzi turned on or a massage ordered for his arrival; willing to travel on location as requested and serve as the CLIENT'S body man; be able to lift up to 25 pounds as required to support THE CLIENT." Although reps for the actor told TMZ they didn't think the listing matched an assistant job with Rob, they did have this to say: "We can confirm coffee is his No. 1 priority in life."
