While accepting the Fashion Rebel Award at the Fashion Los Angeles Awards on Sunday, April 2, Nicki Minaj took a moment to point out how hard rebelling can be for an artist whose every move is made public. "We all have insecurities," she told the audience, according to Us Weekly. "I want to say, shout-out to all of the kick-ass women, not only in this room, but all around the world. You know what, we win and fail in the public eye. That's not easy to do. People think they know what it requires. People think they can do it. Everybody wants to walk in your shoes, until you put them in your shoes." The feud-prone rapper continued: "It takes guts, it takes balls to fail and to make mistakes in the public eye, and to read s—– comments about yourself every … day and to still have a beautiful … smile on your f—— face." In closing, she added, "I love you guys so much for believing in me. I took some time off to rest, and now it's game time, b——."

Miranda Lambert thanks fans for letting her funnel 'heartbreak' into new album
Miranda Lambert broke Reba McEntire's record for the most consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year honors at the ACM Awards on Sunday, April 2. "This really means the world to me," she said, according to ET. "I'm just glad to see females kicking ass these days, I'm so proud to be part of that." The singer also took home the Album of the Year award for her emotional hit record, "The Weight of These Wings," inspired largely by her split from Blake Shelton. "I just want to say thank you for letting me use my heartbreak and sharing that with me," she told the crowd.
Prince Charles was reportedly 'bullied' into proposing to Diana
The duress under which Prince Charles and Princess Diana's marriage came to fruition hasn't been much of a secret, but a new book, "Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbable Life," sheds light on the circumstances that led to Charles' proposal. According to author Sally Bedell Smith (via Celebitchy), Charles' father Prince Philip "sent a letter to Charles saying that Diana's reputation was on the line and that he had to make a decision about their relationship. Charles read it as an order to get engaged, but he 'wasn't in love, he wasn't ready. Psychologically he assumed his father bullied him, so he read it as a bullying letter." Patricia Mountbatten, meanwhile, is quoted in the book as saying Charles "realized that if he called it off, it would ruin Diana's future," asking, "If Prince Charles didn't want her, who would?"
Meghan Markle's sister pens tell-all
Prince Charles isn't the only royal-connected subject of a new book this spring. The New York Post reports Meghan Markle's 51-year-old half-sister, Samantha Grant, is writing a tell all in which she refers to the "Suits" actress as "Princess Pushy" and expands on some of the not-so-loving claims she made about her sister's aspirations for her relationship with Prince Harry in an interview with The Sun last year. "My book deals with my bi-racial family in a candid, warm, personal and socially important way," Samantha told the Daily Star. "Maybe when Meghan is more mature and reads the book she'll understand. Some of it she won't like, some of it she might." Given that the working title of the book is said to be "The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister," we're guessing the parts Meghan "won't like" will overshadow the parts "she might."
Is it over for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi?
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi found themselves at the center of yet another split rumor last week when InTouch reported they were in the process of figuring out who would get what ahead of an allegedly impending divorce. The tab quoted a source as saying Portia was "jealous" of Ellen's friendships with other actresses and that couples counseling hadn't helped them work out their issues with one another. GossipCop has since debunked the claim, citing a source who called the claim the couple's eight-year marriage was ending "nonsense."
Kim Kardashian denies attack rumors
Everybody, calm down. That's the message Kim Kardashian put out after hearing rumors she was attacked on the street after leaving Mr. Chow following the Fashion Los Angeles Awards on Sunday, April 2. "So @JonathanCheban just called me & asked if I was ok & read online I was attacked outside of Mr. Chow. Totally not true! Such weird rumors," she tweeted (via E! News ). Turn out she had simply bumped into someone — and made an alarmed face during the encounter. Fair to say anyone who was robbed at gunpoint six months ago can be expected to remain a little jumpy when their personal space gets invaded by a stranger.
Celebs raise awareness about autism on World Autism Day
Sunday, April 2, was World Autism Day and celebs like Holly Robinson Peete, whose son is autistic, hopped on social media to raise awareness about the disease and how to help raise money to find a cure. "It's #WorldAutismDay and @RodneyPeete9 & I are so grateful to families who shared their #autism journey w/us!" Holly wrote (via GossipCop). Mark Wahlberg announced his burger chain was getting involved with the cause as well, tweeting, "In support of #WorldAutismAwarenessDay on Sunday April 2 #Wahlburgers in Hingham, Fenway & Lynnfield will donate 10% of proceeds to CORSE [Community of Resources for Special Education]," while Rose O'Donnell simply posted, "#InternationalAutismAwarenessDay #noSHAMEautism."
