'Glee' actors and actresses: Their highs and lows

It's been nearly a decade since "Glee" debuted on FOX in 2009. Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars — Lea Michele, Jane Lynch, Naya Rivera, Cory Monteith and more — and the highlights — good and bad! — from their time in the spotlight — from hookups and breakups to babies, scandals, tragedies and more.

In September 2011, Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) and her boyfriend of a year, Broadway actor Theo Stockman, called it quits. Within months, reports that the singer-actress and Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) had taken their on-screen romance off camera first surfaced. By April, it became clear that the "Glee" co-stars were an item.

In March 2013, Cory Monteith checked into rehab for substance addiction. The "Glee" star — who first opened up about his struggles with drug abuse in 2011 — checked out a month later and appeared to be in good health, but tragically, the actor suffered a relapse that claimed his life at age 31 on July 13, 2013.

A year after the death of on-screen and real-life love Cory Monteith, Lea Michele finally moved on with lifestyle coach Matthew Paetz (pictured), whom she reportedly met on the set of her "On My Way" music video. In October 2014, the duo made their public debut at a Hollywood event. Though they called it quits in early 2016, Lea has been happily coupled up with new love Zandy Reich since mid-2017.

In January 2013, Playboy model Roxanne Gorzela sued Mark Salling (Noah "Puck" Puckerman) for sexual battery. According to TMZ, the model-DJ alleged that the "Glee" star forced himself on her sans contraception when they hooked up in March 2011. The actor fired back by suing his ex for trespassing, assault and battery, alleging that she broke into his home, attacked him and then vandalized his car. Sadly, this was only the beginning of Mark's troubles…

In December 2015, police arrested Mark Salling for possession of child pornography. An ex-girlfriend reportedly tipped off the cops, who found thousands of pornographic images involving children on the actor's computer. He was indicted in mid-2016 and in September 2017, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor as part of a plea bargain. In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors reportedly agreed to recommend a four-to-seven-year sentence, with 20 years of supervised release. But Mark never made it to sentencing…

On Jan. 30, 2018, TMZ reported that Mark Salling had been found dead on the riverbed of the Los Angeles River in the Sunland area on L.A., where he lived. The apparent cause of death was hanging, and he is believed to have taken his own life. TMZ reported that the disgraced actor, who was 35, attempted to kill himself before by cutting his wrists.

In April 2013, Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez) made her red carpet debut with rapper Big Sean. They became engaged just six months later. But it wasn't meant to be: In April 2014, the duo called off their engagement. Just three months later, the "Glee" actress shocked fans when she married actor Ryan Dorsey.

Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey welcomed a baby boy, Josey, in September 2015. But it wasn't meant to be for the duo. Naya filed for divorce in late 2016, and though she and her husband briefly reconciled in late 2017, they were over again before the New Year. (The second divorce filing followed a sad legal drama over Thanksgiving during which Naya was arrested for attacking Ryan during an argument regarding their son.)

In early 2014, Lea Michele and Naya Rivera took their on-screen feud off camera. Throughout April of that year, the duo faced rumblings of mutual diva behavior and reports that their real-life beef was interfering with production on "Glee." The rumors culminated in a report that Naya had been fired from the musical dramedy and written out of the show's final season.

In 2010, Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray) took her relationship with "I Am Number Four" co-star Alex Pettyfer to the next level. But just weeks after the comely couple shot down engagement rumors, they reportedly called it quits. "Dianna is terrified of [Alex]," a source told Us Weekly, alleging that the "Magic Mike" star turned into "a psycho loose cannon" and threatened the "Glee" actress when she gave him the boot. Dianna rebounded with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" star Sebastian Stan, whom she romanced until late 2011. After that, she had a nine-month relationship with actor Thomas Cocquerel that ended in December 2014.

In 2015, Dianna Agron found love with Mumford & Sons guitarist Winston Marshall. They reportedly got engaged over the holidays in late 2015 and tied the knot in October 2016.

Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) became engaged to psychologist Dr. Lara Embry in early 2010. They tied the knot later that year, but it wasn't meant to be: The actress — who took home an Emmy in 2010 for her work on "Glee" — announced her plans to divorce her missus in June 2013. The "Glee" star reportedly lost millions in the divorce, which was finalized in October 2014.

In January 2012, Chord Overstreet (Sam Evans) and Emma Roberts parted ways after nine months of togetherness. The duo briefly reconciled in mid-2012 before the "American Horror Story" actress moved on with co-star Evan Peters. Chord has also been linked to Taylor Swift, Lily Collins, Rumer Willis, Ashley Benson, Halston Sage and Victoria's Secret model Elsa Hosk since his rise to face on "Glee."

Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones) competed on season 17 of "Dancing With the Stars" in 2013 — and claimed the Mirror Ball Trophy with partner Derek Hough.

Heather Morris (Brittany S. Pierce) and her high school sweetheart, Tyler Hubbell, welcomed their first child, son Elijah, on Sept. 28, 2013. The duo became engaged in August 2014 and tied the knot in May 2015. They welcomed their second son, Owen, in February 2016.

In 2011, Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel) took home the Golden Globe for best supporting actor for his work on "Glee." The actor has also written a series of children's books, as well as the 2013 dramedy "Struck by Lightning."

In May 2014, Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang) revealed that she and "Vampire Diaries" star Michael Trevino had parted ways after nearly three years together.

In October 2013, Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang) popped the question to his girlfriend, dancer-actress Shelby Rabara, during a Hawaiian vacation. They tied the knot in late 2015.

What a whirlwind! Melissa Benoist (Marley Rose) and Blake Jenner (Ryder Lynn) became engaged in mid-2013, tied in the knot in March 2015, separated in late 2016 and divorced in late 2017.

In October 2013, Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Beiste) popped the question to her longtime partner, Bridgett Casteen. It was a brief engagement: They tied the knot just two months later.

In June 2011, "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy and his longtime partner, David Miller, became engaged. They made it official in July 2012 and have since welcomed two baby boys via surrogate: Logan on Christmas Eve 2012 and Ford in October 2014.

Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) and model-actress Renee Puente got engaged in mid-2013. They tied the knot in October 2014 and welcomed their first child, son Revel James Makai, in October 2017.

Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson) announced on Jan. 20, 2018, that he'd asked his longtime girlfriend, Mia Swier, to be his wife.

Jayma Mays (Emma Pillsbury) and husband Adam Campbell, who tied the knot in 2007, welcomed their first child, son Jude, in August 2016.

Becca Tobin (Kitty Wilde) married Zach Martin in December 2016 in front of several of her "Glee," co-stars, including Jane Lynch, who officiated the wedding.
