Pregnant and pregnant!

Double the surprise! Double the fun! Both of the Bella Twins — Nikki Bella and Brie Bella — are pregnant, they told People magazine this week… and get this: They're due less than two weeks apart. "Wait, twins being pregnant at the same time?" Brie said. "People are going to think that's a joke. We both are shocked. People are going to think we planned it, but you can't really plan pregnancy!" Nikki added, "[It was] a total surprise. It took even me a good week to come to terms with like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm pregnant.' I'm not ready for it." This will be the second child for Brie and her husband, pro wrestler Daniel Bryan, who share 2-year-old daughter Birdie. This will be the first child for Nikki and her fiancé, "Dancing With the Stars" pro Artem Chigvintsev. "We have definitely felt better in our lives," Brie said of the physical toll of pregnancy. "It's actually crazy because we both have the same symptoms. So we've been super-nauseous."

Devastating tragedy

There are few words to describe the tragedy of Jan. 26. In the morning on that fateful day, a helicopter carrying NBA legend and Oscar winner Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven others crashed into a hillside near Los Angeles, killing everyone aboard. According to investigators, dense fog was likely a contributing factor in the accident. According to reports, the helicopter crashed about 20 to 30 feet below the top of the hillside. It was not equipped with a terrain avoidance and warning system, nor was it outfitted with a flight data recorder or cockpit voice recorder. The National Transportation Safety Board's full report on the cause of the accident could take more than a year. Kobe, who for years used helicopters in the L.A. area to avoid traffic and maximize family time, was on his way to Gianna's basketball game at his Mamba Academy in Thousand Oaks, California, when the aircraft went down. News of tragedy was stunning, and many took to social media to mourn. Thousands headed to the Lakers' home, the Staples Center, to pay tribute to the future NBA Hall of Famer, all while the venue was preparing for the Grammy Awards. There, Lizzo opened the show with the words, "This one's for Kobe." Tributes poured in throughout the week honoring the nine people who lost their lives. On Jan. 29, Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's wife, broke her silence. "Our love for them is endless — and that's to say, immeasurable," she wrote on Instagram. "I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them. Have them here with us, forever." She added, "They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon." Rest in peace.

Engaged?

Is Duane Chapman engaged again? The man known as "Dog The Bounty Hunter" appeared to propose to rumored girlfriend Moon Angell while on "Dr. Oz." The full episode airs Feb. 3. "I am a lot happier with her around," a teary Dog says in a teaser clip. "Moon Angell, will you marry me?" TMZ reported that Dog and Moon are not engaged, despite the public proposal, noting he never gave her a ring. The rumored relationship has caused a rift in the family, as Moon was friends with Dog's late wife, Beth Chapman.

"The Bachelor" issues

Let's just cut to the chase — country music singer Chase Rice is really, really mad at producers of "The Bachelor" for exploiting a previous relationship he had with one of the show's contestants, all while he performed on the show. On the Jan. 27 episode, Chase performed during Peter Weber's date with Victoria Fuller at an Ohio amusement park. Unbeknownst to the current Bachelor, Victoria previously dated the 32-year-old country star. "They've never brought somebody in and surprised the guest on the show," Chase said on the "Fitz in the Morning" radio show. "To do that to me, it's over the top; it's unnecessary. I didn't expect it. But at the end of the day, it happened. I don't know if it's the producers, or if they just got lucky as hell. I know what I think but I'll let everybody else figure out what they think. I was pissed. I was really pissed off to be honest." He added, "If there's anything I've ever wanted, it's to have nothing to do with the drama of that show." OUCH!

Abuse allegation

Selena Gomez claims she suffered "emotional abuse" at the hands of ex Justin Bieber. During an interview with NPR that aired on Jan. 26, the singer spoke about her lengthy off-and-on romance with Justin, which finally ended in early 2018. "I've found the strength in it," she said. "It's dangerous to stay in a victim mentality. And I'm not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse." Asked if she was referring to "emotional abuse," Selena responded, "Yes." She added, "I had to find a way to understand it as an adult. And I had to understand the choices I was making. As much as I definitely don't want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I've ever felt and I've found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible." Justin didn't comment on Selena's claims.

Divorce settled

On Jan. 29 — just over a month after he filed for divorce from Elizabeth, his wife of 18 years — reports revealed that "Star Trek" legend William Shatner's legal breakup has been settled. Because the duo had an ironclad prenuptial agreement, details of the settlement were relatively easy, especially since they didn't share any children. Reports indicate that neither is getting spousal support, which is a probably a good thing for Bill, as he's estimated to be worth about $100 million. Elizabeth was his fourth wife. This was her second marriage.

Baby news!

Ciara and NFL star Russell Wilson are expecting another baby. Fittingly, it's child No. 3 for the singer, which is her quarterback husband's Seattle Seahawks jersey number. On Jan. 30, the couple posted similar images to Instagram revealing Ciara flaunting her belly on the beach in Turks and Caicos. Both captioned their image by simply writing "Number 3" (Russell also wore a pendent in the shape the number 3). Ciara and Russell share 2-year-old daughter Sienna Princess. Ciara also has a son, Future Wilburn, with rapper Future, her former fiancé.

Surgery

"Stranger Things" star Gaten Matarazzo underwent surgery for a rare bone disorder this week. The 17-year-old actor said this was his fourth surgery for cleidocranial dysplasia, a birth defect that affects the growth of the bones and teeth. Gaten has previously acknowledged having several surgeries on his mouth. "There's a one-in-a-million chance that you have of getting it — most likely you get it from a parent, but it just happened for me," he told People magazine in 2016. "I have a very mild case so it doesn't affect me as much, but it can be a very difficult condition to have."

Life on "Live"

This week, "Good Morning America" star Michael Strahan opened up about his relationship with former "Live" co-host Kelly Ripa, as well as his tumultuous exit from the show in 2016. "I've had jobs where I got there and felt like 'Wow, I didn't know I was supposed to be a sidekick. I thought I was coming here to be a partner,'" he told The New York Times. He acknowledged that he could have handled his exit better. "I didn't wake up and say, 'I want a job at 'GMA.'" I was asked to do it by the people who run the network. It was really not a choice. It was a request. But it was treated as if I was the guy who walked in and said, 'I'm leaving.' That part was totally misconstrued, mishandled in every way." In speaking about Kelly, he said, "I don't hate her. I do respect her for what she can do at her job. I cannot say enough about how good she is at her job."

Grammy girl

How many Grammys did Billie Eilish win on Jan. 26? An armful. The pop star, who turned 18 in December 2019, took home five of the six awards for which she was nominated on Grammys night and set a few records. She was already the youngest person to earn nods in all four big categories in the same year — album, record and song of the year plus best new artist — and then she won them all (plus an award in the pre-telecast, best pop vocal album). She became the youngest person ever to take home a song of the year Grammy (for "Bad Guy") and the youngest to win album of the year (for "When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"), besting Taylor Swift, who was 20 when she won the prize for "Fearless." "I feel like I joke around a lot and I never take anything seriously at these kind of things, but I genuinely want to say I am so grateful," she said while accepting the trophy for that one. After later wins, she thanked the fans and other artists (she said she thought Ariana Grande should have beat her for album of the year). The teenager won so much that after her name was announced for record of the year — the final award of the night — she basically had nothing left to say and simply shook her head, said thanks and waved at the crowd. In sports, they call that a "walk off" win.
