Bethany Mota
YouTube lifestyle maven Bethany Mota is just your typical 20-something young woman – albeit one with a massive online presence. The California native, who was born on Nov. 7, 1995, started her YouTube channel when she was just a 13-year-old girl in 2009 as an escape from school bullies. By 2015, she'd racked up more than 10 million subscribers. "Morning Routine" — her most successful video to date — has more than 13 million views, and her "Healthy Back to School Lunches + After School Snack Ideas" clip can boast 12 million views. But that's not all: She also has a major presence on Instagram, with almost 6 million followers. Her YouTube success landed her a spot on Season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars," where she shimmied to the final four with pro partner Derek Hough. She interviewed President Obama in 2015 ahead of his State of the Union address to help attract a younger audience, served as a guest judge on Season 13 of "Project Runway" in 2014, and that same year toured the country on her cleverly titled "Motavatour" to help her connect with her many young fans. In 2013, Bethany launched her own clothing line with Aeropostale, a collection featuring bohemian jumpsuits, chic cropped jackets and more. The rising star has also expressed an interest in pursuing a music career: She wrote her own song, "Be Who You Wanna Be," which she's shared on YouTube. Watch out world — Bethany is coming for ya!
