Elisabeth Moss
With musician parents and a childhood spent in Los Angeles, it's easy to understand why Elisabeth Moss was drawn to show business. She made her professional acting debut at 6 in the TV miniseries "Lucky Chances," but focused primarily on ballet dancing. She studied at the New York School Of American Ballet and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. At 10, she played opposite Bette Midler in the film adaptation of "Gypsy." She graduated high school two years early, which allowed her to join the cast of "Girl, Interrupted" in1999 and play the president's daughter on "The West Wing" from 17-24. But it was playing Peggy Olsen on "Mad Men" — and the many personal and ensemble Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG nominations that have come with it — that has made her a household name. She also won a Globe in 2014 for the mini-series "Top Of The Lake." While TV is her bread and butter, she has moonlighted in a handful of films including "Get Him To The Greek," "On The Road" and ""The One I Love" and on Broadway. When her "Mad" costar Jon Hamm hosted "SNL" in 2008, Moss joined him for several skits, which led to her intro to Fred Armisen. Less than a year later, they got married but split after only eight months among rumors of his infidelity. She was quoted years later describing the union as "traumatic, awful and horrible."
