Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton is the reason the word celebutant was coined. Growing up a hotel heiress with incredible wealth and few rules, her hard-partying ways, flashy style and sex tape were the stuff of legend even before she and her pooch Tinkerbell hit the small screen with Nicole Richie in the 2003 fish-out-of-water reality series The Simple Life. The series' success led to a jewelry line, autobiography Confessions of an Heiress, a Saturday Night Live hosting gig (which she did solo and is rumored to be the cause of her two-year feud with Richie), racy Carl's Jr. ad, self-titled dance CD, and a killer death scene in House Of Wax. Her love life has always been tabloid-worthy was well. After making the sex tape with Shannen Doherty ex Rick Salomon and dating Nick Carter, she got engaged to Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis in 2005 only to move on with another Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos months later. Niarchos partied with Lindsay Lohan (eventually Hilton's opponent in a wordless dance-off) while Hilton was in Austria so she retaliated by hanging with NFL player Matt Leinart. After making up with Richie and filming season 5 of TSL, she stepped out with her husband's brother Good Charlotte's Benji Madden for nine months. Next came Doug Reinhardt (2009-10) and Cy Waits (2010-11). And let's not forget her many run-ins with the law. She was arrested in 2006 for DUI and was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation in 2007. In August 2010, the 29 year old was arrested in Vegas for cocaine possession, just a month after she was caught with marijuana in Corsica.
