Rihanna gives a broken-hearted fan some love advice
Breaking up is hard to do — but it's a little easier when Rihanna talks you through it. One of the singer's fans learned that this week after asking for some help on Twitter. "Hey Robs, how did you get over your first heartbreak? I've been struggling," the fan wrote. "Just believe that the heartbreak was a gift in itself!" Rihanna replied. "Cry if you have to, but it won't be forever! You will find love again and it will be even more beautiful! In the meantime, enjoy all that YOU are!!!" As E! News reminds us, the singer has a habit of helping out fans who reach out to her. When someone contacted her for encouragement in coming out of the closet last year, she responded by writing, "Baby it's OK to be scared, but it's more important to be who you really are! You don't have a choice really! That's not a decision to be made! You are who you are, and as hard as it may seem, the best s— ever is freedom and peace with yourself!" She continued: "Your family may not understand, but luckily you live in a generation that does!! And not to mention the community here amongst us, we will hold you down boo!! #NavyRdie." The fan later messaged with a follow-up, sharing, "I finally came out to my second close friend over here. I'm feeling so good Rih, thanks to you." In 2013, RiRi had even more advice for someone who said they were feeling "down" because of "trust issues with men." "Anytime I have trust issues, I often assume that it has a lot to do with myself," Rihanna replied. "Most of the time it's difficult to differentiate. Intuition and insecurities! … My advice, which is exactly what I've done, is if s–t isn't making sense to me, I'm out. I mean cold turkey! I always need to step out of it to see it for what it is cuz I refuse to let a man play me. If he has no respect, he just doesn't! But you don't have to allow it or be bound by it." You can be our therapist any time, Rih.

Kanye West is 'truly a partner' is Kim Kardashian's surrogacy planning
This week, multiple outlets confirmed Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have hired a surrogate to carry their third baby since the placenta accreta condition Kim suffered during her first two pregnancies would make a third unsafe. That's not the only safety issue on Kim and Kanye's minds when it comes to having another child. "Kim has been very focused on having another child ever since the Paris robbery," a source tells E! News. "The robbery only made her more determined to expand her family, and Kanye is truly a partner in the process." The insider echoes a sentiment Kim expressed on the last episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians, when she said, "I'd just love nothing more than to expand my family and just know that I have this world at home that's safe. And if for some reason I left this earth sooner than I really wanted to, then my kids would have a support system at home so that I know that they would be OK if I wasn't here." It seems Kanye, who was so shaken he canceled a tour and received mental health treatment after the robbery, is on the same page as Kim. The couple has yet to announce the identity of their surrogate, but they've had public offers in recent months from "Second Wives" Club" star Shawna Craig as well as Kim's pal Chrissy Teigen.

Lily Collins opens up about her own eating disorders ahead of 'To the Bone' premiere
When Lily Collins got the script for "To the Bone," the new Netflix movie about a young woman in rehab for anorexia, it wasn't long after she'd written about her own struggles with eating disorders for her book, "No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me." "It was like the universe literally throwing it in my face saying, 'This is something you need to address either for yourself or for other young people going through it out there,'" she recently told Refinery29 of the experience. She opens up about what it was like to play a woman struggling with a disorder she herself experienced in the new issue of Self, as well. "Although I was in recovery for several years before the movie, preparing for the film allowed me to gather facts about eating disorders from professionals. It was a new form of recovery for me. I got to experience it as my character, Ellen, but also as Lily," she says (via E! News). "I was terrified that doing the movie would take me backward, but I had to remind myself that they hired me to tell a story, not to be a certain weight. In the end, it was a gift to be able to step back into shoes I had once worn but from a more mature place." As for the book, Lily says that while she worried about sharing such personal information from her past in a book, she "needed to let go." "I've always strived to start conversations about taboo subjects with young women," she says. "Having suffered from an eating disorder doesn't define me; I'm not ashamed of my past." "To the Bone" premieres on Netflix July 14. "Unfiltered" hit shelves in March.

Tim Robbins reunites with Susan Sarandon in L.A. while Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin get together in France
It's apparently friendly Hollywood exes week. On Tuesday, June 20, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins reunited for lunch with their son, Jack and two friends, at Abbott Kinney in the Venice section of Los Angeles. Meanwhile, in Cannes on the same day, Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex, Chris Martin, joined their son Moses for a little yacht excursion that included plenty of fun in the water for the boys, according to People. Susan and Tim split in 2009 after 23 years together, while Gwyneth and Chris called it quits — OK, they technically called it conscious uncoupling — in 2014, ending their marriage of 10 years.
Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP pulls NASA claim behind anxiety-relieving stickers
In other Gwyneth Paltrow news, GOOP has removed a claim that their $120 packs of "Body Vibes" stickers use NASA technology to ameliorate anxiety, pain and other icky conditions. "Human bodies operate at an ideal energetic frequency, but everyday stresses and anxiety can throw off our internal balance, depleting our energy reserves and weakening our immune systems," the stickers were advertised as saying. "Body Vibes stickers (made with the same conductive carbon material NASA uses to line space suits so they can monitor an astronaut's vitals during wear) come pre-programmed to an ideal frequency, allowing them to target imbalances." Gizmodo looked into the claim via Mark Shelhamer, the former chief scientist at NASA's human research division. His response? "Wow. What a load of BS this is." (Ahem.) "Not only is the whole premise like snake oil, the logic doesn't even hold up," he marveled. "If they promote healing, why do they leave marks on the skin when they are removed?" GOOP reportedly picked up on the story, ditched the NASA comments and gave a statement to Gizmodo assuring the website that "the opinions expressed by the experts and companies we profile do not necessarily represent the views of goop," and that their simply hopes to open the door to "open-minded" resources. "Based on the statement from NASA," GOOP said, "we've gone back to the company to inquire about the claim and removed the claim from our site until we get additional verification." The truth is out there, y'all.
Chris Brown is off the hook on domestic violence prevention classes
Chris Brown must stay away from his ex, Karrueche Tran, for five years but he won't have to enroll in a 52-week batterer intervention program despite the original terms of the restraining order a judge granted Karrueche. According to the New York Post, the domestic violence prevention classes were included initially due to a clerical mistake. A revised document states: "The issue was not raised at the hearing and the court makes no order for respondent to participate in a batterer intervention program." Karrueche said in court that Chris threatened to beat her in multiple menacing text messages and that he had been violent with her repeatedly in the past. The two dated on and off for about five years.
Why Lena Dunham had to give up her dog, Lamby
Sometimes a rescue needs different care than his or her adoptive parent can give. Lena Dunham learned that lesson the hard way recently with her dog, Lamby, who mysteriously stopped appearing on Instagram at some point. On Wednesday, June 21, she shared one more Lamby pic. This time, it came with an explanation of the behavior problems Lamby, who was abused as a puppy before Lena adopted him, was having. Lena opened by saying she wanted to share with curious fans what went down. "… Last March, after four years of challenging behavior and aggression that could not be treated with training or medication or consistent loving dog ownership, Lamby went to live at an amazing professional facility in Los Angeles @matt_thezendog where an awesome person named @therealdanishay (who is educated in a rescue dog's specific trauma) loves him so hard," she wrote. "Lamby suffered terrible abuse as a pup that made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others- we needed to be responsible to ourselves, our neighbors and especially our beloved boy." She continued: "Jack and I will miss him forever but sometimes when you love something you have to let it go (especially when it requires tetanus shots and stitches.)" Later in the long post, she acknowledged she'd learned "many lessons" from the experience, including "forgiving myself and loving with an open palm and giving in to a larger plan." She closed with a plea to pet owners. "… Please know its possible to responsibly re-home your rescue rather than sending them back into the shelter system," she wrote. "It can require patience, diligence and often a financial contribution but there are solutions that leave everyone happy and safe. You will always have been your dog's first stop outside shelter life and that's beautiful."
Terrence Howard's divorce judgment reinstated
Two years after Terrence Howard was found to have been coerced into signing a divorce settlement with his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent, an appeals court reinstated a previous judgment on Wednesday, June 21. The New York Post reports the judgment that's now in place could give Michelle access to some of Terrence's "Empire" income. Terrence previously claimed his ex extorted him with a threatening 2011 phone call, after which he signed on to the terms of the agreement, including spousal support. This week, a judge decided that because Terrence repeatedly tried to reconcile with Michelle — and because "of the passage of time" — it was clear the actor was not coerced. The judge added that both parties were involved in a degree of bullying when it came to the settlement. "Mutual bullying does not describe a relationship in which one party's will is subsumed by the other's and does not warrant setting aside a judgment as a matter of law," he said.
Shannen Doherty's hair is growing back after chemo
When Shannen Doherty shaved her head following news she needed chemo and radiation to treat the cancer that had spread in 2016, her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, posed for a silly photo that showed him wearing a bandana while she wore a pink wig. Now that her dark hair is growing back, the two are twinning again. "I think my husband and I are morphing into each other," she captioned a cute beach pic this week, adding the hashtags, "#Twins #curlyhairdontcare." "He loves me with pink hair or no hair," she posted on Instagram last year. "I'm blessed to have such a strong support team starting with@kurtiswarienko who loves me more every second. Can't imagine my life without him. Cancer is not pleasant but it can bring out the best in relationships or the worse. Thankfully, it has made our marriage stronger. #f🎀cancer." Shannen announced two months ago that she was in remission after a breast cancer battle that began in 2015.
