It's safe to say all Ryan Reynolds for his birthday is the assurance his friends, family, fans and followers are going to make it to the polls this fall. The star turned 42 on Tuesday, Oct. 23, and he and Blake Lively made a point of posting on social media that their celebration this year revolved around voting via absentee ballot. "Happy Birthday to 2018's Sexiest Voter Alive @vancityreynolds #justvoted #absenteeballot party!" Blake wrote, honoring her husband of six years and sharing a pic of the couple holding their ballots. "What a birthday! I just smoked a huge bowl of early voting." Ryan joked, sharing a similar photo and the hashtags, "#JustVoted @whenweallvote," on one of multiple voting-centric posts. Speaking to the New York Times earlier this spring, Ryan explained why it was important to him to get dual citizenship, having been born in Canada. "I feel the compulsion to vote. Especially now," he said (via People). In a December 2016 interview with Variety, Ryan said he "would have loved to have voted" in the election that year but he wasn't legally able to do so yet. "I can understand so much of the fear that comes from this huge portion of the population that's going to feel disenfranchised and that's experiencing a tremendous amount of anxiety about their future," he said at the time. "Minority groups, women, LGBTQ communities — those are all communities that I think are rightfully very afraid for the moment and I'm afraid with them and for them."

Angelina Jolie visits Peru to discuss Venezuelan migrant crisis

Angelina Jolie is back in U.N. mode this week, meeting with some of the more than two million Venezuelans who have fled from their homes and for the promise of a better life in Peru. People reports the UNHCR Special Envoy for the United Nations stopped by a soup kitchen in Tumbes, Peru, that's a popular stopping point for refugees entering the country from north. The actress and director also spoke with Peru's president, Martin Vizcarra, and a nun whose convent now serves as a soup kitchen for refugees. The nun was photographed giving Angelina a blessing. "Every Venezuelan I met described the situation in their country as desperate," Angelina said in a press conference on Tuesday, Oct. 23. "I heard stories of people dying because of a lack of medical care and medicine, cancer patients whose chemotherapy was abruptly stopped, diabetes sufferers without access to insulin, children without basic antibiotics, people starving, and tragic accounts of violence and persecution. None of the Venezuelans I met want charity. They want an opportunity to help themselves. The message that I heard consistently was, 'We didn't want to leave, we had to leave.' After having spoken to so many people, it is clear to me that this is not movement by choice." She continued: "At a time when fundamental principles are being questioned, it is more important than ever that we have the systems and resources in place to identify people with genuine refugee and asylum claims, and to make sure that they have the support that they need. It is crucial to reinforce the rule of law, respect for human rights, international protection and asylum systems." Before leaving the podium, she added: "I have been deeply touched by the dignity and strength of the Venezuelan refugees I have met on this visit, and by the warmth and generosity of the Peruvian people. Thank you very much for welcoming me to your beautiful country. Tu causa es mi causa [Your cause is my cause]."

Looks like Kanye West is back on U.S. soil following his recent visit to Uganda. On Monday, Oct. 23, the rapper appeared in a photo with Dennis Rodman in posts on social media, though little has been revealed about the meeting. The two even wore the same style glasses and carried nearly identical purses as they held hands and smiled for photogs. Later that night, Rebel Wilson — who also works with Elizabeth — joked about the move, teasing Julia by calling her out in the audience. "Uh, Julia, in French that's called a 'faux pas' which in America means, 'B—- move, b—- move, Julia!'" The ribbing was clearly all in good fun, though. Taylor Swift donates $15,500 to fan whose mother is in a coma

Taylor Swift's thinking bigger than pop lately. After encouraging fans to vote and throwing her support behind a pair of Democratic nominees in her home state of Tennessee, the singer forked over $15,500 to help a 19-year-old fan whose mom, Lauriann, has been in a coma for three years. According to E! News, Taylor caught wind of Sadie Bartell's long Twitter post explaining her family's predicament — Lauriann is being cared for at home "full time" by her family, including Sadie, a full-time college student who holds down a job as well as her studies and her mother's health — and moved quickly to lend a hand when she found a GoFundMe link on the post. As Sadie told her followers, Lauriann went into the coma two days before Sadie saw Taylor's 1989 tour; she now credits Taylor and her music for "keeping me afloat through it all," Sadie said. "I'm happy to help take care of her and I'm happy to provide for my family but I am nineteen and everything is really hard right now. I feel like I've reached by breaking point," she added, explaining that one of her brothers is out of work and "anything would help" the family make ends meet. In a note on her massive donation, Taylor simply wrote, "Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift," shouting out her cats. "Everyone who knows me knows that Taylor Swift is my whole entire life. She has been there for me more than anyone. I really, truly, would not be who I am without her," Sadie wrote on Facebook after receiving the donation. "She shows up every time I need her. Kelly Ripa and Rachael Harris have described their new Facebook Watch series, "Heads and Faces," as "uncensored and candid." That may be an understatement if the first episode is any indication. The show features the pals catching up on video chat from across the country, with the premiere focusing on Kelly's prep time for an evening out to the ballet as she and her BFF chat about subjects ranging from "Game of Thrones" role play to "Rachael's husband's experiment with numbing cream" (we will spare you the details) to the less than glamorous reason Mark Consuelos calls his wife "the human pianata." Kendall Jenner's dealing with another round of blacklash. Over the weekend, the reality star turned model was featured wearing her hair in a short but puffy updo in a Vogue Instagram post about the Council of Fashion Designers of America. To many viewers, the look seemed to be a cultural appropriation of an Afro. Vogue, however, has insisted that was not the magazine's intention. "The image is meant to be an update of the romantic Edwardian/Gibson Girl hair which suits the period feel of the Brock Collection, and also the big hair of the '60s and the early '70s, that puffed-out, teased-out look of those eras, Vogue told E! News in a statement. "We apologize if it came across differently than intended, and we certainly did not mean to offend anyone by it."
