Sean Penn, 59, rarely makes public appearances with his girlfriend 27-year-old Leila George, but the couple made an exception for Sean's CORE gala in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 15, where they shared some sweet PDA moments, according to multiple outlets. A spy told Us Weekly Sean kept his arm around the actress and at one point "rubbed her back as she leaned her head on his chest" during the annual event, which raises money for regions affected by natural disasters. At other moments in the evening, the two whispered "in each other's ears" and Leila, whose parents are Vincent D'Onofrio and Greta Scacchi, gazed into her man's eyes before putting her hand on the nape of his neck and running her fingers through his hair, according to the source. Sean also spent some time chatting with Leonardo DiCaprio, who joined Sean and Leila for a yacht date in Italy over the summer with his girlfriend, Camila Morrone, who at 22 is decades younger than Leo, 44. Age gaps aside, Sean and Leila reportedly look "very much in love" four years after they were first linked as a couple.

It opens with a close-up of Sandra singing "Happy Birthday" a capella, then cuts to Ryan as he butts in with a verse while clearly trying to out-sing Sandra. "Happy birthday from Sandy … who loves you more than Ryan," Sandra continues as the camera pans back to her. "Happy birthday from Ryan, who loves you so much more than Sandy," Ryan sings. "What did Sandy ever do you for you?" he asks. "Did she show up and hand-deliver flowers wearing nothing but black socks and a dozen gold bracelets? Just like you requested?" After Sandra finishes her version of the song, Ryan looks at the camera — and simply begins to weep.

Mariah Carey has good reason to celebrate this week, thanks to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, which announced Mariah as one of its 2020 inductees on Thursday, Jan. 16. Luckily, the singer also has a set of adorable 8-year-old twins to party with — and that's just what the family did that evening. On Thursday night, after tweeting that the inclusion in this year's class of honorees is "one of the greatest honors of" her career, Mariah posted pics of herself smiling as her kids, Monroe and Moroccan Cannon threw gold streamers in the air. Behind the happy trio, giant gold balloons spelled out the words, "Hall of Fame." "Always celebrate the happy moments in life," Mariah captioned the shots. The singer, who Billboard notes co-wrote most of her hits, has been getting top billing among this year's inductees in part because so few women have been inducted — just 31 out of 439. She'll be joined at the June 11 induction ceremony in New York City by her co-honorees, the Isley Brothers, the Eurythmics, Rick Nowels, the Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), William "Mickey" Stevenson and Steve Miller.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan make official and semi-official appearances after royal crisis summit
Both Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan made public appearances this week following the royal family's "crisis summit" meeting about the couple's controversial plan to "step back" from their posts as senior royals. On Thursday, Jan. 16, Harry appeared at the Rugby League World Cup 2021 draws at Buckingham Palace, according to USA Today. On Monday, the Queen gave a seemingly reluctant green light to the couple regarding their request to split time between the U.K. and Canada while working to become financially independent.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's 15-year-old daughter Apple has joined the workforce — and she doesn't want her famous parents anywhere near her new gig. Chris stopped by "Ellen" this week to talk about Coldplay's new album, "Everyday Life," but he also shared a bit about his experience as a dad. After gushing about how "proud" he is to see Apple "making her way in the world" by getting a job in a clothing store, he admitted he learned the hard way — by attempting to go see her in action — that Apple needs her space when she's at work. "She was at the checkout — and there were two checkouts — that's what you call them right? — and she saw me," Chris recalled (via People). Rather than giving her pop a happy reception, though, a look of shock apparently clouded over Apple's face as she mouthed to him, "Dad, get out." Chris laughed while telling the story and said he "felt terrible" and got into the other checkout line so as not to make matters worse. "I was holding my T-shirt and really scared of my daughter," he joked. The story does have a happy ending though. "And I paid for the T-shirt, and I brought her some fudge," Chris said. "So I said to the lady, 'Can you just give this to my daughter?' And as I was leaving, she shouted, 'I love you, Dad!'"

A lunch meeting attended by "The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg, ABC News president James Goldston and the news division's senior VP of talent, Barbara Fedida, this week, has drawn scrutiny from Page Six, given the recent drama around Abby Huntman's exit and ongoing the cast's rumored feuds with Meghan McCain. According to a "media insider" who spotted the three at New York City's Atlantic Grill, Whoopi "did not look happy," and left solo with her driver after the meal. While a source close to Whoopi dismissed her seemingly negative vibes as a reasonable reaction to press attention, saying the meeting was about upcoming documentaries Whoppi will be pitching for ABC News, other insiders have said producers at "The View" have been guarded about the recent issues with Meghan and Abby. A rep for the network said the colleagues "had a nice meal" and suggested that "someone is trying to create drama where there is none." Page Six reported earlier this week that the real reason Abby left the show was because of a "toxic" work environment more than her interest in supporting her dad's gubernatorial campaign.
Lea Michele reflects on Cory Monteith's most moving 'Glee' moments
Lea Michele waxed nostalgic about her time on "Glee" recently, sitting down with her former costars Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz for their "Showmance" podcast. On the segment, the pals shared memories about becoming close on and off-set — "we would work all day together and then actively want to hang out afterwards," Lea recalled — and talked about some of their favorite moments related to Lea's then-boyfriend, Cory Monteith, who died of an accidental overdose in 2013. At one point, Kevin recounted the scene where his character, Artie, gets a port-a-potty rescue from Cory's character, Finn. The scene reminded Lea about how seemingly minor aspects of the script often ended up being hugely meaningful. "The moments that made me so emotional were not anything that ever has made me emotional before about the show," she said, according to E! News. "One of them was when he took you out of the port-a-potty. There were so many moments that you see the whole arc of a character for a whole season in one moment. Him taking you out of the bathroom, and you see Finn's heart. Oh my God." The cast members have been through some hard times since their first season, having lost both Cory and Mark Salling, who took his own life in 2018. But as Lea told the other stars, "People will always focus on the negative," and it doesn't phase her. "It's just one of those things to show you that you always come back," she said. "I've always felt that way about the show. I always look back. It was just the best."

With the doors of her beach club in Greece shuttered, Lindsay Lohan seems to be making her way back to the music world. This week, the 33-year-old weighed in on a comment about her rumored next recording on the Instagram fan account, worldoflindsaylohan. Someone had posted a photo of Lindsay singing, according to Page Six, and captioned it, "hope we get LL3 this year," adding a hashtag for "Xanax," the name of a new song the star shared a teaser of in August. Responding to the album plea, Lindsay wrote "end of Feb!" Her music career, which started with 2004's "Speak" and 2005's "A Little More Personal (Raw)," appears to have been on hold for more than a decade.
Kate Upton opens up about the 'pressure' of breastfeeding
For Kate Upton, the first few months of motherhood was shrouded in "pressure." Speaking to The Editorialist, the 27-year-old model explained how things like breastfeeding her daughter, Genevieve after she and Justin Verlander welcomed "VeVe" in November 2018, was hard for reasons beyond the physical ones. "Having VeVe has changed my life in such a wonderful way," she said, but there was "so much pressure … to be doing all these things, like breastfeeding on the go." Kate continued: "The reality, for me, was that breastfeeding was sucking the energy away from me. I realized I needed to calm down, to allow my body to recover."
Ariana Grande sued for copyright infringement
Ariana Grande's up for Record of the Year for her hit, "7 Rings," but according to lawyers for hip-hop artist and producer Josh Stone, the whole track is "a forgery." CNN reports Stone filed suit against Grande and seven co-writers in New York City on Friday, Jan. 17, claiming her recording is a rip-off of a song he wrote, recorded and published called "You Need It, I Got It." Ariana's January 2019 song is credits 10 songwriters including Grande and Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, who wrote "My Favorite Things," the melody of which Grande and her team recycled for her tune. In the filing, Stone claims producer Thomas Lee Brown, who has worked with Grande on at least five albums, attended a meeting with Stone and Universal Music Group in June 2017, where Stone claims he played, "I Got It." He says Brown told him he liked the track and was "interested in exploring opportunities to work together." Instead, the suit alleges he simply stole the track.
