Tyler Baltierra is honoring his mother on Father's Day, explaining in an Instagram post that the day is for "all of those who embody the role of being a dad."
The "Teen Mom OG" star wrote a lengthy post on the social media site, honoring "one of the strongest, most influential people" in his life, his mom, Kimberly Forbes, who is a regular on the MTV reality show.
"I remember her taking us out to eat one time, but she didn't order anything. I remember asking her why she wasn't going to eat & all she said was I am not hungry. I didn't realize until I got home that there was barely anything to make a bowl of cereal at home let alone feed 2 kids," the father of three recalled. "She later told me as an adult that she bounced the check to pay for us to eat. My mom bought Christmas, my mom bought me my first bike, my mom took me camping. I had to teach myself to be a man, but my mother taught me how to treat a woman. How to respect [women] & how to be a loving & compassionate person."
Baltierra, whose father Darl Lynn "Butch" Baltierra was in and out of jail his whole life and struggled with drug addiction, continued on, explaining to his mom that he loves her more than she will ever know.
"You are the best mom & the best dad I could have asked for. You took on both roles in our house & you had the hardest job on the planet raising us all on your own. I commend your courage, I honor your sacrifices & I want you to ALWAYS know how loved, appreciated & outstanding you are. [You're] one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever met & I'm beyond blessed to be your son."
Baltierra's wife, Catelynn Lowell, posted about her childhood sweetheart in her own Father's Day post.
"Our daughters are SO blessed to have a father like you," she captioned a photo of herself and her husband with their daughters Novalee and Vaeda (their oldest daughter, Carly, was given up for adoption at birth). "One that will always be there, teach them, love them, guide them, and be a support system for them no matter what! Watching you be a father is one thing I love the most… As a mother I am beyond blessed that YOU are the dad to our daughters!!!"
