Travis Scott says it's 'amazing to watch' Stormi grow up
Certainly, Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner have enough wealth between them to shield their 2-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster, from the parade of bad news that's defined 2020 so far. But Travis, 28, is more interested in educating his little girl about what's actually happening out there. In GQ's September cover story, the "Astroworld" rapper — who the magazine notes has a custom jersey that reads "Stormi's Dad" hanging on the wall in his office — says the pandemic has allowed him to stay in one place for longer than he's ever been able to before. That's meant more time with Stormi. It's also meant more time with his alleged ex and rumored on-again love, Kylie. And though he doesn't broach that topic in the interview, the writer points out that a photo of Kylie and Travis "locked in a shirtless embrace" is propped up against a wall in the rapper's office. "It's amazing just to watch my daughter grow," he tells GQ. "I'm keeping her aware of what's going on in the world. As a parent, I'm always instilling knowledge, even at this age." That parenting approach makes sense, given his determination to help make the world a better place. Travis is currently in talks with the mayor of his hometown, Houston, about ways to be directly involved in supporting the community. He also wants to give the shuttered Houston theme park, Astroworld, a second life in some way that will help the community thrive. At one point in the interview, he admits he's been dreaming of a "utopia," in which, "… we could just all sit across from each other and one side stops looking at the other side and where we all realize we're equal. … And as people, we don't want nothing from each other but just to see each other happy." He adds, "but with that comes dystopia," referencing the ongoing struggle against police brutality and racism in America that's happening now alongside a global pandemic. "Times are weird for people, and they're trying to figure out what to do," Travis says. "Seeing what's going on in the world is keeping me motivated. Figuring out ways to make it better, that's really keeping me motivated. And whether it's with music, or whether it's trying to go change stuff in the inner city — I'm just trying to turn it up on all levels."

When Taylor Swift shot her video for "cardigan," from her new album "folklore," she had two major challenges to stay on top of. For one thing, there were COVID-19-related safety protocols to consider. There was also the matter of shooting a music video for an album not even her own label knew was coming out. As the singer told Vevo in its latest "Footnotes" installment (via People), she did her own hair, makeup and styling and wore her own nightgown for the shoot for health and safety reasons. Her team also brought in a health inspector tasked with sanitizing the keys of the piano Taylor alternately plays and clings to in the video. And close-ups were filmed with what's known as a "techno crane," which allowed the camera operator(s) to keep a safe distance. Finally, Taylor used UV lights to sanitize the set. As for the secrecy aspect, Taylor told Vevo she shot the whole thing with an earpiece on so as not to let "cardigan" hit any airwaves of any kind. Finally, to keep the name of the album from leaking while maintaining her vision of the piano, which bears the word "folklore" in the video, she had special effects editors add the word after the filming was complete. Ultimately, the imagery in the video, which she shot the first week of quarantine, represents the stages of a relationship, Taylor told Vevo. "I was inspired by the feeling of isolation and how that can be either freeing or terrifying," she said."I view folklore as wistful and full of escapism. Sad, beautiful, tragic. Like a photo album full of imagery, and all the stories behind that imagery."

Cardi B takes a dig at Trump supporters playing 'WAP'
Cardi B's a little perplexed after a group of Donald Trump supporters used her Megan Thee Stallion collaboration song, "WAP," as a soundtrack for their "Trump 2020 boat party." On Monday, the rapper shared a clip from a fan account for the president that showed a large group partying with Trump flags and MAGA hats — to the sound of the song conservative commentators have slammed. "Wasn't republican conservative[s] throwing a little fit bout this song ?" she tweeted (via TooFab). Pointing out the close social interactions of the partygoers during the pandemic, Cardi added that she's "callin the FBI."

Eva Longoria emcees the first night of the DNC to mostly positive reviews
The Democratic National Convention kicked off online Monday night and before the opening segment was even complete, Twitter was awash in votes for and against evening's emcee, Eva Longoria. "During the next four nights, we will gather safely from our homes to listen, to learn, to be inspired, to act, to vote, and to build that more perfect union," the actress and longtime immigration activist said in her opening address, according to Newsweek. "I am honored to be with you this evening. I am here tonight as a ninth-generation Texan, as a daughter of a veteran and a teacher, as a mother, as a voter, and as a patriot." She added: "I share Joe Biden's belief that the story of America is one of ordinary people coming together to do extraordinary things. And at our best, our country rewards hard work, we celebrate diversity, we look out for each other, and we lift one another up." Praise for the star's handling of her anchor role poured in on social media, but so did criticism, with Republican Sen. Marco Rubio sarcastically tweeting, "Brilliant move! No one is more in touch with the challenges & obstacles faced by everyday Americans than actors & celebrities." Others were quick to point out Longoria co-founded the Latino Victory Project and has executive produced multiple projects focused on labor laws and immigration. But now that her rumored NBA flame, Devin Booker, is free from the "bubble" in Orlando, romance rumors about the two are getting a new round of fuel. Brooklyn Beckham fuels rumors he secretly married Nicola Peltz (again)
More evidence Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz may have already married popped up on Tuesday, when Brooklyn, 21, called the 25-year-old model his "wife" in a comment on an Instagram photo of the pair. Earlier this month, after the two announced their engagement, Nicola shared a photo of her hand and Brooklyn's holding onto what looked like a clothing label. The showed Brooklyn wearing a gold band on his ring finger, which quickly prompted followers to ask if the two had already tied the knot. They didn't confirm or deny anything at the time. But on Tuesday, beneath a selfie of the couple Nicola captioned, "my forever," Brooklyn chimed in with the words, "my wife," according to the Daily Mail.
Investigation into workplace toxicity on 'Ellen' is reportedly almost complete
The dust may finally have started to settle on Ellen DeGeneres' hostile workplace scandal. After weeks of allegations suggesting the show host fostered a toxic environment on the set of her eponymous series, Ellen spoke to her staff via video conference on Aug. 17. She apologized for behavior that angered or offended her employees, though she reportedly took issue with an alleged "no eye-contact rule," saying, "that's not me," and urging staffers to "please talk to me, look me in the eye," according to Page Six. Three high-level producers were also canned from the show amid sexual misconduct allegations. The following day, Page Six reported WarnerMedia was "nearing the end of its investigation" into allegations of toxicity on Ellen's set. Stories claiming Ellen was far from the "kind" person she urges viewers to be on each show began to surface back in March, when comic Kevin T. Porter announced he would donate $2 to a local food bank for each story of Ellen's alleged bad behavior.
Laurence Fishburne wasn't 'invited' to reprise his Morpheus role in 'The Matrix 4'
Bad news, Morpheus fans … Laurence Fishburne confirmed this week that he won't be joining Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in Lana Wachowski's forthcoming sequel to "The Matrix." "I have not been invited. Maybe that will make me write another play. I wish them well. I hope it's great," Laurence told New York Magazine. "It is probably the role that I'll be best remembered for, which is great; it's not the only thing I'll be remembered for, which is better," he said of the iconic role. "What I get with him is I've got Darth Vader in this hand, and I've got Obi-Wan in that hand. I've got Bruce Lee, I've got Muhammad Ali shuffled in there, and I've got Kung Fu." The Wrap suggests he may not have been invited back because his character was killed off in the game, "The Matrix Online." The fourth "Matrix" installment is currently due out in in the spring of 2022.

How has fatherhood changed Anderson Cooper? The better question might be how has it not. The CNN journalist welcomed a son, Wyatt, via surrogate earlier this year and is now happily co-parenting him with his ex, Benjamin Maisani. "It's changed everything," Anderson recently told WSJ.com. "I've often in my life felt like I was waiting for my actual life to begin — it's obviously ridiculous because I'm 53 years old — but… I've been very focused on getting to some place, getting a story. Because I'm focused on him, it gives an order to everything." Anderson also shared an update on Wyatt's big sleep milestone –he's now snoozing for 12 hours a night. "I have an amazing nurse… ," he said before joking, "I'm not sure what she's done but I'm told there's no Ambien or whiskey involved."
New accuser sues Cuba Gooding for sexual assault
As Cuba Gooding Jr. faces a criminal trial on multiple counts of sexual abuse and forcible touching, a new accuser has filedsuit against the actor. Page Six reports the plaintiff, who filed as Jane Doe, claims Gooding raped her twice in a hotel room in New York City in 2013. She claims the two were chatting after meeting in the VIP section of a lounge when he suggested they move to a "party spot" in the Soho neighborhood. He reportedly asked her to come up to his room with her while he changed. She says that she wanted to go back to wait for him at the bar but he disrobed and assaulted her before that happened. She's requested a jury trial and damages, according to Page Six. Gooding, who denied the charges through his attorney, appeared in court in New York City last week for a hearing related to the other lawsuit.
